S. standard measure at 62 Fahrenheit, with about twelve pounds strain. A hundred-foot tape expands.0756 inch for each 10 rise in temperature. The tapes are wound in a leather or metal case with folding handle. See Nos. 800 to 835 of the Price List. Our Excelsior steel tape is well liked for use in mines. It is one-half inch wide, and is mounted on an open brass frame with folding handle. The tape is easily wound and unwound, and the open frame allows the evaporation of moisture.
