Guided by the theory of planned behaviors, we explored some consumer behaviors that influence complaisance toward purchasing replicate entertainment products in New York City. Data were collected through closed-ended qualitative questionnaires from fifty participants who have purchased replicate entertainment products for up to two years. The three themes that emerged in final report related to personal influence, cultural influence, and social influence toward entertainment consumers purchases of replicate products. The findings may facilitate strategies for managers to curb replication and mitigate harmful effects to sales and revenue of entertainment products. Data from this study may contribute to the prosperity of entertainment managers, their employees, and local communities. The beneficiaries of this research include entertainment managers, practitioners, academics, and policy makers.

Security in the region is usually assessed from the context of the absence of threats to the oil industry. This study goes beyond that limited view, using case studies drawn from the six states in the South-South geopolitical zone to show emerging security threats in the region and the complex network of factors behind them. The chapters address issues of insecurity such as youth gangs/cults, sea piracy and sea robbery, election violence, communal conflicts, land disputes, chieftaincy tussles, armed robbery, human trafficking, internal population displacement (IDPs), reintegration of ex-militants, youth unemployment, internet fraud, police brutality, environmental pollution, farmer-herder crises and influx of non-indigenes. It rarely relies on quantitative data because police crime statistics are not reliable, or not available, or not even published. Moreover, the training of Nigerian social scientists often focuses on qualitative, cultural, and political issues. There is thus a need to bridge the qualitative and quantitative approaches of conflict studies. This book represents an innovation and fills a gap in this regard. It is the first to introduce a discussion on such issues in a coherent manner, relying on a database that fills the lacunae in data from the security forces. The authors underline the necessity of a trend analysis to decipher the patterns and the complexity of violence in very different fields: from oil production to cattle breeding, radical Islam to motor accidents, land conflicts to witchcraft, and so on. In addition, they argue for empirical investigation and a complementary approach using both qualitative and quantitative data. The book is therefore organized into two parts, with a focus first on statistical studies, then on fieldwork.
