If grandma had the financial resources, she made sure that her table was stocked with lots and lots of food, starting with soup, meat, vegetables, fruit and sweetmeats. A more frugal grandma would look at the limited ingredients in her garden, and in her kitchen and use her creativity to make a delicious meal as often as she could to feed her hungry brood. Cooking was an art, in olden days, especially when traditional cooks knew all about the effect of different foods on your body and system. In Korea and in many parts of the East, including China, the Royal family had special cooks who were half doctors themselves. They knew all about the internal system of each and every member of the royal family, and used special ingredients and cooking methods in order to keep their systems working properly and in a healthy manner. Potato Salad Potato Salad Dressing Traditional Mayonnaise Conclusion Author Bio Publisher Introduction Knowing what to cook was as important as knowing how to cook, for grandma. She also learned how to make the best of whatever was in front of her, from her grandmother, and so on for centuries. Millenniums ago, her ancestors when gathering in the woods for herbs and vegetables while the menfolk of the family trapped and hunted for meat, game and anything else edible and delicious. It was then grandma’s many times great-grandmother’s job to make all these ingredients into something delicious and healthy as well as palatable and nourishing. So she used her instinct and her creativity to make delicacies with the ingredients available at hand. Although science-fiction already has stories about scientists making complete little nutritional packages in the shape of pills that are going to take the shape of food in the coming centuries, we are very fortunate that we do not have to face that sort of blandness in our meals today. We still have the good fortune of going to the nearest market or the nearest organic garden and collecting fresh greens, as well as herbs. We have plenty of fresh meat at hand. And best of all, we have all the ingredients to make good wholesome food. We only hope, judging by the pleasure most of us get from eating, the preparation, cooking and serving of this nutritious food is going to be a human activity which is going to be around for a long time. But most of us cannot afford to have some of the more exotic ingredients, of which we dream. Either they are not available to us in our city. Or perhaps they are beyond our budget. Unfortunately, for a large percentage of people all over the world, budget constraints are the reason why they have to make do with makeshift meals instead of eating what nature intended for them – good wholesome, natural ingredients. Grandma was a frugal person. She lived in a time when the dollars earned by grandpa had to be stretched in such a manner that the whole family could be fed and fed well. Times changed and times of prosperity came along, and the eating habits of the whole family changed. Instead of two or three healthy meals in a day, there was food aplenty and the whole family could now afford to eat whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted, and in large quantities. This naturally gave rise to problems including obesity. Also, by not regulating the meal intake as well as the quality of the meals, the quality of the general health of grandma’s children deteriorated as time went by. However, the circle of financial constraints has gone and come around again and the time for tightening belts and looking at our budgets has become the top priority. A majority of us all over the world again are looking for ways and means in which we can get the proper nutrition in the form of proteins, vitamins, minerals and energy, which our bodies required to keep functioning in a healthy manner.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How to eat healthy while living on a shoestring budget?Well this subject is right in my wheelhouse. I have been balancing out the two for my entire life. When I say that I live on a very small income I am not just saying so for effect. I really am living below the poverty level right now as we speak, and have lived below the poverty level for most of my life.I eat better foods and also bigger quantities of those foods more than anyone that I know also. And I do so while spending far less than the average person does on food who probably eats about half the calories that I eat. We are what we eat. This is the truth. my beliefs are that we all should strive to fuel our bodies with the best foods possible so that we can be the fittest, healthiest, most vibrant, people that our bodies will allow us to be. Your going to get something a bit different here, because I am actually going to converse with you based on what I am doing right now in real time. This is not just some high school report about how to budget your groceries into your life written by someone who isnt even doing it themselves. By the time you are done reading this you are going to not only know how to shop for the best foods and keep them within your budget. But you are also going to learn how to be in tune with your body, and know exactly what it is that are the best sources for your body to burn as fuel in order to live and feel at your best. This is more than just a book about grocery shopping on a budget.Single people and families all can save hundreds of dollars a month on groceries if they just learned more about their own bodies and what it is that they personally run best on as far as fuel (food) goes. These are my BIG 4 things I say to avoid.* Processed foods * Refined sugars * Bad fats * Chemicals and preservatives Once a person can eliminate those things from their life, we will start to feel drastic changes in the way we feel, and eventually even in the way we even look.Even if you decide to not read my book at least take those 4 simple things and try and avoid them like the plague, and you will be on the right track to a healthier way of eating. But for those of you who are going to join me in this conversation, I look forward to speaking with you on the other side. Remember, you dont need to own a Kindle to read this book. I dont even own a Kindle. I cant afford one to be honest. I use a FREE app on my cell phone, and on my laptop. I will also have a paper back version of this book just like all of my other books do as well if you are more of a paper back reader like myself. Any questions you may have about anything you can email me at [email protected] I will answer them to the best of my abilities. I look forward to conversing with you all and I will talk to you on the other side!Carpe diem Dexter

This book was released on 2020-04-21 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Feed Your Family for $50 a Week! Complete Guide to Budget-Friendly Meal and Menu Planning and Preparation "Every cent you own and every moment you spend is always an investment." ― Natalie Pace One of the biggest, constant expenditures in our weekly budgets is food costs. Food is the one thing that you absolutely cannot do without. You might have the power cut off, the cell phone disconnected, or bum a ride when you don't have gas money, but you must eat. Are you looking for ways to trim your food budget? Have you found yourself in a situation where there's too much month and not enough money? Are you tired of running out of food (or food money) before the next paycheck appears? If you've ever experienced that sickening feeling in the pit of your gut when you're worried if you can provide a healthy meal for your children, then this book is for you. The minor investment of purchasing this book could be balanced out by how much money you could save in your food budget weekly. You will learn sensible, realistic tactics for planning and executing a menu, grocery list, and tips for making that stretch as far as it can. If you're living paycheck to paycheck (or maybe have missed a few paychecks recently), then this book is for you. You'll learn concrete strategies for planning meals and food shopping for your family, such as making the most of your time in the kitchen, hacks for making food last longer, practical tips for saving money, and how to create a three-step budget. PLUS, I will teach you exactly how to provide for a family of 4 for only $50 per week! In this book, the focus is on family and food, and how to feed said family in a cost-effective manner best suited to your unique family. If you grew up on the lower end of the socioeconomic scale as I did, then you already have a good idea of how to do most things in life as frugally as possible. For those on the other end of the scale, or anywhere in between, there are some concepts that you may just need a little information or inspiration on, such as food. Whatever your reasons, the intention here is to share experience, knowledge, and love via the topic of food budgeting. Frugality is an art. It can be extremely satisfying knowing that you have given your family the nutrition they need while filling their tummies, so they don't go hungry. The key is finding ways to provide healthy, delicious meals for your entire family without feeling like you have to take out a loan to go grocery shopping. This book will teach you how to do just that! This book is full of loving, homemade, healthy, budget-friendly recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including: Aunt Mary's Meatloaf Picadillo Green Chile Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas Trinidad Stewed Chicken Italian Bruschetta CBCB Alfredo Indian Chicken Curry Chicken Pilaf Vegetarian Chickpea Sandwiches Black Bean Tortilla Soup Sweet Potato and Lentil Shepherd's Pie Potato Pancakes Slow Cooker Best Ever Beef Stew Sweet Potato Chicken Curry Berry Patch Pizza Dessert Chocolate Chip Yogurt Walnut Cookies Yogurt Pops Here's the best part - I will give you a step-by-step plan for feeding a family of 4 on just $50 for the whole week! I will tell you what to spend, where to spend it, and how to prepare the food that you buy to get the maximum reach for your dollar. For even more cost-savings, for a limited time when you purchase the paperback version of this book, you can download the Kindle version for FREE!

Book excerpt: Linda Thomas expected that when she grew old, she'd be a quaint little grandmathe kind that sits in a rocking chair and knits blankets for new grandbabies. But God and her husband had other ideas: Africa! This is Linda's story of her first four years working in Africa as a missionary. In this narrative, uniquely told through letters to her granddaughters, Linda shares how she stumbles into adventures most grandmas could not imaginea hippo charges her, a Maasai elder spits at her, and a baboon poops in her breakfast. As she faithfully answers Gods callingand its challengesshe recounts both hilarious and frightful incidents, joys and heartaches, answered prayers, and those God seemed to leave unanswered. That is why, she used her experience and knowledge, to make sure that she learned all the easiest shortcuts, which would prevent her from throwing away items which were damaged, including clothes, food and other items around the house and garden. Consider this damage control done by grandma. Grandma was the first recycler. Dresses were handed down from child to child, and if there was no child of that particular age, and that dress size, it was handed over to another member of the family where the dress could be utilized through more years of wear and tear. After the dress was torn to nearly rags and tatters, she used the cloth for stuffing cushions and pillows or for patching other dresses. This may sound extremely laughable to our world, where there is plenty, and we can throw away or just give away things, when we think they are getting old, but these were the ways in which household managers – the females – were brought up in the East and the West down the centuries. Waste not want not, was their motto. So enjoy reading through these collected damage control tips, and techniques, which are going to help you keep healthy, fit, your house pest free and other techniques, all brought to you down the ages and time-tested. Let us start with the kitchen. The maximum number of accident, sickness at home and the kitchen somehow seems to be the gunpoint. Culinary mishaps take place all the time, there. But when they do, there should be no need to panic. There is a solution to every problem, if you do not fall into attitudes of hysteria and shock at every little disaster. And I know a few men and women who enjoy what is known in the 20th century as “creating.” So instead of acting like a prima donna Cordon Bleu chef, you can follow something my grandmother said, “there are absolutely no problems, there are only imaginative solutions.” Especially in matters of these things happening when you are entertaining.
