Author David Powlison casts a vision for the key to deep transformation, better than anything the world has to offer—not just fresh resolve, not just flimsy forgiveness, not just simple formulas, but true, lasting mercy from God, who is making all things new.

This book was released on 2017-09-30 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you know some who may be experiencing tremendous guilt for past mistakes and do not know Jesus as Lord and Savior? Or, perhaps, you or they are not sure and need the grace and forgiveness the gospel can bring to their guilt ridden hearts which come in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Then give them this book. We learn in the story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15 that the son's heart was not ready to turn to God until he had found himself in a terrible situation. Once all his money had been squandered, a famine had devastated the land, and he was starving, he finally looked up to God for help. Often, Christians think that these circumstances are the worst times to bring up the gospel when they are actually the best times. It is these dark moments that God will use to call them to His Son. In His Son Jesus they can find forgiveness and grace as God ushers them into His kingdom. This is one in a series of brief books which present the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are experiencing a major disaster in their lives. It is designed to help them take the first and most important step in handling their problems by receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The first chapter of each book begins by addressing the difficult circumstances they may be facing. The subsequent chapters share the true gospel of Jesus Christ and how it is truly good news in handling their problems now but also the greater problem of judgment in eternity. They will see how salvation in Him is the real solution and first step in their journey to recovery now and an eternity of blessing. Give this book as a gift to your friends, family, co-workers, fellow students, neighbors, and even acquaintances so they can hear the gospel and have a chance to receive the Lord as He calls to them during these critical moments. To aid in this endeavor, there is a personal greeting that you can sign and add comments to in the front of the book to set the stage for further conversation. This will remove any uneasiness that either of you may feel once the book is given. If this is not necessary, simply tear it out. This book discusses how the true gospel can bring grace to a guilty heart. The book has topics which include finding grace for a guilty heart, being born again, experiencing God's love for all mankind, seeking Christ's kingdom, turning from sin, repenting and confessing sin, believing in Christ, receiving Jesus as Savior and submitting to Him as Lord, affirming Christ's miracles, fulfilled prophecies, and resurrection, loving Christ in a relationship, depending on faith alone, proclaiming Christ in baptism, accepting Christ's forgiveness, enjoying God's blessings, anticipating our inheritance, and living for Christ. You can use the book to share your faith or give it to someone who needs Christ. This evangelistic book will speak to spouses in marriage, partners in dating, parents and children, friends, neighbors, co-workers, fellow students, acquaintances, and strangers. You are given Scriptural principles backed by bible verses. You will find many concepts of salvation that can be used as quotes. This book can be used in the church or home bible studies. May the Lord bless you as you share His gospel with others. Other titles in this series are Calm Amid Life's Final Moments, Comfort Amid Life's Pain-Filled Moments, Content Amid Life's Empty Moments, Courage Amid Life's Tragic Moments, Faith Amid Life's Wrong Turns, Hope Amid Life's Depressing Moments, Love Amid Life's Broken Relationships, Peace Amid Life's Anxious Moments, Purpose Amid Life's Aimless Moments, Trust Amid Life's Financial Crises, and Safe Amid The World's Chaos and Conspiracies.

Download or read book Sex and the Supremacy of Christ written by John Piper and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2005-06-14 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bible has a way of shocking us. If Americans could still blush, we might blush at the words, "Rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love" (Proverbs 5:18-19). But, of course, sin always tries to trash God's gifts. So we can't just celebrate sex for what God made it to be; we have to fight what sin turned it into. The contributors to this unique volume encourage you to do both: celebrate and struggle. This book has something for all-men and women, married and single-from contributors like John Piper, C. J. and Carolyn Mahaney, Mark Dever, Al Mohler, Carolyn McCulley, and others.
Book Synopsis Gleanings in Exodus by : Arthur W. Pink
Download or read book Gleanings in Exodus written by Arthur W. Pink and published by Sovereign Grace Publishers,. This book was released on 2002-09 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Historically, the book of Exodus treats of the deliverance of Israel from Egypt; but viewed doctrinally, it deals with redemption. Just as the first book of the Bible teaches that God elects unto salvation, so the second instructs us how God saves, namely, by redemption. Redemption, then, is the dominant subject of Exodus. Following this, we are shown what we are redeemed for-worship, and this characterizes Leviticus, where we learn of the holy requirements of God and the gracious provisions He has made to meet these. In Numbers we have the walk and warfare of the wilderness, where we have a typical representation of our experiences as we pass through this scene of sin and trial-our repeated and excuseless failures, and God's long-sufferance and faithfulness.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many popular views try to reduce the process of Christian growth to a single template: Remember past grace. Rehearse your identity in Christ. No single factor, truth, or protocol can capture why and how a person is changed into the image of Christ. Book Synopsis Lessons for the Christian's Daily Walk by : George Mylne
Download or read book Lessons for the Christian's Daily Walk written by George Mylne and published by Darolt Books. This book was released on 2020-03-10 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lessons for the Christian's Daily Walk Devotional and Practical Meditations on the Book of Ecclesiastes George Mylne, 1859 Editor's note: This is the best devotional commentary on the book of Ecclesiastes that we have ever come across! In each verse which he comments on, George Mylne first views the verse just as Solomon intended from the perspective of mere human wisdom. That is, the book of Ecclesiastes is simply God's record of the rational conclusions of the wisest and most experienced man who ever lived. In other words, Solomon seriously thought upon all of life, the world and everything in it and concluded that all are puzzling enigmas, emptiness, vanity, meaningless, purposeless, futile, hopeless, vexatious, unsatisfying, unjust, etc., etc. Secondly, Mylne then views each verse from the Christian perspective that is, through the lens of the cross of Jesus. From this perspective, all the enigmas are solved, all the meaninglessness and futility of life is removed, and all the injustices are rectified. Only through the cross, does life become meaningful, purposeful and satisfying!
Book Synopsis Gleanings from Joshua by : Arthur W. Pink
Download or read book Gleanings from Joshua written by Arthur W. Pink and published by . This book was released on 2011-09-01 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "In approaching the study of one of the books of Scripture it must be of considerable help to the student if he can ascertain what is its main design and what is its outstanding topic. As pointed out in the pages in our Introduction to Exodus each book in the Bible has a prominent and dominant theme which, as such, is peculiar to itself, around which everything is made to center and of which all the details are but the amplification. What that leading subject may be, we should make it our business to prayerfully and diligently ascertain. This can best be discovered by reading and re-reading the book under review, noting carefully any particular feature or expression which occurs frequently in it-such as "under the sun" in Ecclesiastes or "the righteousness of God" in Romans. "The book of Joshua records one of the most interesting and important portions of Israel's history. It treats of the period of their estatement as a nation, of which Genesis was prophetic and the rest of the Pentateuch immediately preparatory. The books of Moses would be imperfect without this one: as it is the capstone of them, so it is the foundation of those which follow. Omit Joshua and there is a gap left in the sacred history which nothing could supply. Without it what proceeds would be incomprehensible and what follows unexplained. The sacred writer was directed to fill that gap by narrating the conquest and apportionment of the Promised Land. Thus this book may be contemplated from two distinct but closely related standpoints: first as the end of Israel's trials and wanderings in the wilderness, and second as the beginning of their new life in the land. It is that twofold viewpoint which supplies the clue to its spiritual interpretation, as it alone solves the problem which so many have found puzzling in this book." Arthur Walkington Pink was an English Christian evangelist and Biblical scholar known for his staunchly Calvinist and Puritan-like teachings. Though born to Christian parents, prior to conversion he migrated into a Theosophical society (an occult gnostic group popular in England during that time), and quickly rose in prominence within their ranks. His conversion came from his father's patient admonitions from Scripture. It was the verse, Proverbs 14:12, 'there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death, ' which particularly struck his heart and compelled him to renounce Theosophy and follow Jesus.
