Book excerpt: Imagined as a sequel to the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, The Last Testament features visual accounts and stories of seven men around the world who claim to be the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Building on biblical form and structure, chapters dedicated to each Jesus include excerpts of their scriptural testaments, laying out their theology and demands on mankind in their own words. Jonas Bendiksen takes at face value that each one is the true Messiah returned to Earth, to forge an account that is a work of apocalyptic journalism and compelling artistic imagination.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In "The Thomas Factor," Gary R. Habermas presents a transformative exploration of religious doubt and its potential as a catalyst for spiritual growth. This insightful book delves into the often misunderstood territory of doubt, revealing how it can be harnessed as a powerful tool for deepening one's faith and drawing closer to God. Habermas, with his extensive experience and empathetic approach, offers a lifeline to believers struggling with uncertainties in their spiritual journey. At the heart of the book is the dissection of three types of doubt: factual, emotional, and volitional. Habermas, through his own experiences and those of the individuals he has counseled, demonstrates that doubts are not a sign of weak faith but rather an opportunity for profound personal growth. He skillfully navigates the reader through the complexities of each doubt type, providing practical strategies for overcoming them. The book is enriched with examples from both the Old and New Testaments, showcasing that doubt has been a constant companion of even the most steadfast believers throughout history. In debunking common myths about doubting, Habermas sets the stage for building a resilient foundation for faith. Practical chapters guide the reader in developing a tailored strategy to address their doubts. This includes disciplines like prayer, Scripture memorization, journaling, and practicing Christian behavior. Habermas emphasizes that working through doubts is not just an intellectual exercise but involves the whole person — emotions, will, and intellect. "The Thomas Factor" does not shy away from the tougher aspects of theological inquiry. It addresses why theological differences exist and how to live with unanswered questions, thus equipping the reader to navigate the diverse landscape of Christian thought. Habermas concludes with a thoughtful discussion on the negative and positive consequences of doubt. He illustrates how doubt, when approached correctly, can lead to a stronger, more authentic faith, likening the process to refining gold. This book is an invaluable resource for anyone grappling with doubts about their faith. It offers not only solace and understanding but also practical tools for turning doubt into a stepping stone towards a more intimate and robust relationship with God. Target Audience: "The Thomas Factor" is ideal for Christians at any stage of their faith journey, particularly those wrestling with doubts or seeking a deeper understanding of their beliefs. It is also a valuable resource for pastors, counselors, and lay leaders who provide spiritual guidance and support.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The strongest warning Jesus gives to the church deals with the issue of deception. It should be no surprise Satan's primary goal includes planting seeds of doubt in the minds of people concerning the truth of God's word. When a person rejects the spiritual truths recorded in the Bible, the end result always leads to deception having eternal consequences. In Ecclesiastes, Solomon warns all people willing to listen, civilizations have historically struggled with the same types of sins, and people tend to repeat mistakes in life over and over again. Solomon brings up the truth history repeats itself. Any nation forgetting the mistakes of their past is doomed to repeat them and fall from within. A key spiritual truth Solomon stresses most people fail to recognize, is the cataclysmic events recorded in the Old Testament such as the Flood, the Exodus, and the destruction of Sodom, were literal events meant as prophetic pictures of cataclysms repeating themselves again. According to Solomon, these events recorded in the Old Testament should not be taken as mere allegorical stories. These stories should be viewed as literal historical events, intended as prophetic warnings of future worldwide catastrophes coming upon the earth. A detailed description of these events is laid out as a warning for all people in Revelation. Jesus warns many people have eyes that cannot see, and ears that are unable to hear. This book will give the reader biblically backed responses pertaining to these Old Testament events, explaining how they are prophetic pictures of future events being repeated on earth. We truly serve a God who loves people so much, He goes to great lengths warning all people of the eternal consequences of rejecting the love and grace God freely offers. Most people even in the church, will be shocked when they finally understand the information the Bible is really trying to tell them. The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9, KJV)

This book was released on 2013-07-26 with total page 259 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jesus said, to the religious leaders of His time, "You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life" (John 5:39-40). In these verses, Jesus spoke a profound truth that has not been completely understood. He said that the religious leaders of His time were searching the Scriptures for some mystical formula that would give them life, when they should have realized that the answer they were seeking was Christ Himself, who was standing before them. He said, in effect, "You will not receive Me. You persist in looking for magic formulas when your salvation is here, in Me as your Lord." When scripture is read it should be with the intent of finding that revelation of Christ. Christ IS the entire Word of God, so the Word, nor any part of it, cannot be divorced from Him. John said: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He [Jesus Christ] was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being" (John 1:1-3). When the scriptures in Genesis Chapter 1 say: "Let it be" or "God said" it was Jesus Christ who was speaking. He was speaking the words of the Father. As John said, all of creation came into existence through Him, the Word, and apart from Him (the Word) nothing came into being. The Word is eternal as it (Christ) has existed with the Father from the beginning. Both the Old and New Testaments are filled with references to Christ which we will examine in some detail here. For instance concerning prophecies of the coming of Christ there are 1,845 references to it in the Old Testament, and a total of seventeen Old Testament books give it prominence. This of course pertains to the First coming. Of the 260 chapters in the entire New Testament, there are 318 references to the Second Coming, or one out of 30 verses. Twenty-three of the 27 New Testament books refer to this great event. For every prophecy on the First Coming of Christ, there are 8 on Christ's Second Coming Technically the entire Bible is a revelation of Christ. To the true believer there is no dispute over who may have written the words although the majority of theological thought is that the books were written by the authors to whom they are attributed. The Words of scripture are not mere words to the believer but are as Jesus said: "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life" (John 6:63). Books written by man convey ideas, inspiration, pleasure and information. "God is a Spirit" (John 4:24) and therefore His words contain spirit and spiritual life. However there are specific spiritual references that point to Christ of which all should be aware. That is not to say you cannot take any verse of scripture and receive revelation of Christ from it--the entire Book speaks of Him as He said to the Pharisees (above). But there are references that stand out as confirmation of His great ministry. Nevertheless the Old Testament, and later the New Testament, are the foundations for our faith upon which we stand. We can receive revelation from Christ from the scriptures without even understanding the verse because the words by-pass our mind and feed our spirits without intellectual understanding. But when Christ quickens understanding to our mind it is even better because then we have the mind of Christ and are able to comprehend what He is saying and His plan from beginning to end is revealed in the scriptures. This Book will search out some of these references in order that you may gain an understanding of them and thus increase your knowledge of the Trinity of God and His purposes in the earth for all mankind.

This book also contains a former and latter writings which took 22 years for its completion. This book also gives prophecies concerning the years to follow as well as the knowledge and technology which is forth coming and destine for our generation. Because he knew that there is a Unity Theory that would apply to these fields together, because they are liken to one another and must have a common link to their characteristics. Book excerpt: The story of Adam, Eve, "God" and "the Serpent" in the Garden of Eden is the true story of the miserable life we live as human beings on this earth. But our understanding of the fateful events in Eden had been solidly formed by the falsified mind-bending "Bible stories" we were told as children by parents and church ministers. And even as adults, organized religion still tells us the same illogical fables and somehow most of us have continued to reason and understand these crucial events that totally control our lives as children, despite the fact that they do not agree with common sense. So, "What is the Truth?" Jesus Christ came specifically to bear witness to the truth; Yahweh the god of Eden had him killed through his religious agents, who continue to muffle the truth and to mislead humanity. But The Final Testaments offers the true definition of the events in Eden. The Fall of the Human Souls; the Actual Original Sin; the Actual Genesis of this World; the Diabolic Nature of Yahweh the God of Eden; the Actual Antichrist or the Expected "Immanuel"; Who really Killed Jesus Christ-all these and more are authoritatively revealed.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many believers see the book of Revelation as a book that is too hard to understand. The third verse of this book has a promised blessing: Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it because the time is near. The Lord would not offer a blessing and then turn it into confusion! So why is this book so difficult to so many? Because the average modern-day believer does not have a firm understanding of the Old Testament. The book of Revelation is explained in the Old Testament. The purpose of this book is to help the reader journey through the Old Testament into the clarity of Revelation. If you heard me say, We are going to celebrate like it is the Fourth of July, what would you think? When you hear that phrase, what mental pictures come to your mind? Fireworks? BBQ? Summertime? I did not mention any of those words. I just said Fourth of July. Theres an association there, and that association is key. However, if we lived in some other foreign country and you overheard me use that same phrase, what mental picture would you have if you had never been to America? Maybe none because there would be no understanding of the event or meaning. This is where many modern-day believers are when it comes to understanding the depth and meaning of the Old Testament. One may understand a story or two, but not many have the clarity needed to fully understand the meaning and purpose of the Old Testament language used in the New Testament, especially in the last book of the Bible. My goal is to help you understand and apply Gods Word in proper context.

Book excerpt: If you are a Christian, you will have to wonder at the information provided in this book by God through his messenger, which will not be found in any other publication. The doctrines and the very foundation of the Christian Church are challenged by God himself, and the sacraments are questioned, as well as many other long-held Christian beliefs. Nevertheless, it does give the open-minded reader new insights into Christianity and religion that have not been written down or expressed before, and in it God, informs us of why we were born, the reason why we are here on earth and what is in store for us once we depart from this world. It will give you, the reader, firsthand knowledge of what to expect and what you will be doing after you arrive in the spirit world. Many of you who do not believe in life after death or reincarnation will be challenged in your beliefs and find that yes, indeed, you have lived many times before. You will also find that God provides us with personal guidance through departed relatives and friends that are in spirit as well as providing help from a range of angelic helpers of all types. There are also people on earth who are able to communicate freely and on a personal basis with all those in spirit and the angelic world. These people are spiritual messengers and are not to be confused with spiritualists, psychics, or mediums who play a different role and may hold different beliefs altogether.

This book was released on 2009-09-26 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The word of God is living and operative" (Hebrews 4:12a). It is "living" and not just letter because it gives life. The Scriptures are "operative" because they contain not only theological ideas to be pondered but also spiritual realities to be experienced. For "every scripture is divinely inspired [God-breathed], and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be complete, fully fitted to every good work" (II Timothy 3:16-17). "Ye search the scriptures," said the Lord Jesus Christ, "for ye think that in them ye have life eternal, and they it is which bear witness concerning me; and ye will not come to me that ye might have life" (John 5:39-40). It behooves us, therefore, to diligently read the Bible and meditate on it. To encourage God's people to study God's word, brother Stephen Kaung delivered a series of messages on the sixty-six books of the Bible. Commencing in 1983, each Lord's day the survey of one book was shared from the New Testament; and a similar sharing from the Old Testament commenced in 1986. Each message is merely a panoramic view of each book of the Bible; a tasting of the sweetness of God's word. The aim is to provide the saints with some basic understanding in their search of God's word. These being spoken messages, no acknowledgement of the names of the many commentaries consulted is indicated. This survey of the Holy Bible will be published as Volume I and Volume II under the overall title of God Has Spoken: with Volume I bearing the subtitle, Seeing Christ in the Old Testament, and consisting of two physical volumes, Part One (Genesis to Song of Songs) and Part Two (Isaiah to Malachi); and Volume II bearing the subtitle, Seeing Christ in the New Testament. May God use these volumes to increase our love for His word.

Book excerpt: Few subjects are as important, yet ignored or misapplied, as the one addressed in this book. Jesus Christ is the absolute center and focus of the totality of God's word. Many people confess this belief, since Jesus himself taught it (Luke 24:27; John 5:39). Christians have done well to see this on one or two levels. Yet, truly understanding just how primary he is as an actor-even in the Old Testament-is something few have considered. In this revised and expanded edition of From the Shadows to the Savior (2015), Douglas Van Dorn helps us see the light of Christ that emerges from the dark hallways of Scriptures that so many find outdated, unintelligible, and irrelevant for today's Church. Learn how Christ is found in such things as prophecy, typology, and the law. Then, come in for a deeper study of how the Person himself is actually present, walking, speaking, and acting, beginning in the very first book of the Bible. Learn how words such as "Word," "Name," "Glory," and "Wisdom" are all ideas that the Scripture itself attaches to Christ who in the OT is called The Angel of the LORD. Then see if such ideas don't radically change the way you think about all of God's word in this truly life-changing summary of Christ in the Old Testament. This edition contains three new chapters (Christ the Power, Christ the Face, and Christ the Shepherd), has been reworked to make sections even clearer, contains new resources, and study questions. It is the perfect book for a study guide on Christ in the Old Testament."A certain kind of delight comes over the Christian when he or she discovers glorious truths in the Bible that were somehow missed or misinterpreted throughout one's life. I experienced this many times in reading Pastor Van Dorn's insightful work. Surely, Christ is found throughout the Old Testament and his ministry precedes his achievements through the Incarnation."Douglas Groothuis (Ph.D.) Professor of Philosophy, Denver SeminaryAuthor of Christian Apologetics: A Comprehensive Case for Biblical Faith
