Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Genesis, God created the rainbow as a sign of His promise to Noah to never again flood the whole Earth. So what better symbol than a rainbow to introduce kids to the promises of God? God's Rainbow of Promises teaches the reader about God's character by tying each color (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple) to a Biblical promise that exemplifies God's loving-kindness and faithfulness to His children. Both personal and poetic, this book is a great tool for showing children how our almighty, all-powerful God seeks a personal, love-based relationship with them. From kids just starting to identify their colors to those building up a collection of memory verses (like those in the back of the book), God's Rainbow of Promises is a great read for the whole family as you journey together in faith and bring up your children in the knowledge of the Lord

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God's Rainbow Promise is a book that looks at the issue of human sexuality through the lens of the three-legged stool that the Anglican Church has used for centuries. The legs of the stool are represented by the areas of scripture, tradition, and reason. This book is meant to provide a start for a group to begin a conversation with each other. It emphasizes that God made the promise of the Rainbow to all Noah's descendants. This is one of the reasons that the symbol of the rainbow became a symbol for the homosexual community to recognize safe places. Please make the place you meet to discuss this book with others a safe place for all. My prayer for those who read God's Rainbow Promise is that they will come away with an appreciation for the opinion of the other, and that we are all God's children, and that there is strength in diversity. Above all, I pray that we live into the summation of God's law found in Matthew chapter 22, by loving God with all of our heart, with all of our mind, and all of our soul, and loving our neighbor as ourselves. The Rev. Lauri Kerr grew up on a dairy farm in North Central Pennsylvania. Received a BA in Psychology from Mansfield University and a Master's in Organizational Leadership from Mansfield University. Attended and graduated from Virginia Theological Seminary, she was ordained as an Episcopal Priest on December 12, 2001. She severed several small parishes during her 17 years of ordained ministry. She currently serves the three parishes of GLEAM (Greater Lycoming Episcopal Area Ministry). Rev. Kerr has been with her wife Mary since 2002. She enjoys golf and bowling. Her main hobbies are collecting Elvis memorabilia and being a movie buff. Rev. Kerr has traveled to Israel and Myanmar. These experiences of overseas travel and life experience of having Turner syndrome and being a lesbian have led her to be a fierce advocate for inclusivity within the Episcopal Church.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The very essence of the Lord's Prayer is one of hope. God comes to us in our every-day walk and offers power and peace. Jesus' prayer demonstrates the hope which God the Father initiated in the very beginning of time. From the blessed hope of God's Kingdom to the Holy will for our lives, this precious prayer of Jesus demonstrates the motives by which we as Christians shall live. The numerous avenues of life are depicted in the thoughts of Jesus - healing, forgiveness, our every need supplied, and relief from temptation. This book also offers comfort to those suffering from serious illness. Even the evangelical mode of God's heavenly Kingdom offers to mankind the rainbow of promise in our Eternal Home. I am a walking miracle of the Almighty God. Having been instructed by God to tell all people of His saving power and of a life which fades not away, I began writing this book. Before I had completed it I was afflicted with a bleeding brain aneurism. With much prayer God saw me through those dark and bitter days and brought me through the darkness into His marvelous light. With His help and with Jesus at my side, I began again to finish the work, which God placed before me. My one desire is for the people the world over to come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ and to join me in holy admonition of God's heavenly home. With my poetry I have reached many people throughout the world. I have been blessed with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and walk hand in hand with Him along life's way.

Book excerpt: Tolerance and co-existence are both great! In fact, they are necessary. If we are to live together in peace without hating each other, or physically harming each other over differences in race, culture, sexual orientation, political views, and religious beliefs, we must have tolerance. However, we must also recognize that every belief can't be equally valid. If two beliefs directly contradict each other, both of them cannot be true, no matter how "tolerant" we become. This means it is false to say that every religion is true, or that every religion leads to God. When people make such claims they show that they have not taken the time to study the world's religions, because a brief reading of the sacred texts of only a handful of religions quickly reveals contradictions on the most fundamental levels. Religious Contradictions Reincarnation (Hinduism and Buddhism) contradicts the belief that this is your only life before eternity (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam). Salvation from sin (Christianity) contradicts the belief that there is no sin to be saved from but simply pain that can be escaped through enlightenment (Buddhism). Jesus Christ is the incarnate, Son of God (Christianity), contradicts the teaching that he is just a prophet (Islam) or that he was a false prophet (Judaism). In light of these contradictions alone, all religions can't be true. They could all be false, but they can't all be true. Are any of them true? This is the most important question anyone can ask. Recognize religious contradictions. Embrace them. Test them. Seek the truth. www.contradictmovement.org

Book excerpt: The most solemn, majestic, and beautiful gifts that Jesus Christ gave to the world are His sacraments. He endowed them with unprecedented and unparalleled power—power to change lives, save souls, and share God’s very life. The sacraments are the ordinary means by which God directs the course of each human life and all of world history. The Church celebrates seven sacraments: baptism, Eucharist, confirmation, matrimony, holy orders, confession, and anointing of the sick. Each was established by Jesus for the sake of salvation. When Jesus spoke of the sacraments, He made clear that they were essential: Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God (Jn 3:5) . . . unless you eat of the flesh of the Son of man and drink His blood, you have no life in you (Jn 6: 53). In Swear to God, Dr. Scott Hahn explores the richness of Christ’s sacraments—their doctrine, history, symbols, and rituals. Drawing upon the Bible and the Church’s tradition, he shows how God’s covenants—with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and David—became the driving forces in history. When Jesus came to fulfill all these covenants, He established a new covenant, with greater power than ever before. Christians are God’s children now. Joined to Christ by baptism, we can already share in the eternal life of the Trinity, a life we hope to know fully in heaven. But heaven is with us, even now, in the sacraments.
