Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nigeria predicted in the Bible is an inspirational book that unlocks the prophecies concerning Nigeria and some other nations, and institution. The emphasis dwells more on Nigeria and her citizen's biological ancestries. Historians recorded the ancient Ethiopia cover extensive part of West Africa and that excludes Proper Guinea. The prophecy says beyond the rivers of Ethiopia there is a nation whose land the rivers divide; this prophecy pointed to Proper Guinea which is beyond ancient Ethiopia territory where we found Nigeria, a nation with two great rivers from different location forming a confluence and creating the greatest delta in Africa. This is the Y symbol in Nigeria coat of arms which explains the emphasis of a nation whose land the rivers divide. Through the prophecies and historical records, we are been informed that Nigerians ancestors were true biblical Israelite s fugitives; that settled in present day Nigeria. Zephaniah 3 v 10; From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my suppliants, even the daughter of my dispersed, shall bring mine offering. Isaiah 18 v 7b; a nation whose land the rivers or great channels divide-to the place [of worship] of the Name of the Lord of hosts, to Mount Zion [in Jerusalem]. Amplified Bible Version. Connecting a nation in west Africa to mount Zion and declaring them as daughters of my dispersed is a food for thought. 7 FACTS YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT NIGERIA1) A predicted nation that will be the gospel torchbearer before the end will come. This book was released on 2016-12-14 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Father Udoekpo's work offers a thorough review of the theology of worship in the work of Amos of Tekoa, one of Israel's foundational prophets. It critically examines Amos 5 in its socio-historical and literary context and theologically reevaluates the application of Amos's message of ethical worship, judgment, and hope to two contemporary cultures: Nigeria and the United States of America. While intentionally down to earth and engaging in society and religion, this work discusses in a thoughtful and detailed exegetical manner the various sub-units of lamentation (vv. 1-3), the motifs of the remnant, the exhortation to the seek the Lord, justice and righteousness (vv. 4-6; 14-15, 24), judgment, and the notion of the Day of the Lord (vv. 18-20) as they relate to the theology of worship (vv. 21-27) in Amos 5. The author pastorally draws the reader's attention to Amos' view that worship must not be restricted to hypocritical offerings, empty rituals, and songs at sanctuaries, but needs to incorporate ethics of justice, peace, and righteousness practiced in marketplaces and plazas.

Book excerpt: This book is an interdisciplinary study of the relationship between prophecy and politics in South African Pentecostalism. The role and the power of prophecy in enhancing the presence of politicians in the church square are unpacked through historical examples, as well as case studies of contemporary prophets. Solomon Kgatle argues that the influence of prophecy in politics has the potential to weaken the prophetic voice of the church in general and the Pentecostal movement in particular. He proposes a Pentecostal political theology of prophecy. This theology is developed by taking into cognizance the theoretical and theological frameworks of prophetic imagination and pneumatological imagination. In addition, this theology seeks a balance between prophecy and power and prophecy and sovereignty.

Book excerpt: GaDangmes of Ghana claim through oral history that they are descendants of ancient Hebrew Israelites. They refer to themselves as Yudafoi, meaning they are Jews. This book traces the origins of GaDangmes and their migration from ancient Israel, following the attack of Israel by the Assyrians to their present abode in Ghana. The ancestors of the GaDangmes were ruled by Wulomei (The High Priesthood). The book discusses GaDangme custom and traditions, including the Homowo Festival, Otufo/Dipo, circumcision, and outdooring (sanctification) of the child after birth. These traditions and customs of GaDangmes are of Hebraic origins. GaDangmes names are like genetic markers and are scattered throughout The Old Testament. Some of the names of their towns and villages bear Hebrew names. Tamar Kemp describes the GaDangmes of Ghana as descendants of authentic biblical Hebrew/Israelites whose ancestors once reigned supreme in the motherland. Joseph Nii Abekar Mensah, PhD., is currently a clinical/educational consultant with Progressive Learning Institute & Counselling Services in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Dr. Mensah is the founder of GaDangme Heritage & Cultural Foundation. Born and raised in Accra (Ganyobi), Ghana, the author pursued studies in applied biology in London, England, with specialization in pharmacology. He also holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology and in education. "I had always wanted to know why my people call themselves 'Gamei, ' meaning 'Ga people.' I learned they are of Hebrew Israelite origins, possibly from the tribes of Gad and Dan." Publisher's website: http: //sbpra.com/JosephNiiAbekarMensah

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book critically interrogates emerging interconnections between religion and biomedicine in Africa in the era of antiretroviral treatment for AIDS. Highlighting the complex relationships between religious ideologies, practices and organizations on the one hand, and biomedical treatment programmes and the scientific languages and public health institutions that sustain them on the other, this anthology charts largely uncovered terrain in the social science study of the Aids epidemic. Spanning different regions of Africa, the authors offer unique access to issues at the interface of religion and medical humanitarianism and the manifold therapeutic traditions, religious practices and moralities as they co-evolve in situations of AIDS treatment. This book also sheds new light on how religious spaces are formed in response to the dilemmas people face with the introduction of life-prolonging treatment programmes.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prophet Harris, The “Black Elijah” of West Africa offers the only comprehensive study of the thought of William Wade Harris, the Glebo (Liberia) loyalist whose prophetic mission from 1910-29 moved tens of thousands of West Africans out of traditional religion into the stream of Christianity and modernization, particularly in the Ivory Coast. It reviews that unparalleled breakthrough, thoroughly examines traditional African, Western missionary and colonial influences which helped determine religious innovation and shape his vocation as prophet of Christ's reign of peace and prosperity. Heretofore unused sources, enriched by documents and photos, expose biblical eschatological and messianic dynamics which tied Harris' words, symbols and charisma together in a holistic African Christianity. The source of long-standing contentions between Ivoirian Harrists, Methodists and Catholics is uncovered in the well-intentioned but changing colonial and missionary responses to his impact.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Technology is growing at an exponential rate vis-à-vis humanity’s ability to control it. Moreover, the numerous ethical issues that technology raises are also troubling. These statements, however, may be alarmist—since Telus would tell us “The Future is Friendly”. The Modernist vision of the future was utopic, for instance Star Trek of the 1960s. But postmodern views, such as are found in Blade Runner 2049, are dystopic. Theology is in a unique interdisciplinary position to deal with the many issues, pro and con, that technology raises. Even theologians like Origen in the third century and Aquinas in the thirteenth century made forays into Artificial Intelligence and surrounding issues (they just didn’t know it at the time). Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Transhumanism raise questions about what it means to be human. What is consciousness? What is soul? What are life and death? Can technology really save us and give us eternal life? Theology is in a unique position to handle these questions and issues. This book also has practical applications in terms of ecclesiology (church) in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic—both in terms of what it means to be a church and in terms of the sacraments or ordinances. Is there such a thing as a “Virtual Church” or must we gather physically to constitute one? Are Baptism and Communion legitimate if one is not physically in a church building but are “online”? This book struggles with these and many other questions which will help the scholar or reader make up their own minds, however tentatively.
