Book excerpt: Most Christians know they lack something, the reality of God's presence in their life and His power working in and through them. His power to help them in their life, His power to transform their life and His power to help them serve Him. However if we are honest for most Christians God's presence and the notion of His power working in their life is a concept rather than a reality. They 'have a form of godliness but lack the power of God in their life' (2Timothy 3:5 paraphrased). But...One of the natural laws is that you can only fill empty open vessels. You cannot fill an empty vessel which is closed; you have to open it before you can fill it. And you cannot fill a vessel which is full even if full with the wrong kind of stuff; you have to empty it before you can fill it. God established that natural law Himself and it seems He doesn't bypass it.We come across many empty open vessels in the Bible. For example Elisha and the poor widow in the Old Testament. The miracles of Jesus in the New Testament - the miraculous turning water into wine through His power started with empty open vessels; on two occasions miraculously filling Peter's empty net with fish through His power; and on two occasions miraculously feeding (filling) a hungry crowd (empty human vessels) through His power. And of course the empty tomb. Could it be that 'empty open vessels' teach us something about how God reveals His power in us to transform us, to help us serve Him or do His will or to help us in our life? This book explores the 'Parable of the Empty Open Vessel', how God fills 'empty open human vessels' with His power. Empty and open human vessels who are hungry and thirsty for God and His power in their life, and are reaching to God with desire to be filled.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the more intimate vein of personal Bible study and commentary pioneered by Beth Moore, lay aside the staid and sometimes boring vision of Paul as an early church patriarch and instead explore an in-depth study of the historical, political, and social traditions from which he wrote to understand the ways in which his own journey was being impacted, even as he traveled and ministered to others. Far from being tedious, as he so often seems, Paul was passionate, eloquent, politically discerning, and utterly human. Through extensive exegetical study and personal narrative, Paul's life becomes a compelling example by which to live, and his words to the Philippians become one of God's greatest love letters to His church.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1 SAM 13:1, we see that Saul had fallen from grace in just two years! Saul's fall was probably the biggest disappointment Samuel faced in his ministry. Therefore, a defining moment in Samuel's ministry was when, at his zero hour, as he lay prostrate on the floor mourning for Saul, a voice rang from heaven: "Fill your horn with oil and go!" This book essentially illustrates the interplay between two symbols: 'horn' (that symbolizes, you, the carrier of God's anointing) and 'oil' (that symbolizes the anointing). Throughout this book you will see different pictures being painted by the metaphorical use of these two symbols: 'horn' and 'oil'. The theme, "Fill your horn with oil and go" is used to symbolically represent how a christian should deal with the different scenarios the christian faces in his/her christian walk. Dr. Gregory Uvieghara is the president and founder of All Nations for Christ Ministries, Inc. Born in 1960, he recognized the call of God on his life at the age of 9 in his native country, Nigeria. After obtaining his first degree at the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1980, he moved to the United States where he received 3 graduate degrees at M.I.T. and the University of California, Berkeley. In 1989, while doing his doctorate in electronics at UC Berkeley, the Lord led him to travel to Japan to do missionary work along with post-doctoral research at Hitachi. Since returning to the States in 1991, he has been working at AT&T Bell Labs., Rockwell, and Qualcomm while fulfilling a travelling ministry in the U.S., Japan, India, Russia, England and Nigeria. This anointed minister preaches and teaches with an apostolic/prophetic influence, signs and wonders following!

The main reasons for not recognizing our abilities are because sometimes they can come too naturally and too easily to be real and other times because of lack of self-esteem. Abilities that are not discovered, cultivated, and nurtured remain dormant, untapped and wasted. Many people have plodded along all their lives and sometimes gone to their graves without discovering and utilizing their abilities. Consequently, they have not really been of benefit to themselves and to their own generation. This book provides the keys to discovering your inner abilities. The book will help you to break free from low self-esteem, inadequacies, rejection and to appreciate that you have what it takes to accomplish your purpose in life. Your abilities are like gold; you have to dig for them in order to bring them out!

This book was released on 2015-03-26 with total page 977 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume 35 Sermons 2062-2120 Charles Spurgeon (19 June 1834 – 31 January 1892) is one of the church’s most famous preachers and Christianity’s foremost prolific writers. Called the “Prince of Preachers,” he was one of England's most notable ministers for most of the second half of the nineteenth century, and he still remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations today. His sermons have spread all over the world, and his many printed works have been cherished classics for decades. In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to more than 10 million people, often up to ten times each week. He was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. He was an inexhaustible author of various kinds of works including sermons, commentaries, an autobiography, as well as books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. Spurgeon was known to produce powerful sermons of penetrating thought and divine inspiration, and his oratory and writing skills held his audiences spellbound. Many Christians have discovered Spurgeon's messages to be among the best in Christian literature. Edward Walford wrote in Old and New London: Volume 6 (1878) quoting an article from the Times regarding one of Spurgeon’s meetings at Surrey: “Fancy a congregation consisting of 10,000 souls, streaming into the hall, mounting the galleries, humming, buzzing, and swarming—a mighty hive of bees—eager to secure at first the best places, and, at last, any place at all. After waiting more than half an hour—for if you wish to have a seat you must be there at least that space of time in advance—Mr. Spurgeon ascended his tribune. To the hum, and rush, and trampling of men, succeeded a low, concentrated thrill and murmur of devotion, which seemed to run at once, like an electric current, through the breast of every one present, and by this magnetic chain the preacher held us fast bound for about two hours. It is not my purpose to give a summary of his discourse. It is enough to say of his voice, that its power and volume are sufficient to reach every one in that vast assembly; of his language, that it is neither high-flown nor homely; of his style, that it is at times familiar, at times declamatory, but always happy, and often eloquent; of his doctrine, that neither the 'Calvinist' nor the 'Baptist' appears in the forefront of the battle which is waged by Mr. Spurgeon with relentless animosity, and with Gospel weapons, against irreligion, cant, hypocrisy, pride, and those secret bosom-sins which so easily beset a man in daily life; and to sum up all in a word, it is enough to say of the man himself, that he impresses you with a perfect conviction of his sincerity.” More than a hundred years after his death, Charles Spurgeon’s legacy continues to effectively inspire the church around the world. For this reason, Delmarva Publications has chosen to publish the complete works of Charles Spurgeon.
