But Lloyd and his new girlfriend Lilly are in for a wild ride when that gravel road suddenly makes itself heard in some pretty loud ways. In its utter simplicity, it declares and lays bare the unconditional love of the Father. Your words are so wonderfully simple. The one who believes that the truth of life in Christ is a mess of complicated rules and self-dedication will feel they are free-falling into life in the simplicity of these pages and the truth they contain. Thank you for writing it and quoting me. May it reach the multitudes. Blessing is on you and this little book. --Malcolm Smith Unconditional Love International malcolmsmith.org About everyone can relate to having an Old Charlie in their life. It could be a grandmother or a grandfather. Charlie was my first contact with unconditional love, and it took place in Ohio's Appalachian hills. I love the second spring, the beautiful colors of autumn, and the leaves taking on the beauty of flowers as the wind caresses my face, whispering, spring will be here before you know it. The heart of spring reminds me of the beautiful heart of a senior citizen we called Old Charlie. He unconditionally loved five naughty children who lived and worked on a tobacco farm along an old gravel road. He traveled in an old two-wheel lopsided cart, pulled by a grayish-white horse named Rocky. After enjoying this true story, you will agree most people can relate to having an Old Charlie in their life. Remembering the loving heart of this wise gentleman became my motivating force in writing this book. I am presenting this incredible truth and revealing two life-giving treasures that guarantee a more enjoyable now and an encouraging outlook for tomorrow. Every parent or grandparent should make this a gift to your children and grandchildren; we all need to know we are unconditionally loved. --Tommy Hawk Convention Speaker, Author, Pastor, Bible Teacher Tommyhawkministries.com 30

I have offered my opinions only, honestly and openly and from an observation point of view. This is my story....sometimes sad, sometimes funny, sometimes frightening and at times controversial. I’ve worked in many Aboriginal communities alongside our First Nation people over many years. It has at times been challenging but has provided me with an opportunity to learn about their culture and to have a much better understanding of life in these communities. My story starts from my years as a cheeky kid to a young musician playing guitar in a rock band around South East Queensland and then to my adult life which has been eventful to say the least. So let’s start at the beginning...

Book excerpt: New York Times bestselling author of the Spenser series of crime thrillers - Book 2 in the series - Appie Knoll is the kind of suburb where kids grow up right. But something is wrong. Fourteen-year-old Kevin Bartlett disappears. Everyone thinks he's run away -- until the comic strip ransom note arrives. It doesn't take Spenser long to get the picture -- an affluent family seething with rage, a desperate boy making strange friends...friends like Vic Harroway, body builder. Mr. Muscle is Spenser's only lead and he isn't talking...except with his fists. But when push comes to shove, when a boy's life is on the line, Spenser can speak that language too. "A brillant, and cynical, comic tragedy or tragic comedy of manners. Long may Parker wave." -- Los Angeles Times

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jane Adams focuses on the transformation of rural life in Union County, Illinois, as she explores the ways in which American farming has been experienced and understood in the twentieth century. Reconstructing the histories of seven farms, she places the details of daily life within the context of political and economic change. Adams identifies contradictions that, on a personal level, influenced relations between children and parents, men and women, and bosses and laborers, and that, more generally, changed structures of power within the larger rural community. In this historical ethnography, Adams traces two contradictory narratives: one stresses plenitude--rich networks of neighbors and kin, the ability to supply families from the farm, the generosity shown to those in need--while the other stresses the acute hardships and oppressive class, gender, and age inequities that characterized farm life. The New Deal and World War II disrupted both patterns, as the increased capital necessary for successful farming forced many to move from agriculture to higher-paid nonfarm work. This shift also changed the structure of the farm household, as homes modernized and women found work off the farm. Adams concludes that large-scale bureaucracies leveled existing class distinctions and that community networks eroded as farmers came to realize an improved standard of living.

Book excerpt: TRUSTING HER… They all loved her. That was their mistake. Two husbands, her college fiancé, an influential boss—every man who gets close to Jordan Price is made to pay in blood. And the list is growing… COULD BE… Hired by the Powell Agency to investigate Senator Dan Price’s death, Rick Carson can see at once why people would believe Jordan Price incapable of cold-blooded murder. Slender, pale, and elegant, she stands by her late husband’s graveside exuding sweet vulnerability. Only Rick notices that she never sheds a tear. And the deeper he delves into the string of deaths from which Jordan has profited handsomely, the more convinced Rick becomes that he is dealing with a callous, cunning, unstoppable killer… THE LAST THING YOU EVER DO… The closer Rick gets to the chilling truth, the more dangerous this game of cat-and-mouse becomes. The targets are changing, and suddenly, nothing and no one is safe. If Jordan is as innocent as she claims, Rick may have placed her in a killer’s cross hairs. And if she’s guilty, he’ll never live to regret it…

Has your breath been taken away at the explosive flush of a ruffed grouse under foot? Do you fall asleep at night dreaming of a largemouth bass inhaling your plastic worm or a northern pike crushing your chartreuse spinnerbait? If so, then Den Pluimer's Praise the Lord-And Pass the Leeches should be part of your library. But Den goes way beyond the traditional 'huntin' and fishin'' stories, as he reveals an inspirational lesson about our Creator in each chapter. Praise the Lord-And Pass the Leeches will take you to a cattail-rimmed marsh or a dogwood-choked grouse covert. It will place you on a Lake Winnie walleye hole or a cabbage weed line full of cruising largemouth bass. It is in such places where the author lives his dream, and it is in those places where he visits his Creator.
