Book Synopsis Land Reform Revisited by : Femke Brandt
Download or read book Land Reform Revisited written by Femke Brandt and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2018-03-12 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Land Reform Revisited engages with contemporary debates on land reform and agrarian transformation in South Africa. The volume offers insights into post-apartheid transformation dynamics through the lens of agency and state making. The chapters written by emerging scholars are based on extensive qualitative research and their analysis highlights the ways in which people negotiate and contest land reform realities and politics. By focusing on the diverse meanings of land and competing interpretations of what constitutes success and failure in land reform Brandt and Mkodzongi insist on looking beyond the productivity discourses guiding research and policy making in the field towards an informed view from below. Contributors are: Kezia Batisai, Femke Brandt, Sarah Bruchhausen, Nerhene Davis, Elene Cloete, Tariro Kamuti, Tarminder Kaur, Grasian Mkodzongi, Camalita Naicker, Fani Ncapayi, Mnqobi Ngubane, and Chizuko Sato.
Download or read book Efecto Viral written by Guillermo Beylis and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 2020-12-03 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Handbook of Research on Reinventing Economies and Organizations Following a Global Health Crisis by : Costa, Teresa Gomes da
Download or read book Handbook of Research on Reinventing Economies and Organizations Following a Global Health Crisis written by Costa, Teresa Gomes da and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2021-06-11 with total page 554 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Due to the global health crisis, economies had to adapt to combat pandemic situations. In the present pandemic crisis, new legislation, methods, labor approaches, values, and social behaviors have emerged with a huge impact in all organizations. However, countries have applied different solutions, procedures, and rules to deal with crises. Therefore, the impact has been different per country. Organizations need to understand their customers and businesses not only to increase operational efficiency but also to increase stakeholder’s satisfaction and their competitiveness in a sustainable way. Customers are becoming more exigent and markets more complex, calling for the need for higher differentiation. This was enhanced in this pandemic situation, and to survive, organizations needed to change and adapt to the new normal. The Handbook of Research on Reinventing Economies and Organizations Following a Global Health Crisis deals with management and economic issues, particularly with the reinvention of businesses and economies due to the pandemic situation and the relevance of entrepreneurship, innovation, and intensive knowledge used to deal with these changes. This book emphasizes the challenges, difficulties, and opportunities for the success of businesses and economies in periods of crisis and provides information for dealing with entrepreneurship and innovation, networks, and complementarities to recover businesses. The chapters also point out possible opportunities, challenges, and risks in the process of recovery highlighting innovation, internationalization, technology, and intensive knowledge in promoting economies and companies’ competitiveness. This book is ideal for entrepreneurs, managers, economists, directors, shareholders, researchers, academicians, and students interested in how businesses reinvent and recover following a global health crisis.

Book Synopsis Gender Inequality in the Global Labor Market by : Reyna Elizabeth Rodríguez Pérez
Download or read book Gender Inequality in the Global Labor Market written by Reyna Elizabeth Rodríguez Pérez and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2024-10-24 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines gender inequality from the perspective of feminist economics, with empirical application, across different countries such as Turkey, the United States, Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica and territories within Europe. It centers on topics such as labor participation, occupational segregation, feminization of poverty and migration, wage differentials, changes in and the quality of employment, equity index, and gender bias in fiscal policies. It encompasses both developed and developing countries and shows that the gender gap has been narrowing over time, although not completely, mainly due to the sparse implementation of programs and public policies with a feminist economic approach, which help to make gender dimensions in the economy visible and highlight the implications this has on women’s lives. The book also examines the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on inequality on the working lives of men and women. This book will be an important asset in teaching forums on the most recent advances in economic science across a number of different theories, approaches and research hypotheses that explain the study of gender inequality. It also presents different empirical studies, using multiple methodologies and databases, applied to specific problems in multiple countries to identify the advances, opportunities and changes that have occurred in gender inequality from a feminist economic perspective. The book offers relevant, novel and original scientific data and makes public policy proposals to encourage the participation of women in the labor market. Consequently, it will also be of interest to policymakers concerned with global trends in the labor market.

Book excerpt: Phenomena such as the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change, or the surge of political populism show that the current phase of accelerated globalization is over. Book Synopsis La globalización de la pobreza by : Erik S. Reinert
Download or read book La globalización de la pobreza written by Erik S. Reinert and published by Grupo Planeta (GBS). This book was released on 2007-09 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Lengua española, contacto lingüistico y globalización by : Roland Terborg
Download or read book Lengua española, contacto lingüistico y globalización written by Roland Terborg and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Human Trafficking by : Wendy Stickle
Download or read book Human Trafficking written by Wendy Stickle and published by SAGE Publications. This book was released on 2019-08-19 with total page 422 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Human Trafficking: A Comprehensive Exploration into Modern Day Slavery examines the legal, socio-cultural, historical, and political aspects of human trafficking and modern-day slavery. While most texts only cover sex trafficking and labor trafficking, this text takes a more inclusive approach, provide coverage of what is currently known about organ trafficking, child marriage, and child soldiers as well. These topics are explored within the borders of the United States as well as across the world. The reality is that this problem is not limited to one country or, even, one continent. Technology and globalization have made this an international crisis that requires a collaborative and cooperative international response. The goal of this text is to provide an accurate understanding of all forms of human trafficking and current responses to this crime.
