Book excerpt: In the great tradition of DAY OF THE JACKAL, a chillingly tense tale of assassination and betrayal. Captain Jack Boulder was his regiment's rifle champion, and runner-up for the Queen's Prize. Now, thanks to a spot of unauthorized freelance activity in Northern Ireland, he's just plain mister, running a gun club in the City. So when the spooks send him £500 in the post just for picking up the phone and listening, he listens. In spite of the ruthlessness with which the army dumped him, the notion of serving his country still means something to him, and of course it's flattering to be told that you're the only man for the job... So begins a chillingly tense adventure of assassination and betrayal, in the course of which Jack does what he does best, only to discover that the enemy is not who he had been led to believe, and that not only his life but those of his wife and sons are seriously at risk. Authentically detailed and blisteringly fast-paced, 'The Ghostmaker' is a highly accomplished debut.

Book excerpt: The early German Enlightenment is seen as a reform movement that broke free from traditional ties without falling into anti-Christian and extremist positions, on the basis of secular natural law, an anti-metaphysical epistemology, and new social ethics. But how did the works which were radical and critical of religion during this period come about? And how do they relate to the dominant 'moderate' Enlightenment? Martin Mulsow offers fresh and surprising answers to these questions by reconstructing the emergence and dissemination of some of the radical writings created between 1680 and 1720. The Hidden Origins of the German Enlightenment explores the little-known freethinkers, persecuted authors, and secretly circulating manuscripts of the era, applying an interdisciplinary perspective to the German Enlightenment. By engaging with these cross-regional, clandestine texts, a dense and highly original picture emerges of the German early Enlightenment, with its strong links with the experience of the rest of Europe.

Book excerpt: It’s not an impossible mission. It’s an insane one. Ten people. Eriumans, Karassians, Free-Staters. None of them armed with anything more lethal than a single repaired and unreliable one-handed ghostmaker and a handful of bladed weapons, all of them with mental instabilities from years of brain wipes and memory manipulations. Worse, Bellona Cardenas is uncertain of their loyalties. Ten fragile people to infiltrate the most secure facility in the Republic. So begins Suns Eclipsed, the second book in the Indigo Reports space opera science fiction series by award-winning SF author Cameron Cooper. The Indigo Reports series: 0.5 Flying Blind 1.0 New Star Rising 1.1 But Now I See 2.0 Suns Eclipsed 3.0 Worlds Beyond Space Opera Science Fiction Novel __ Praise for Suns Eclipsed: God I love these characters, a motley crew of fantastic beings. I am loving this series! The characters are complex and interesting while the action has lots of unexpected twists and turns. Not since I first read Anne McCaffrey’s Ship Series have I enjoyed a SF series more. Cameron again proves Robert Heinlein’s words “Specialization is for insects”, as he delights us with his storytelling talent across multiple genres. The action never really stops as the reader is pulled through the book at breakneck speed! I am continually amazed at the imagination of this author. By the time I finished the book all I kept thinking was Nooooooooooooooooo! I have to wait till the next book comes out to be able to continue reading the story. A motley crew, an impossible mission and a wack-a-doodle, vengeful mother combine to give us another exciting story. A kick-ass adventure set in space, with a scope as beautiful as the stars in the galaxies. I thoroughly enjoyed it! This is meatier, brain engaging and seat-belt fastening. Fast-paced adventure full of futuristic elements, all too human emotions and developments you will never see coming. A wonderful follow up to the previous book in this series. The story just keeps getting better and better. __ Cameron Cooper is the author of the Imperial Hammer series, an Amazon best-selling space opera series, among others. Cameron tends to write space opera short stories and novels, but also roams across the science fiction landscape. Cameron was raised on a steady diet of Asimov, Heinlein, Herbert, McCaffrey, and others. Peter F. Hamilton and John Scalzi are contemporary heroes. An Australian Canadian, Cam lives near the Canadian Rockies.

The Indigo Reports is the boxed set of the entire space opera science fiction series by award-winning SF author Cameron Cooper. The Indigo Reports series: 0.5 Flying Blind 1.0 New Star Rising 1.1 But Now I See 2.0 Suns Eclipsed 3.0 Worlds Beyond Space Opera Science Fiction Novel __ Praise for The Indigo Reports series: The story is unpredictable, the horror and pain is real. This is an epic saga!! The signature intensity and tension of the Indigo series is back!!! This is epic science fiction at its finest. Realistic far future worlds. Incredible characters and scenarios. Cameron knows how to tell a story, regardless of whether we are going back in history or forward in time. Until this book I had forgotten just how much I love good science fiction and Cameron’s is not just good, it’s exceptional. This is a complex tale of planetary politics, plotting, spying, scientific marvels, and advanced androids. Plus there is the fascinating floating city of Demos. The concepts are staggering and intensely interesting. The Indigo Reports series is far more than I ever anticipated. This story is terrific! It's intriguing and futuristic and human in its telling. One of my favorite and most satisfying science fiction series to read. A series to devour. __ Cameron Cooper is the author of the Imperial Hammer series, an Amazon best-selling space opera series, among others. Book excerpt: The stories of Louis L’Amour are built around the dramatic moments when men and women cast their fears, doubts, and pasts behind them and plunge into the unknown—into split-second decisions with life-and-death consequences. Nowhere is that more evident than in this quintessential collection of stories set on the American frontier. Here L’Amour takes us across a bold, beautifully rendered landscape where old scores haunt new lives, the wrong choice leaves unwitting victims, and strangers may come to trust—or kill—one another. Fugitives, visionaries, fortune seekers, drifters, and young women trying to build homes on a lawless frontier, the characters in these pulse-pounding stories are vintage L’Amour. Together in this vivid, rollicking collection, they bring to life the spirit of adventure and confirm Louis L’Amour’s place in the pantheon of American writers.
