Symptome und Ausmaß der Gewalt und Aggression an Schulen werden exemplarisch anhand einer empirischen Studie der ehemaligen Behörde für Schule, Jugend und Berufsbildung an Hamburger Schulen verdeutlicht. Im Anschluss werde ich versuchen einen Überblick über die vorhandenen Theorien zur Erklärung von Aggression und Gewalt zu liefern. Ich werde mich dabei auf ausgewählte psychologische und soziologische Theorien beschränken. Für die jeweiligen Theorien wird eine Bewertung vorgenommen und Folgerungen bzw. Forderungen für den Bereich der Schule, die sich aus den meisten Theorien ergeben, dargelegt. Zum Abschluss dieses Abschnittes werde ich Schlussfolgerungen aus den Theorien zur Erklärung von Aggression und Gewalt ziehen und Ziele für die schulische Aggressionsprävention und -intervention nennen. Hiernach folgt eine Definition der Begriffe Aggressionsprävention und -intervention. Im nachfolgenden werde ich dann schulische Präventions- und Interventionsmaßnahmen vorstellen, die ich nach Maßnahmen für Schüler und/oder Lehrer und nach schulumfassenden Maßnahmen geordnet habe. Am Ende der Arbeit steht ein Resümee und ein Ausblick.
