As melodies from the Mariachis fill the air, dancing feet and singing voices join in a vibrant celebration. And when rain clouds gather, they don't dampen spirits, but rather offer the joy of splashing in puddles and waiting out the storm together. Mud-trapped cars? No problem! span style="font-size:16px;color:black;padding:0cm;background:white;"A ride in Daddy's iconic Lowrider Truck becomes a spontaneous adventure, filled with giggles and song. And as the evening unfurls, new parties beckon in the distance, leading to new rhythms, new friends, and more cherished moments. After all, it'span style="font-size: 16px; color: black; padding: 0cm; background: white; font-family: Oswald, sans-serif;"s never too late to join the fiesta, especially when a Lowrider Truck arrives in style.

Book Synopsis There's No Place Like Home by : Jean Studebaker
Download or read book There's No Place Like Home written by Jean Studebaker and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2011-06-29 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the 1950’s and 60’s, Kansas farm life meant milking cows, gathering eggs, and butchering hogs and steers. It meant raising a garden, preparing meals from scratch, sewing clothes, and churning butter. It meant living close to the earth. It was a special time when children could wander the pastures and fields without fear and come home dirty after a day of hard play and harder work. Farmers produced much of what they needed to live, and were almost completely self-sufficient. Farm life was basic, simple and sweet, and family was the most important thing. There’s No Place Like Home is the story of a Kansas farm family. It is the unique story of life in a different time and place, before technology and automation changed how things are done on the farm. It was a time when a farm life was a family project, and everyone contributed. A collection of anecdotes and oral histories, this story includes the tales of a childhood on a Kansas farm in the mid 20th century, and the joys and regrets for generations of such a life. It is the story of a life on the Kansas prairie, a celebration of the land and people of Kansas and a re-telling of the histories of one family, recounted around the kitchen table. It tells of the struggles, hopes and disappointments of life in a simpler time and place.

Book Synopsis The Season by : Hilda Bridget Turner

Book excerpt: I was born on February 8, 1951 in a small migrant camp town in Southeast Florida. This mostly hot sandy little community was called Indiantown. My mother was a nineteen years old along, who with her father David and other siblings, lived at this camp during the seasonal months of 1950. They worked picking vegetables out in the enormous fields owned by local farmers for what little money they could make. This money was to be taken back home to care for the rest of the family. Times were hard and the family needed money to make ends meet. My grandmother, Annie Mae, was at home, a two-hour drive north in central Florida. She was caring for all the younger children. David and Annie Mae came to Florida in 1950; their children would always tease them by saying . . . . "We left Carolina in 1949 and got to Florida in 1950". Of course it was late December when they left, and January 1st by the time they arrived.

Book Synopsis Through Windows of Time by : Charlotte G. Tucker
Download or read book Through Windows of Time written by Charlotte G. Tucker and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2014-06-10 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Growing up with my grandparents, Harley and Laura Krigbaum (Pa and Ma) was more than just an experience. It was life altering. This book is an effort to keep those memories alive and make them beneficial to others, especially my own children and grandchildren. Their trials were many and their days were often hard; yet, they seldom complained about anything. If we thought things were not fair or should be different, they reminded us to count our blessings and things would look different. This book is based on the lives and stories they told us over the years and much time spent with them. Pa could trace his family back as far as the Mayflower. His Great Grandfather William’s great, great grandfather, Conrad Krigbaum, had been an immigrant from Holland in the early 1600s. Ma’s family had always lived in the south and had not only lived though the civil war, but horrible Indian wars, as well. Her parents had died when she was fifteen. Somehow through all the pain, she would only show love to everyone. The stories have been passed from generation to generation. Ma and Pa were both born in 1893, about twenty eight years after the Civil War. His family was from the north and hers from the south. Both families had suffered unbearably but tried to put it all behind them and move on. The past was in the past. Much of this book is based on actual events or stories. The dates and family members are as accurate as I could find; although, some names may have been changed or left out. More of it is based on only sketches of what I can remember. With memory limitations, I have added details for a better story.
