Seu objetivo consiste em disponibilizar ferramentas para planejar, acompanhar e monitorar todo o processo do planejamento do sistema elétrico de distribuição, deste modo, minimizando os custos e os tempos envolvidos. Esta metodologia é aplicada num procedimento interativo de acompanhamento e monitoramento de projetos de P & D, visando mostrar todas as etapas que um projeto de P & D deve passar em uma concessionária de energia elétrica. Toda a parte de planejamento e controle é feita através do software Microsoft Project, aplicando os conceitos preconizados pelo PMBOK, quando fica evidente que um planejamento feito adequadamente propicia a menor quantidade de falhas, obtendo maior chance de sucesso na sua fase de execução.
