This book was released on 2003 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Stratabound Ore Deposits in the Andes by : Lluis Fontbote
Download or read book Stratabound Ore Deposits in the Andes written by Lluis Fontbote and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-27 with total page 812 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present volume Stratabound Ore Deposits in the Andes has its roots in an international seminar on stratabound ore deposits which took place in September 1986 in Cusco, Peru, sponsored by Multi ciencias (Peru) and UNESCO. During this seminar it became clear that the amount and quality of research done on stratabound ore deposits in the Andes required a synthesis. Researchers in industry and government as well as in academia, including many which had participated at the Cusco Seminar, were invited to contribute. The answer was extremely positive, confirming the idea that a book expressing the state of the art of the study of stratabound ore deposits in the Andes was long overdue. As editors we sought to give maximum coverage to the present knowledge, yet keeping the length, and thereby the price, within rea sonable limits. The book contains three types of contributions. In the first part the reader will find review papers focusing on ( 1) the geologic framework (Frutos), (2) the metallogenesis in Andean countries including also types of deposits differing from those of stratabound nature (Cardozo and Cedillo, Oyarzun), and (3) an in troductory overview of the stratabound ore deposits in the Andes, emphasizing their geotectonic position as a classification tool (Font bote).
Book Synopsis Hydrothermal Processes and Mineral Systems by : Franco Pirajno
Download or read book Hydrothermal Processes and Mineral Systems written by Franco Pirajno and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-10-14 with total page 1250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hydrothermal processes on Earth have played an important role in the evolution of our planet. These processes link the lithosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere in continuously evolving dynamic systems. Terrestrial hydrothermal processes have been active since water condensed to form the hydrosphere, most probably from about 4.4 Ga. The circulation of hot aqueous solution (hydrothermal systems) at, and below, the Earth’s surface is ultimately driven by magmatic heat. This book presents an in-depth review of hydrothermal proceses and systems that form beneath the oceans and in intracontinental rifts, continental margins and magmatic arcs. The interaction of hydrothermal fluids with rockwalls, the hydrophere and the biophere, together with changes in their composition through time and space, contribute to the formation of a wide range of mineral deposit types and associated wallrock alteration. On Earth, sites of hydrothermal activity support varied ecosystems based on a range of chemotrophic microorganisms both at surface and in the subsurface. This book also provides an overview of hydrothermal systems associated with meteorite impacts and explores the possibility that hydrothermal processes operate on other terrestrial planets, such as Mars, or satellites of the outer planets such as Titan and Europa. Possible analogues of extraterrestrial putative hydrothermal processes pose the intriguing question of whether primitive life, as we know it, may exist or existed in these planetary bodies. Audience: This volume will be of interest to scientists and researchers in geosciences and life sciences departments, as well as to professionals and scientists involved in mining and mineral exploration.

Book Synopsis The Geology of Ore Deposits by : John M. Guilbert
Download or read book The Geology of Ore Deposits written by John M. Guilbert and published by Waveland Press. This book was released on 2007-02-09 with total page 1000 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern civilizations dependence upon an increasing volume and diversity of minerals makes the search for new ore deposits ever more difficult. Now available from Waveland Press, Guilbert & Parks text presents ideas, principles, and data fundamental for beginning economic geologists to understand the genesis and localization of ore deposits and of the minerals associated with them. The authors comprehensively describe the physical and chemical characteristics of ore deposits and correlate them with environments and conditions of deposition, since ore deposits are best interpreted as extensions of the environments responsible for their enclosing rocks. Examples and illustrations emphasize structural, chemical, and temporal controls and encourage the three-dimensional thinking used by productive explorationists as they face unsolved problems. This upper-level undergraduate text is fully illustrated and meticulously indexed. Its reliable, authoritative coverage assumes an upper-level command of chemistry and physics, as well as mineralogy, petrology, and structural geology. Outstanding features . . . develops and combines the abilities of the explorationist and of the researcher of ore-forming processes structures the geologic descriptions into groupings recognized by researchers and explorers alike builds confidence, revitalizes curiosity, and encourages expanded thinking emphasizes that the days of easy discovery of outcropping ores are not over includes revised, expanded, and updated descriptions of districts
Book Synopsis Geological and Structural Setting, Age, and Geochemistry of the Orogenic Gold Deposits at the Pataz Province, Eastern Andean Cordillera, Peru by : Yves Haeberlin
Download or read book Geological and Structural Setting, Age, and Geochemistry of the Orogenic Gold Deposits at the Pataz Province, Eastern Andean Cordillera, Peru written by Yves Haeberlin and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Rapakivi Granites and Related Rocks by : Ilmari J Haapala
Download or read book Rapakivi Granites and Related Rocks written by Ilmari J Haapala and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2023-08-01 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rapakivi Granites and Related Rocks tells the story of Rapakivi granites, which are a group of granitic rocks characterized by specific texture (presence of plagioclase-mantled ovoidal to subhedral alkali feldspar megacrysts, two generations of quartz and feldspars) and A-type geochemical composition. Well-known representatives are the Proterozoic rapakivi granites that are found as anorogenic or post-orogenic batholith- to stock-sized intrusive complexes in the Precambrian cratons of Ukraine, Fennoscandia, South Greenland, Canada, United States, Brazil, Venezuela, and Siberia. The current knowledge of the rapakivi granites is largely based on the achievements of three International Geological Correlation Programme projects: IGCP-315 (Rapakivi Granites and Related Rocks) in in 1991-1996, IGCP-426 (Granite Systems and Proterozoic Lithospheric Processes) in 1998-2002, and IGCP-510 (A-type Granites and Related Rocks Through Time) in 2005-2009. After these projects, the research has continued actively utilizing enhanced geochemical methods, in situ geochemistry in particular. Rapakivi Granites and Related Rocks includes this research as well as abundant new geochemical and isotopic data combined with deeper understanding of geotectonic processes now allow more detailed tectonic and petrological modelling of the rapakivi granite magmatism and associated ore mineralization.
