This book was released on 1994-03-30 with total page 694 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ownership-based economics has led to the rapid development and apparent universal success of the market economy. It is a system built on the deception of resource availability, ill-defined profit, and misled by the idea that an invisible hand can be an equitable system of distribution. It has resulted in a high living standard for a few select individuals, but at the expense of mankind and nature, ultimately culminating in the development of human conflict. This is a book with a blueprint for the twenty-first century, proposing a two-fold approach to easing the pressure on both the human race and the world we live in. It calls for a change of mindset from ownership to stewardship and a shift of responsibility to the corporate entities as a sub-system of the market economy.

This book was released on 2008 with total page 1044 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Marcel Grossman Meetings are three-yearly forums that meet to discuss recent advances in gravitation, general relativity and relativistic field theories, emphasizing their mathematical foundations, physical predictions and experimental tests. These meetings aim to facilitate the exchange of ideas among scientists, to deepen our understanding of space-time structures, and to review the status of ongoing experiments and observations testing Einstein's theory of gravitation either from ground or space-based experiments. Since the first meeting in 1975 in Trieste, Italy, which was established by Remo Ruffini and Abdus Salam, the range of topics presented at these meetings has gradually widened to accommodate issues of major scientific interest, and attendance has grown to attract more than 900 participants from over 80 countries. This proceedings volume of the eleventh meeting in the series, held in Berlin in 2006, highlights and records the developments and applications of Einstein's theory in diverse areas ranging from fundamental field theories to particle physics, astrophysics and cosmology, made possible by unprecedented technological developments in experimental and observational techniques from space, ground and underground observatories. It provides a broad sampling of the current work in the field, especially relativistic astrophysics, including many reviews by leading figures in the research community
Book Synopsis Recent Developments in General Relativity by : B Casciaro
Download or read book Recent Developments in General Relativity written by B Casciaro and published by . This book was released on 2000-07-12 with total page 544 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is the result of the Italian conference on General Relativity, held in Italy in September 1998. One of the main features of this conference has been to bring together mathematicians and physicists, experts in different fields: General Relativity, Variational and Topological methods, Differential Geometry, Astrophysics. Classical and Quantum aspects of General Relativity have been debated and various new results have been presented. Perspectives on the search of Gravitational waves have been illustrated. These methods permit to study the geodesical connectedness of space-times and to relate to topological properties to the multiplicity of the geodesics joining two given events. Critical point Morse theory has been used to study light rays on Lorentzian manifolds and to interpret the gravitational lensing effect.

Download or read book General Relativity and Gravitational Physics written by Giampiero Esposito and published by American Institute of Physics. This book was released on 2005-03-29 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All papers were peer reviewed. Research advances in gravitation and general relativity are discussed, ranging from classical to quantum theories of gravity. Relativistic theories have become the basic model for new research fields encompassing importantexperiments and observations which represent a frontier on which Einstein's theory of gravity can be tested. This will provide some new insight into the field of gravitational physics. The proceedings will be a valuable source for advanced graduate students and research workers at all levels.
Book Synopsis Gravitational Theories Beyond General Relativity by : Iberê Kuntz
Download or read book Gravitational Theories Beyond General Relativity written by Iberê Kuntz and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-05-21 with total page 82 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite the success of general relativity in explaining classical gravitational phenomena, several problems at the interface between gravitation and high energy physics still remain open. The purpose of this thesis is to explore quantum gravity and its phenomenological consequences for dark matter, gravitational waves and inflation. A new formalism to classify gravitational theories based on their degrees of freedom is introduced and, in light of this classification, it is argued that dark matter is no different from modified gravity. Gravitational waves are shown to be damped due to quantum degrees of freedom. The consequences for gravitational wave events are also discussed. The non-minimal coupling of the Higgs boson to gravity is studied in connection with Starobinsky inflation and its implications for the vacuum instability problem is analyzed.
