Book excerpt: Is Justine crazy? Everyone thinks so... Her mother. The kids at school, and the teachers and administrators too. Even the police who pick her up from her night rambles. Maybe them most of all. Justine’s therapist says she is ‘troubled’, but it means the same thing. He thinks that her vivid, reoccurring nightmares and atrocious behavior point to some trauma in her past; but Em, Justine’s mother, can’t explain it. Justine used to have Christian, her best friend and skateboard partner. He was the only one who accepted her. Maybe because skating is the only time that Justine is really free to be herself. Now that Christian is gone… Justine keeps thinking things can’t get any worse. Even as she sees her life spinning further and further out of control, Justine can’t give up her sense of who she is—someone far different than the loving daughter Em expects her to be—to just fit in and be happy. She is sure that Em secretly holds the key to who Justine really is. But if she does, Em isn’t talking. —This book is a wonderful story filled with many twists and turns... it will keep you turning the pages until the wee hours of the morning. The end will blow you away. A great story. —As PD Workman draws you inside Justine's head you begin to wonder what really makes her act the way she does. Good luck trying to put the book down until you find out why... Book excerpt: From USA Today Bestselling Author, P.D. Workman! Getting old shouldn’t be a death sentence Kenzie thought she had a pretty good understanding of aging and elder care. She was a medical professional, after all. But when her postmortem findings cause her to look more deeply into the sometimes dark world of elder care, she is forced to reconsider. When she starts asking questions about legislation and regulation, things get nasty. Kenzie could just do what she’s told and stop asking questions. But when was the last time she did that? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Well written book with great characters, as always, and this time with very interesting topics that concern every one of us. The author manages to illuminate several problems from different sides like in a master’s thesis, but everything is wrapped into an entertaining story. Excellent! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I highly recommend this riveting thriller to anyone who enjoys well-edited, carefully researched stories featuring relatable and interesting characters. I am looking forward to the next-in-series. If you are a reader of the Zachary Goldman Mysteries series, you have already met Kenzie Kirsch. This series is a spinoff from Zachary Goldman Mysteries, giving Kenzie a front-and-center position in solving medical mysteries. Looking for a strong female lead in an engaging medical mystery? Award-winning and USA Today Bestselling Author P.D. Workman brings you an up-and-coming Medical Examiner’s Assistant who is right up your alley. Join Dr. Kenzie Kirsch as she uncovers mysteries, conspiracies, and thrills!

Book excerpt: The first three Medical Kidnap Files are gathered together into one compendium for your convenience and additional savings. You will find: Mito, Medical Kidnap Files #1 Gabriel has dealt with mysterious medical issues his whole life. Just when he finally thought that they had all of the answers and he was on the road to good health, he is apprehended by DFS on the grounds of medical neglect. At first, he thought that he would be back home in a few days, once the misunderstanding was cleared up. But when Renata tells Gabriel her crazy conspiracy theories, Gabriel feels the first pangs of doubt. Is there really a conspiracy? Will he ever be able to get well and go back to his mother, or is he doomed to be another guinea pig for Doctor De Klerk? EDS, Medical Kidnap Files #2 With a long string of unbelievable stories to explain her frequent injuries, Social Services sees Katt is the stereotypical abused child. When she is admitted to hospital with yet another broken bone, they do the only logical thing to protect her, removing Katt from her mother’s custody. But Katt and her mother know that something is wrong, and it has nothing to do with abuse, and the longer Katt stays in foster care, the worse her health gets. Can they get the answers they need before it is too late? Can they get the answers and get Katt back home? Proxy, Medical Kidnap Files #3 Fourteen year old Seth Wilcox has been admitted to the hospital forty-eight times, according to his mother’s latest social media posts, when Social Services steps in and takes Seth into care, believing his mother suffers from Munchausen by Proxy and Seth is not safe in her care. Gabriel Tate is now a veteran in dealing with medical kidnap and reuniting children with their families. He knows Seth and his mom, Leva, a tireless mitochondrial disorder advocate. He knows he needs to get Seth back to Leva as soon as he can. With the authorities hot on their trails, Gabriel and Renata face increasingly difficult challenges. Can they stay one step ahead of the authorities? Can they finally get Seth somewhere he will be safe?

Book excerpt: This book studies small but highly captivating artworks from antiquity – engraved gemstones. These objects had multiple applications, and the images upon them captured snapshots of people's beliefs, ideologies, and everyday occupations. They provide a unique perspective on the propaganda of Roman political leaders, especially Octavian/Augustus.

Book excerpt: Awareness is increasing about medical kidnap, the practice of children being apprehended from their parents due to medical conditions. It is happening far more often than you would like to think. This fiction series is about the children who fall victim to this practice, their families, and a small group of teens who are fighting back! Follow Gabriel and Renata as they fight against an unfair and corrupt system, trying to save themselves and others from doctors, social workers, and judges who are more interested in profit than justice and the safety of their charges. The plot was FANTASTIC. I’ve read a lot of stories about foster children, but never anything quite like what happens in Mito. I never even realized that medical kidnap could very well be a thing happening “behind the scenes” in foster care, but after reading this book my mind is blown. I just. Wow. I don’t want to go into a whole lot of detail so I think I might stop this review here, but, gah. I can’t even form words I’m so freaking mind blown. This book was amazing!! Britt, Goodreads Reader Highly recommended! I’m decades past being a “young adult” and find the books in this series to be riveting. They are expertly crafted, with well developed characters and intriguing plots. I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series. Kim, Goodreads Reader
