This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Relativistic effects are of major importance for understanding the properties of heavier atoms and molecules. Volumes I-III of Relativistic Theory of Atoms and Molecules constitute the only available bibliography on related calculations. In Volume III, 3792 new references covering 1993-1999 are added to the database. The material is characterized by an analysis of the respective papers. The volume gives the user a comprehensive bibliography on relativistic atomic and molecular calculations, including studies on the Dirac equation and related solid-state work.
Book Synopsis Endohedral Fullerenes: Electron Transfer and Spin by : Alexey A. Popov
Download or read book Endohedral Fullerenes: Electron Transfer and Spin written by Alexey A. Popov and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-07-28 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book discusses recent progress in endohedral fullerenes – their production and separation techniques, as well as their characterization and properties. Furthermore, the book delves into the all-important issue of stability by investigating electron transfer between the encapsulated metal species and the carbon cage. It also reviews spin-based phenomena caused by the shielding of endohedral spin by the fullerene, and analyzes formation of the spin states by charge transfer as studied by electron spin resonance. Tuning of charge states of endohedral species and of spin states of both the cage and the cluster are explained. Finally, the book considers the recent discovery of magnetism in some endohedral fullerenes, and the potential for quantum computing.
Download or read book Crystal Growth written by A.W. Vere and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1988-05-31 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the second in a series of scientific textbooks designed to cover advances in selected research fields from a basic and general viewpoint, so that only limited knowledge is required to understand the significance of recent developments. Further assistance for the non-specialist is provided by the summary of abstracts in Part 2, which includes many of the major papers published in the research field. Crystal Growth of Semiconductor Materials has been the subject of numerous books and reviews and the fundamental principles are now well-established. We are concerned chiefly with the deposition of atoms onto a suitable surface - crystal growth - and the generation of faults in the atomic structure during growth and subsequent cooling to room temperature - crystal defect structure. In this book I have attempted to show that whilst the fundamentals of these processes are relatively simple, the complexities of the interactions involved and the individuality of different materials systems and growth processes have ensured that experimentally verifiable predictions from scientific principles have met with only limited success - good crystal growth remains an art. However, recent advances, which include the reduction of growth temperatures, the reduction or elimination of reactant transport variables and the use of better-controlled energy sources to promote specific reactions, are leading to simplified growth systems.
Book Synopsis Emerging Energetic Materials: Synthesis, Physicochemical, and Detonation Properties by : Dabir S. Viswanath

Potential technologies applicable for treatment of contaminated wastestreams from manufacturing facilities and environmental matrices are also be included. This book provides the reader an insight into the depth and breadth of theoreticaland empirical models and experimental techniques currently being developed in thefield of energetic materials. It presents the latest research by DoD engineers andscientists, and some of DoD’s academic and industrial researcher partners. The topicsexplored and the simulations developed or modified for the purposes of energetics mayfind application in other closely related fields, such as the pharmaceutical industry. One of the key features of the book is the treatment of wastewaters generated duringmanufacturing of these energetic materials.
Book Synopsis Alternative Catalytic Materials by : Justin S J Hargreaves
Download or read book Alternative Catalytic Materials written by Justin S J Hargreaves and published by Royal Society of Chemistry. This book was released on 2018-07-11 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many important industrial chemical processes rely heavily on catalysis and so researchers are always on the lookout for alternative catalytic materials that may improve existing processes or lead to new ones. Families of alternative catalytic materials currently being investigated include the carbides, nitrides and phosphides as well as amorphous boron catalysts. The addition of carbon, nitrogen or phosphorous to transition metals and the creation of boron-transition metal alloys leads to catalytic materials that have interesting properties, with applications in a range of different reactions, including electrocatalysis. This book provides a comprehensive account of the preparation, characterisation and application of these catalytic materials. It is an important reference for researchers and industrialists working in heterogeneous catalysis and materials chemistry.
