Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Bible Study through Hebrews Wow! What an amazing book of the Bible! All of Gods word is so pertinent to our lives today. It provides strength, courage, and hope. It also offers correction and edification that in our present time we would be able to stand, complete and fully equipped. Gods word keeps us ever mindful of His majesty, His sovereignty, and His incredible grace as He ever faithfully meets with, leads, and provides for His people. The book of Hebrews is such a powerful message of Gods truths and His eternal plan of redemption for a lost peopleyou and I. Not only are we blessed with amazing understanding as we delve into such wonderful questions such as: Who are angels? By what order was Jesus called High Priest? What is the difference between the priestly order under the law verses Melchizedek? What six elementary principles does the author have us address and why? And can you lose your salvation? There is so much to learn from Hebrews, and I assure you I could not begin to touch a fraction of it. Yet my prayer, my hope, is that after you have turned these pages, you too will be assured of Gods beautiful promise, His unfailing love, and His perfect plan for us, His children.

Book excerpt: A Bible Study through Romans Oh the depth of this letter to the Roman believers by the apostle Paul, where we, each one of us can see ourselves, maybe even our old selves revealed, and the Way, the Truth, and Gods transforming power that has and continues to save and change us. Yes all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Why? Because we have, each and every one, inherited a (the) sin nature, disobedience, from the fall, from the one man. And because of this we all, again, were enemies of God, afar off and at enmity. Yet in His great love for us we learn that even while we were His enemies, God gave His only Son to die on a cross that we might have our sins forgiven; if we believe. Now we have a new nature, a new man, alongside the old, that can grow in grace and strength and cause the old nature to be buried. At least as much as is possible in these mortal and fleshly bodies: and as much as we are willing to yield to the Spirits leading, and obey. Who are those who are without excuse? Who are those who are inexcusable? Is there any hope for those who God has given over? I think maybe. Who are the branches, and who does the wild olive tree refer to? What was the hoped outcome in provoking the Jews to jealousy? We read of works versus grace; of the war between the mind and the Spirit, and that even when we are unfaithful, God is faithful; He cannot deny Himself. Wow! Just pause for a moment and absorb that. What an amazing God we serve! What a beautiful, strong, encouraging, convicting, challenging and promise filled letter Paul has written. Yes, I understand that I have scarcely touched the surface. Still my prayer is for even a fraction of Gods message, His power, love and teaching will come through this study. I confess that I know so little, but He is so big! Please Father might all who work through these pages see You, and embrace all that You in Christ Jesus have done for us. May You be lifted up and praised and adored for You. In the power of Jesus name I pray and thank You for this privilege. Amen.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Revelation focuses on the big picture that reveals what God wants his bond servants to know concerning their destiny. In The Revelation, God's thunder sounds and probes the future of his kingdom from the ascension of Jesus to his Second Coming. At a point in time to be determined by God, the faithful church that stands with Jesus on Mount Zion will hear his welcoming call "Come up here!" This call will herald the end of the church age. These redeemed souls will be led by Jesus to a special place he has prepared for them. All the rest of humanity will be left behind to endure God's wrath era. The unsaved souls who are left behind will hear their destiny at the Great White Throne Judgment. This final judgment to be executed by God will mark the end of times, and eternity for the redeemed saints will begin. The thousand years pictures Satan in solitary confinement in the "bottomless pit." Simultaneously, the saints reign with Jesus in the place he has prepared for them. After the thousand years is complete, Satan will be cast summarily into the lake of fire and brimstone. God will then declare, "It is done," and the New Jerusalem will enter eternity as God's holy city on the new heaven and the new earth. In The Revelation, this big picture is opened for all the saints to contemplate. Read on...

Book excerpt: No greater privilege has been proffered mankind than the solemn opportunity to step personally into the Throne room of Heaven to address the God of the universe in personal conversation. It is utterly amazing that such a privilege has been ignored, abused, misused and misunderstood by so many. The divine invitation is clearly expressed in scripture. We are invited to speak as a child to the Father. Entrance to God's presence is available through the mediation of the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. To aid us in coveying our burden to the Father, the Holy Spirit readily intercedes on our behalf. The time of prayer is not to be taken lightly, but because of entrance to prayer in Jesus' name we are encouraged to come with boldness and confidence. Thankfully in this age, God's throne is portrayed as a throne of grace and we can come before Him at any time with the certainty of His love, compassion, interest and understanding as He receives our praises and petitions. Too many have by-passed biblical instruction on prayer and thereby missed the intended blessings that await the humble saint who comes--Before the Throne of Grace. "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Growing up the son of agnostics, John Koessler saw a Catholic church on one end of the street and a Baptist on the other. In the no-man’s land between the two, this curious outside wondered about the God they worshipped—and began a lifelong search to comprehend the grace and mystery of God. A Stranger in the House of God addresses fundamental questions and struggles faced by spiritual seekers and mature believers. Like a contemporary Pilgrim’s Progress, it traces the author’s journey and explores his experiences with both charismatic and evangelical Christianity. It also describes his transformation from religious outsider to ordained pastor. John Koessler provides a poignant and often humorous window into the interior of the soul as he describes his journey from doubt and struggle with the church to personal faith

Book excerpt: The unpardonable sin is lurking like a deadly shark preying on its next unsuspecting meal. ... Will you be its next victim? One of the most confusing and debated teachings of the Bible is the unpardonable sin, found in Matthew 12:31: "Every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men." Some attribute this frightening sin to cursing the name of God, while others believe it has to do with murder. Whatever it is, millions of Christians live in fear that they've committed it and have no real hope. But even worse, others might be close to living beyond God's mercy and don't even know it! What is the Bible truth about the unpardonable sin? What is so awful about it and why can't God forgive it? You don't need to guess! Pastor Doug Batchelor tackles these questions to give you all the information you need to know about this perplexing topic. Not only will you get clear and penetrating answers, you'll discover new hope and a strategy to stay right with God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Did Jesus claim to be the "bridegroom"? If so, what did he mean by this claim? When Jesus says that the wedding guests should not fast "while the bridegroom is with them" (Mark 2:19), he is claiming to be a bridegroom by intentionally alluding to a rich tradition from the Hebrew Bible. By eating and drinking with "tax collectors and other sinners," Jesus was inviting people to join him in celebrating the eschatological banquet. While there is no single text in the Hebrew Bible or the literature of the Second Temple Period which states the "messiah is like a bridegroom," the elements for such a claim are present in several texts in Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Hosea. By claiming that his ministry was an ongoing wedding celebration he signaled the end of the Exile and the restoration of Israel to her position as the Lord's beloved wife. This book argues that Jesus combined the tradition of an eschatological banquet with a marriage metaphor in order to describe the end of the Exile as a wedding banquet.
