Book excerpt: The pages of my book tell not only of my journey, but also of the journeys of those that have crossed my path along the road of life. Each poem presented tells a unique story --stories of great pain, suffering, and disappointment; stories of magnificent joy, peace, and triumph. I ask you to pause and reflect as you read each poem, and follow the road that has led me to where I am today. Many of the poems included were written years ago and describe times that are no more. They were included for a specific reason: to help someone going through similar times today to find peace. Others were written quite recently and speak of modern-day events and challenges. It is my thought that others will find themselves embedded in these works as well. Some are quite personal and deal solely with my experiences, thoughts, beliefs, life, and times. Others are written through the eyes of those around me, as I allowed myself to craft words to imagine and describe the thoughts and feelings of others. All were written with great emotion, time, energy, and care. I pray that all poems touch readers in ways that bring peace and encourage love.

Book excerpt: This autobiographical novel is a fusion of the author's heritage and a recollection of the life-altering event that potentially could have destroyed her life. From the outset of the story [which takes us back to the depression years and her father's exploits during World War II] the reader gets the impression that this is not the real message there is something much deeper going on. This curiosity about "what really happened" keeps the reader turning the pages, only to discover the heart-breaking story of cruelty and total disregard for a young girl's life. Many times people feel isolated and alone while being surrounded by the family and friends who think they know them best. The main character of this novel is such a person. Her sense of worthlessness and self-loathing lead to many acts of self-destruction as she desperately tries to terminate her tortured life. Such stories have become all too common and have the potential to destroy the hopes and dreams of their victims. Fortunately for the readers of this book the story does not stop at that point. It offers an understanding of how victims can find a way out of the hell in which they have been placed and become restored to wholeness once again. It is the story of a second chance to have a normal life filled with all the happiness and endless blessings God intended all people to enjoy. "From My Lips to God's Ears has stirred-up many emotions within me. To open-up and tell aspects of your life takes great courage. It has made me realize that we are quick to judge when we really don't know what has gone on in a person's life. I also believe that we have at least one good book in us, but are probably not prepared to bare our souls as M.A. Walker has. The bottom line is that God knows each book that is in us, and He alone will judge the story we have to tell. Great book, please read!" - Fred Myers

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hello, my name is Dr. Ralph Stowe. I have written a book that I believe will be of great interest to you. Why should you even consider a book written by me. Well, let me share with you some of my credentials. I was raised in a Swedish Baptist church in Joliet, Illinois, Bethel Baptist Church. My mother ensured that I got to Sunday School every Sunday. I even received a 9-year pin for consistent attendance. At age 13 I was saved. My father was a carpenter and taught me good work ethics and the skills necessary to earn my education. My first degree was a BS in Mathematics from Illinois Institute of Technology. While there I was privileged to eat dinner in the new cafe. The motif was knotty pine with carved graffiti covering the walls. At the table at which I was eating, the wall read "Zeus Saves." I was shocked. But upon muse, realized that that is exactly what separates Christianity from all other religions. . . our God is a God of His Word! He gives us salvation we do not earn it. He tells us exactly how to communicate with Him in His Word. Since that time I have earned four doctorates and have presented, written, and authored over 50 papers and articles. I have written 3 books and hold a U. S. Patent. My early career focused upon scientific activities, learning how to investigate, evaluate, and present information without skewing the view by my beliefs. This book is written with that benefit to the reader. It is God's Word about how to communicate with Him. Every book has an intended audience. This book is no exception. It is for the Believer in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as their Redeemer. The book is not filled with heart moving stories. It is not filled with personal examples of supernatural events. It simply presents the Word of God supporting each chapter heading. The first chapter clearly states the steps necessary to be in the intended audience for any who start to read the book and are not in the "group" intended. The book then goes on to investigate. Who are we in relationship to God? The book sites scripture to explain we are set apart by the Father when we believe and accept Jesus the Christ as our Savior, Redeemer, Lord, and Brother. He has made us free from all the power of Satan. Sixteen scriptures from 12 different books of the Bible state we are the sons of the Living God when we make Jesus the Lord of our life. There are only two families in the earth: Those who have made Jesus Lord of their lives, and those who have not. We are delivered from darkness and our identification is with the all powerful God and His Son, our brother. Every thought, word, and action gives allegiance to one or the other of the two families. We need to be careful to identify with the Righteousness of the Lord of Life. So, are you identifying with the fallen Adam in sin or with the resurrected righteousness through Jesus? Who is the High Priest over your house? From Your Lips to God's Ear answers with specific scriptures. An example of how you might pray a prayer of salvation is outlined. "What does 'Prayer' mean in God's Word?" is addressed. If we are going to pray to God, it would be wise for us to know what that really means. Tradition may or may not have it right. A look at some scholarly understanding of what the original words meant and the flavor of what the words were intended to convey is presented. The Authorized King James version of the verses in which the words are used is offered for the reader's convenience. For the rest of us, suffice it to say that prayer is a verbal communication or petition. We can praise God or say His words back to Him in a petition. Another chapter addresses Effective Prayer. There are ideas about prayer that are not scriptural. The book presents safeguards that God built into the prayer system, not to keep us out but to keep Satan from taking advantage of us. From Your Lips to God's Ear presents scriptures that show that by not

I suggest that you select one each day, at random and you might find that it is the right one for whatever situation you are experiencing on that very day. When it comes to prayer and our quiet time with God, most of us simply want to talk -- to tell God about all of our hopes, desires, painful hurts and sorrows. While God desperately wants to hear from us, once in a great while someone comes along to remind us again that more of our time with God should be spent listening rather than talking. Agnes Davis has accomplished that in From Gods Mouth to My Ears. What a gift she has provided to us as she shares her deepest moments with God! I have found these brief devotionals to be uplifting, encouraging, and challenging. This is a much needed work that many of us have searched for for a long time. Rev. Joe A. Walker

Book excerpt: Is it possible for a person to hear the voice of God? This is not a strange phenomenon. The Bible records how men, women, and children experienced a deep personal walk with a living God. He is not a God of the dead but of the living. The Bible teaches that the Spirit of God lives inside of every born-again believer. (John 14:16-17) From God's Lips to My Ears is a book of conversations from a Living God to one of His children. In this book, readers will have the opportunity to sit with the author and her Lord and hear the gracious words fall from His lips.

Book excerpt: A theologically grounded treatment of what it means to be close to God Numerous Christian books aim to provide guidance on relationships with God, but few base their conclusions on a biblical theology of intimacy. In this volume, Tim Anderson develops a biblical and holistic portrait of nearness to God, exploring key themes like God's Trinitarian union, the fall, God's fatherhood, marriage imagery, suffering, and our relationship with the Holy Spirit. A concluding chapter examines contemporary Christian songs that address oneness with God and evaluates their theological messages in light of the previous chapters. Into His Presence is a helpful guide for pursuing intimacy with God and distinguishing contemporary cultural understandings of close relationships from those communicated in Scripture.
