Book excerpt: We all have the power to improve, filling us with love, peace, and happiness. We are no less of a person due to any illness. Our personal goals can be achieved with coping tools described and demonstrated in Journey. Suggestions, thoughts, advice, and encouragement toward recovery are given through my life expertise. I will guide you to your potential power and recovery. This easy-to-read true story is not geared toward just the mentally ill but also any ailing soul and for health care providers. Differing from most books, I show exactly what its like to live through years of hardships and struggles from the perspective of the mentally ill. I have graphically and explicitly detailed the unimaginable pain and suffering of myself and many others. Journey is highly instrumental in understanding and coping with an illness and can be a great aid for caregivers in supporting the needy. I demonstrate paths to a happy, constructive, and prosperous life. My experiences with violence, rape, anorexia, depression, suicide, psychosis, self-mutilation, and more are explained, as I reach out to others with compassion and support.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book of poems is a personal journey written from daily reflections and looking back through the pages of my life, by putting pen to paper I have been able to deal with the pain and heartache from incidents out of my control, the beauty that surrounds me that is God created and the utmost joy and pleasure that is part of my life as I learn, grow and develop into a person I can be proud of. I wish to thank the encouragement from my daughter Kimberley who has collaborated with me in putting this book together, my husband Colin who has lovingly allowed me to use him as a sounding board and last but not least David whose insatiable thirst for prose pushed me into putting it all out there for others to read. If it inspires just one other women to search her being and find the courage to put pen to paper and take the journey within and let her spirit soar and lay to rest her pain and share her joy then my job is done.

In Sociology, A Masters in Education Counseling and Guidance. I also ran a dog kennel for twenty years at Kidder. I had five employees and made One Million dollars the year that I decided to sell the kennel and go back into counseling. My husband was ill and the market was still good for selling dogs. My degrees all came from the University of Missouri at K.C. I was a scholarship student and a University fellow. All my tuition was paid by the University and Scholarships. I took two courses in Forensic Science and Criminology from Wentworth College in Missouri after I retired before I took a job at the prison teaching GED programs at the prison in Cameron Missouri. Book Synopsis A Fantastic Journey by : Paul Murray
Download or read book A Fantastic Journey written by Paul Murray and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 1993 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lafcadio Hearn (1850-1904) has long been marginalised as a failed Victorian Romantic whose writings on Japan were poetic but inconsequential; as a person, he emerges as a one-dimensional neurotic. In this new study, based on a wealth of hitherto unpublished sources, as well as a fresh reading of Hearn's writings, Paul Murray reveals a multi-faceted character of considerable depth, intelligence and literary skill. This is a book, therefore, that will appeal on many levels. The story of Hearn's life makes fascinating reading; his fantastic journey took him from conception outside marriage on a Greek island to a protected upbringing in Dublin; from a Gothic education in England to Cincinnati in the United States where, as Paddy Hearn, he established himself as a journalist of the macabre par excellence. In New Orleans, in the 1860s, he transformed himself into Lafcadio Hearn, litterateur and a man of the South. Finally after two years in the West Indies, he spent the last fourteen years of his life in Japan - arriving in 'the land of the gods' in the spring of 1890. Although it was always to be an ambiguous relationship with his adopted country, Hearn gave to the world some of the most valuable and enduring insights into Japanese society and culture that continue to stand the test of time. For students of the Anglo-Irish tradition, a little explored strand of Hearn's heritage, this book is also essential reading, providing substantial insights into Hearn's mastery of the literary horror genre. Equally, students of Japan will want to understand, for the first time, the make-up and motivation of one of its greatest ever Western interpreters.

Book excerpt: Since I was a child, Ive been communicating with the angelic realm. Theyve revealed their presence in many ways, warning me through dreams of events to come and guiding my footsteps along the way. As I grew older, I learned that I could tune in to their frequency, allowing me to receive their messages more clearly. Their presence led me on a journey to self-discovery, allowing me to recognize and break repetitive and harmful patterns, to trust in myself again, and to discover my souls purpose as a healer. It is a story of inner strength and faith, and as I continue on my journey, I know that I am not alone, and that the angels walk with me.
