Book excerpt: "Freedom is a monetary matter" explores the social and economic consequences of monetary inflation in the current financial system and provides a comparison in various areas to a system based on sound money (money without inflation). The book has a strong foundation in world history and its major cycles. Rising prices, growing lines at the food bank, major corporations generating billions of dollars in revenues, an increasing threat of war; This book is written for people that want to figure out how to connect the dots in an accelerating chain of seemingly senseless and unconnected world events. Equipped with the overall framework as described in this book, these events will become very understandable and even predictable. It will also become very clear in what way inflation has determined the course of history and how history tells us, that we can expect increasing instability of the current monetary system. In this book you will read how bitcoin — a digitally sound money that dissipates inflation — fits into this picture. It also becomes clear what we can do for our personal financial security in the times ahead.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dr Canfield has turned the critical eye of his lifelong experience in business to the all-important subject of money. If there's one commodity that makes the world go round, there is little doubt that it has to be money. Money rules. Money touches our lives at every turn. Money is the dominant force in the distribution and enjoyment of power and it has become the essential oil that lubricates the wheels of commerce across the globe. It is the very stuff of freedom. So why do so many many have so little? There's an unbelievable amount of money in the world, so much that it's impossible to imagine its vastness, its reach and its power. Yet most of us seem unfairly condemned to live our lives with too little, enduring the daily struggle to make ends meet and always wishing we had more. In short, money matters and this book is devoted to the concepts of acquiring more. The route is sometimes surprising, often thought-provoking and always based on the author's practical experience of mastering the art of creating wealth. The book explores: The best ways to take control of your life How to create meaningful goals that can become your compass in life The powerful connection between your attitude, your beliefs and the results you achieve Banishing the fears that block your progress and success How to test your attitude towards risk, success and your working environment Becoming financially independent Strategies for creating personal wealth Understanding the concept of personal freedom Putting your money to work for you Learning to enjoy the rewards There is very little practical help in our education system that equips us to master the forces of money in our lives. We live according to conventions that strangely condition us to expect a lack of resources and these negatively-biased attitudes profoundly effect our capacity to generate and enjoy our real potential for wealth. Once we accept that we can create change in our lives, we can harness our energy and our creativity to produce the results that truly reflect our aims and ambitions. Once we have moved towards the higher ground of greater freedom and financial independence, we can put our money into play on our behalf and enjoy the proceeds that flow from investing our capital and putting our assets to work for us. The book discusses a broad range of opportunities for increasing wealth, from starting an Internet business to owning properties to writing for fun and for profit. The principles have been well established by countless numbers of successful people around the world, people who have learned to turn their lives into a cash-rich adventure that offers fulfilment and a profound sense of achievement at every level of their lives. These are the building blocks of freedom and the foundation of a lifestyle that allows time for the really enjoyable and important things in life. Dr Canfield believes that everyone deserves to know the secrets of making life a much better experience, a richer, more satisfying journey, a pathway that offers the trappings and comforts of real wealth and the joy of living life to the full. His example is the living proof of how to live the dream. now, it's your turn to reap the benefits of your own latent potential. And that moment starts right now.

This book was released on 2011-01-03 with total page 283 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: G. A. Cohen was one of the most gifted, influential, and progressive voices in contemporary political philosophy. At the time of his death in 2009, he had plans to bring together a number of his most significant papers. This is the first of three volumes to realize those plans. Drawing on three decades of work, it contains previously uncollected articles that have shaped many of the central debates in political philosophy, as well as papers published here for the first time. In these pieces, Cohen asks what egalitarians have most reason to equalize, he considers the relationship between freedom and property, and he reflects upon ideal theory and political practice. Included here are classic essays such as "Equality of What?" and "Capitalism, Freedom, and the Proletariat," along with more recent contributions such as "Fairness and Legitimacy in Justice," "Freedom and Money," and the previously unpublished "How to Do Political Philosophy." On ample display throughout are the clarity, rigor, conviction, and wit for which Cohen was renowned. Together, these essays demonstrate how his work provides a powerful account of liberty and equality to the left of Ronald Dworkin, John Rawls, Amartya Sen, and Isaiah Berlin.

Book excerpt: I've thought about and have written about the Federal Reserve for a long time. I became fascinated with the monetary issue in the 1960s, having come across the Austrian economists, especially Hayek and Mises, and I was very impressed with August 15, 1971, because the predictions made in the 1960s came about. As a matter of fact, Henry Hazlitt made that prediction in 1944 when the Bretton Woods system was set up. He said it wouldn't work and it would fall apart -- and it did -- so that was a strong confirmation. But even after all these years of studying and reading and trying to figure out the monetary system, I have come to the conclusion that the Federal Reserve is unconstitutional -- and we don't need it (Paul 2009). So with that approach I have worked hard in Congress for sound money.
