Book excerpt: He expected searing heat. He expected acid rain. He even expected the sunburn from hell. What he doesn’t expect is to meet the most prickly, irritating, and fascinating girl he’s ever known. Kerit never wanted to explore the universe, or even go into space. Not like his space force captain brother. But somehow he finds himself following him half way across the galaxy to help terraform an inhospitable planet. Maybe he does have something to prove after all. Folly has plenty to prove, but the most salient is to find her father's ship and show that he was a brilliant scientist. Accompanied by her cheeky albino pet skuttle, Chicken, she doesn't need any more help, certainly not from the cute stranger who thinks he knows what is best for her. But shadows lurk in the ruined city, and Kerit and Folly realise someone—or something—is hunting them. Can they survive long enough to find out if their attraction is more than just surface deep?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Suicide has been a public health crisis for at least the last two decades. When this book was first published in 2007, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), suicide was the third leading cause of death for youths ages 15 to 24, and the fourth leading cause of death for youths ages 10 to 14. Suicide rates have steadily increased so much that, since 2017, it is the second leading cause of death for youths in both age groups, 15-24, 10-14. The rate of suicide attempts has increased even more rapidly over the last two decades, by more than 400%. The U.S. data captured by the CDC is an unfortunate reflection of a global epidemic of suicide. As author Osborne explains, existing approaches to preventing youth suicide have had little impact on reducing the number of suicides and suicide attempts across America. While there are countries with suicide rates higher than the U.S., there are even more countries with rates that are lower. What can we, and should we, seek to learn from countries with much lower suicide rates than the U.S., countries like Barbados, Jamaica, Italy, Peru, and Panama? Like many youths, Electra is a well-loved, beautiful, highly intelligent teenager. By unveiling the private thoughts of a suicidal teenager in this unprecedented book, Osborne hopes that Electra’s diary, which spans 7 years from age 15 to 22, will provide an understanding of the adolescent mind that will spur more effective means to recognize, treat, and heal those at risk, and so vastly reduce suicide among our youth.

Book excerpt: In 2130, the god we worship is the wrong god; the science we believe in is not complete, and Raphael Aronson has given up the presidency of the United World Republic to his friend Uri Levinson. The Mustard Seed 2130, the third in the Mustard Seed trilogy, is a science-fiction adventure novel that is centered around a totally new, literal and factual interpretation of the Christian religion; how it is explained in scriptures and how it is supported by scientific fact. Morgan Baez and her friend, former president Raphael Aronson, with a handpicked group are attacked by an organization led by Rod Baez, Morgan’s adopted son. The story proceeds from Washington DC, to Newfoundland, through Hawaii and to Tel Meggido where the final unexpected war is to be fought, or not. Aronson has found out that technology is the same as human genetics, scripture is science, war is the same as peace, and god is not God. He and his friends are guided by a mysterious recluse, who calls himself a Watcher, on a trip through human history and pre-history; how mankind progressed from “a curious little biped” through genetic manipulation to become one of the most powerful entities on Earth, from scientific Adam and Eve into the third millennium AD where the politics of greed and falsehood nearly destroyed mankind in a flash of worldwide war. And he has found the top of the food chain, but it is not who he expected. Baez and the group follow the lead of a Watcher into the prophesies of the Book of Revelation only to find a surprise at the end where they find that the Theory of Relativity, the Parable of the Mustard Seed, and the Book of Revelation are the answers to humanity’s current existence and the explanation of our future.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a German philosopher once said: “Believing is not knowing”. Since, we live in a physical, hard, cold, cruel material world, it is a highly important subject matter, and a definite reality strug-gling, striving, and spending good portion of time to deal with it, literally makes life impossible to be straight forward, fair, and honest even with our own selves. Life, alarming us to wake up to realities, be smart creature, learn how to socialize, improvise, compromise, curb individual, inner desire, and control personal acts to fit into society, where we live or be ready to pay the painful price. It is an accidental event, neither to celebrate, nor to take it seriously to mourn over, but learn to live, and tolerate it the best one knows how. With human limited intelligence, it is impossible to decode its secret, or find any meaning for it, in fact life is a huge gambling table, whoever has been born lucky to throw the winning dice, is the winner for rest of losers to suffer bad luck. There are, no true, actual, real justice, good and evil, or right and wrong, but whoever has the power come out the winner. It is not only so very wrong to be right in a wrong world, but extremely confusing, sad, and, painful.

He leads Rodger Rodgers on a trail of deceit and misdirection, while gradually accomplishing his goals. His subterfuge is aided by the ego of his forced accomplice, Rodgers. Steadily solving problems using both magic and double meaning information, GolGanth works toward his target in secrecy. While seeming to fix one thing, he successfully misleads our hero in the proper direction. Several humorous setbacks are encountered, generated by misunderstanding. Despite numerous obvious clues, the (would-be) savior goes through the story in a haze of oblivion, as he misinterprets nearly everything. This is credited to his sarcastic, flippant attitude, which he uses as a tool to lighten the seriousness of the situation.
