Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you look around at our world today, you can clearly see how it is falling apart politically and spiritually. Satan has stepped in and attempted to turn once on their knees crying out to the Lord prayer warriors into doubting Christians. Why is that? Is it because we think or believe that God does not care about us any more or is it that we have totally forgotten who Christ is and who we are in Christ Jesus? At this very moment there is a dire need for Christians to make a stand and proclaim to the world that CHRIST IS LORD! God wants you to know who HE is and at the same time for you to have a complete understanding of your Spiritual Calling, Spiritual Gifting and your life’s Purpose that will be effective and beneficial not only to you and others but more importantly to the kingdom. HIS desire is for you to make a huge spiritual impact on the world, at least on those who are around you. You have a unique calling and purpose placed upon your life designed by GOD Himself. In “The Call For Vessels For Christ” Minister Paul Phillips explain ways in which you can discover, step into your purpose and spiritual plan and operate in your destiny. He discusses topics such as: 1. How to recognize, answer and fulfil the Spiritual Calling and Spiritual giftings God has placed upon your life. 2. How to operate and effectively utilize what God has for you that will be beneficial to you, your Family, the Kingdom and Others 3. How to truly understand your life’s purpose and plan that will lead you to your divine destiny 4. How to become a true Vessel for Christ You have been called to make an impact on the world, at least on those who are around you. The time is now for we as Christian believers to accept our calling and stand together as Vessels for Christ and proclaim to the world, “CHRIST IS LORD!”

Book excerpt: This book discusses autonomous spacecraft navigation based on X-ray pulsars, analyzing how to process X-ray pulsar signals, how to simulate them, and how to estimate the pulse’s time of arrival based on epoch folding. In turn, the book presents a range of X-ray pulsar-based spacecraft positioning/time-keeping/attitude determination methods. It also describes the error transmission mechanism of the X-ray pulsar-based navigation system and its corresponding compensation methods. Further, the book introduces readers to navigation based on multiple measurement information fusion, such as X-ray pulsar/traditional celestial body integrated navigation and X-ray pulsar/INS integrated navigation. As such, it offers readers extensive information on both the theory and applications of X-ray pulsar-based navigation, and reflects the latest developments in China and abroad.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis combines a theoretical model of galaxy formation with a treatment of the radiative transfer in the titular dusty star-forming galaxies. Embedding this within the well-established ΛCDM (Lambda cold dark matter) cosmology, the author was able to simulate galaxy populations from which realistic observational images were synthesised. Based on further analysis, he shows that there is a good correspondence with observations from new instruments such as the SCUBA2 bolometric camera and the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) interferometer, and reveals some novel aspects of this exciting galaxy population. In particular, he shows that blending of these galaxies in the imaging produces an artificial enhancement in their clustering, which he dubs “blending bias”. This implies that the host dark matter halo masses for these galaxies have previously been significantly overestimated. He also presents amongst the first predictions from a galaxy formation model for observations of these galaxies that will be made by the James Webb Space Telescope (the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The dictionary contains about 30,000 vernacular and literary English names of plants (plus a few American), both wild and cultivated, with their botanical name and a brief account of the names' meaning if known. It was conceived as part of the author's wider interest in plant and tree lore, and ethnobotanical studies. Knowledge of plant names can give insight into largely forgotten beliefs. Why for example is, or was, the common red poppy known as "Blind Man"? An old superstition has it that if the poppy were put to the eyes it would cause blindness. Such names were probably the result of some taboo against picking the plant. Similarly, other names were likely to have been applied as a result of a country mother's warning to her children against eating poisonous berries. For the warning carries more weight when the name given to the berry reinforces the warning. Many such plants or fruits may be ascribed to the devil, Devil's Berries for Deadly Nightshade is an example. Names may also be purely descriptive, and can also serve to explain the meaning of the botanical name. Beauty-Berry is an example: it is the name given to the American shrub that belongs to the genus Callicarpa, which is made up of two Greek words that mean beauty and berry. Literary, or "book" names, have also been included in this dictionary, as being a very important part of the whole. Many of them provide links in the transmission of words through the ages. Thor's Beard, for example, is a book name for "houseleek", and has never been used in the dialect. But it highlights the legend that houseleek is a lightning plant, and by reverse logic is a preserver from fire.

Book excerpt: In my 2. book in the English language "Confessions" I continue right down the road of the memory lane, both past and present. And it has once more been with a lot of mixed feelings to write these biographical poems, because some of them goes deep and hurts inside, by refreshing them from the memory. But fortunately, there has been both sad and joyful memories in my life, which the poems also reflect. And you know, in a strange way it has been a nice therapeutic relief to get rid of. Sometimes it is good for the mental health for a person to take a good look inside oneself and clean up all the drawers and cabinets the memory bank, to erase all the bad and negative things and get on with life, because you can not use it for anything anyway Enjoy. This i a powerfull book of alkoholabuse, drama and love.

Book excerpt: This thesis addresses two of the central processes which underpin the formation of galaxies: the formation of stars and the injection of energy into the interstellar medium from supernovae, called feedback. In her work Claudia Lagos has completely overhauled the treatment of these processes in simulations of galaxy formation. Her thesis makes two major breakthroughs, and represents the first major steps forward in these areas in more than a decade. Her work has enabled, for the first time, predictions to be made which can be compared against new observations which probe the neutral gas content of galaxies, opening up a completely novel way to constrain the models. The treatment of feedback from supernovae, and how this removes material from the interstellar medium, is also likely to have a lasting impact on the field. Claudia Lagos Ph.D. thesis was nominated by the Institute for Computational Cosmology at Durham University as an outstanding Ph.D. thesis 2012.

Book excerpt: Early Modern English Lexicography presents for the first time a census of printed monolingual glossaries and dictionaries published from 1475 to 1640, together with a systematic bibliographical description of these works. The lemmatical material is listed alphabetically and documented according to the criteria of the Oxford English Dictionary. A second volume compiles additions and corrections to the Oxford English Dictionary documentation never before published, and discusses in detail lexicographical aspects pertinent to assembling this material. More than 5,000 main entries comprise neologisms, antedatings, post-datings, unregistered senses, additional citations, and corrections. Special attention is devoted to the question of lexical transmission through sources often overlooked in the Oxford English Dictionary. The volumes have been conceived as a specialized preliminary study of the growth and development of English lexicography in the Early Modern English period.
