Book excerpt: Ex-Special Forces soldier and mercenary Flo Michetti is bored with her assignment as a pilot for the genetically engineered Badari pack in their fight against the evil Khagrish scientists. She jumps at the chance to take a dangerous undercover mission. She infiltrates a group of human prisoners on their way to a secret lab in the southern ocean, where the Badari believe many more of their own kind have been created and are being experimented on. Once Flo has located the lab, found the Alpha among the Badari there and sent a report back, the plan will be to attack and rescue all the prisoners. Arriving at the island Flo learns the true nature of the horrific experiment for which the humans have been brought to this remote location. Time will be perilously short to escape before it’s too late for all of them. She has to locate the Alpha of this captive southern pack, who conceals his identity to escape death at the hands of the Khagrish, and get him to join with her and her allies. Daegan feels an instant attraction to Flo when the Badari and the humans are forced together by the Khagrish scientists, but there are mysteries and questions surrounding her. Before he reveals himself as the incognito Alpha she’s seeking, he wants answers to allay his doubts. He also wants Flo in his bed…but can he risk his heart to claim her as his mate? Complicating the situation is a dangerous rival for Daegan’s position as Alpha, an oncoming hurricane and Flo’s resistance to abandoning her life as a soldier of fortune…as the Khagrish scientists prepare to initiate the experiment, the clock is ticking for humans and Badari alike. Author Note: There is an incident in this novel where a supporting character unsuccessfully attempts to commit suicide by drowning. This is the eleventh book in the Badari Warriors world (and the tenth book in the numbered series) and each novel has a satisfying Happy for Now ending for the hero and heroine, not a cliffhanger. Some overarching issues do remain unresolved in each book since this is an ongoing series but romance always wins the day in my novels! Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imagine . . . a new lease on life? New York City , the near future: John Smith is a simple, 46-year-old artist who is lives a semi-reclusive existence in NYC. Stricken with cancer, Smiths undergoes a dramatic change when he falls prey to a covert, cutting-edge government project. Now, with his body suddenly cancer-free but his mind in chaos, John Smith sets out to find the answers to the questions about his new life. But when he falls in love with a beautiful young woman, his search for the truth takes an unusual twist. Suddenly willing to accept things as they are, Smith tries to put his past behind him and live a simple and normal existence. On his trail, however, is an evil, sadistic U.S. government whose sights are set on global domination, and those plans require the involvement of Smith as well as his new found extraordinary abilities. The greatest sci-fi novels in existence are actually blunt social commentaries in sleek clothing, and W.L. Smiths debut novel is no different. In a stunning debut offering, W.L. Smith pens a tale that mirrors the qualities of the greatest sci-fi novels in existence: an intricate storyline laden with compelling characters, brisk momentum, and a scathing commentary on human society. A powerful fable about human societys dark future, and the essence of human life, MACHINE MAN: GENESIS, is one explosive, thought-provoking thriller; one that could soon find its way to the movie theaters in the near future. She’s found a fascinating distraction from her empty nest in researching family history and genealogy. And it seems that she can put her genealogy-sleuth skills to work, helping her friend Dr. Flo Gadney, a retired professor, track down her own family tree. Their search takes them to an old graveyard on an island off the coast of Georgia—just as greedy local patriarch Burch Bayard is about to start building sparkly new McMansions all over the island—including the gravesite—a property scheme that would literally bury any local history. But as they hunt for clues to Flo's past, the two friends soon realize that the islanders are trying to keep Flo's connection to Bayard Island dead and buried along with her ancestors! The mysterious murder of a combative local confirms their suspicions, forcing the women to embark on a dangerous chase to unravel the truth. Together, Katherine and Flo will dig up more than Georgia dirt, unearthing secrets to the island's history that could make the whole town crumble.

When the fifty-something housewife goes undercover at a restaurant to solve the case, she quickly learns that if the killer doesn’t get her, the calories will. When the owner of Lucille’s favorite pizzeria drops dead at her feet, she’s left wondering who could have harmed such a kind man—and wondering where she’ll get her favorite food now. Deciding to go undercover as a pizza maker to sniff out the clues—and maybe an extra slice or two—Lucille’s determined to track down the culprit before they can strike again. As the hunt for the killer heats up, Lucille and her friend Flo dig deeper into the crime and discover a jealous wife, a competitive pizza man who would kill for more business, and a decades-old mystery that may hold the key to the murder. Trouble is, the one person who could break the case wide open is a nun who took a vow of silence—and she’s not talking. “If you want a very funny murder mystery, then this book is for you. I've never laughed so hard while reading before.” —Goodreads, on Unholy Matrimony, Book 2 in the Lucille Mystery Series

Everyone wants to have healthy relationships. But too many women who've gone through divorce find themselves feeling lost and unsure about how to move forward into readiness for strong future relationships. Barbie and Richard Armenta both have plenty of brokenness in their pasts. Richard's party lifestyle put him one step away from disaster time and time again. Barbie's two failed marriages and other dating relationships left her desperate for affirmation from men. When they came to Christ, they each had to figure out what it meant to live for Him in their dating lives. It was during this process that they found each other-and discovered that adding God's love to theirs was the right combination for lasting love. For those who have experienced divorce, long to heal emotionally and spiritually, and yearn for true intimacy, The Right Combination is a shout of hope. The Armentas ground their work in Scripture and pose thoughtful questions to women, encouraging them to begin their own process of discovering who they are in Christ and what it really means to live and date God's way.

Book excerpt: “[Le Carré’s] novels are so brilliant because they’re emotionally and psychologically absolutely true, but of course they’re novels.” —New York Times Book Review A thrilling tale for our times from the undisputed master of the spy genre Nat, a 47 year-old veteran of Britain’s Secret Intelligence Service, believes his years as an agent runner are over. He is back in London with his wife, the long-suffering Prue. But with the growing threat from Moscow Centre, the office has one more job for him. Nat is to take over The Haven, a defunct substation of London General with a rag-tag band of spies. The only bright light on the team is young Florence, who has her eye on Russia Department and a Ukrainian oligarch with a finger in the Russia pie. Nat is not only a spy, he is a passionate badminton player. His regular Monday evening opponent is half his age: the introspective and solitary Ed. Ed hates Brexit, hates Trump and hates his job at some soulless media agency. And it is Ed, of all unlikely people, who will take Prue, Florence and Nat himself down the path of political anger that will ensnare them all. Agent Running in the Field is a chilling portrait of our time, now heartbreaking, now darkly humorous, told to us with unflagging tension by the greatest chronicler of our age.
