Since then, the interest in the mechanisms by which reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS/RNS) can modulate the cell’s response has tremendously grown, paralleling the intense efforts towards identifying new signaling pathways in which phosphorylation/dephosphorylation events take center stage.
