Book excerpt: Christ Centered Universalism has been a Hope in First Christianity among the earliest orthodox Christians as testified even as late in St. Augustine of Hippo's infamous quote in that even he didn't call them as heretics but soft hearted Christians who did not deny Holy Scripture. A form of Christian Universalism by Origen of Alexandria may have been condemned by a later council. For protestants, please take note that both St. Augustine and that later council consists of members who Pray to Virgin Mary something which is absent from even Origen of Alexandria. Therefore, just because something is majority by later early Christianity it does not necessarily mean that it was First Christianity Doctrine. In light of this, we discuss various viewpoints, quotes by Church Fathers and Ancient Christian Writings in support of this Hope. Since the time lapse and loss of records to these First Christians being replaced by later Christianity is hard to trace or prove due to scarcity of evidences, nevertheless we endeavour to present as much as we can including some rarely known quotes within Christian Universalism Hopefuls itself. An example of a set of rare quotes which point to Christ Centered Universalism in this book which may not be popularly known is that by St. Hillary of Poitiers, the Champion of Trinity in the West and a set of interesting quotes likewise by St. Ignatius of Antioch who was a direct disciple if St. John the Apostle of Christ himself. We see traces of such an understanding in a quote by St. Justin Martyr toward the Wicked being made subject to obey God eventually as one child while St. Ireneous of Lyons has a few interesting quotes especially those that relate to the Concept of Ages/Aeons/Olam to come where in a particular instance, St. Ireneus clearly shows that the strongest phrase "ages of Ages" refers to the subset "ages" out of a larger set of "Ages" implying limitedness. Just like God of Abraham does not limit God to Abraham only, the phrase God's Glory to the Age/Aeon/Olam (singular) need not limit God's Glory to one Age only but may be highlighting it for that Age (unknown long time period). We do not need to teach it as a 100% certain doctrine but we may hope for it as the Bible Verses can also be understood consistently to present this Hope in some Way. One Day we will know and all things are possible with God Who Alone Decides. Peace to you.

This book was released on 2020-01-01 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Book of 1Enoch is the one which is quoted word for word by Apostle Jude in the Bible. There are other types of Enoch labelled today as 2Enoch etc. which are different. Many of the earlier fathers of the Church such as St. Justin Martyr, St. Ireneous of Lyons, St. Clement of Alexandria, Tertullian, Origen of Alexandria and even the Epistle of Barnabas considered this Book of 1Enoch as Scripture. Till today, some Churches consider this Book as part of the Biblical Canon. In this Book, we explore an interesting prophecy in Chapter 50 (of a well known translation of this book) which may Speak of a Christ Centered Universalism Hope in some way. In support of that exegesis, we look a few possibly related Bible Verses and even other similar First Christianity Writings which may help us understand this Prophecy better. Since it's not in one of the 66 Books of the Bible, we don't explicitly teach it as a 100% certain doctrine but view it as a possibility. This does not mean that the Prophecy is probabilistic but rather that we don't know for sure. Only God knows but studying these First Christianity Orthodox writings gives an insight to such a rarely known Hope within Christianity. Peace to you.

This book was released on 2021-01-07 with total page 530 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Book is written to highlight some First Christian Perspectives regarding Almsgiving and Atonement. We do not believe that Almsgiving can remove sins as only the Blood of Christ can do that making us “New” in the “Resurrection” where we ‘taste the powers of the age to come now’ by His Mercy. We do believe that Almsgiving does remove some Judgment of sins. Regardless of how Scriptural one might argue, we all point to ‘men of God’ which history sets before us as the ‘founding persons’ of certain theology or exegesis. So if God used John Calvin (as almost all protestants will agree) and John Calvin in turn points to St. Augustine, then if St. Augustine contemplated these same doctrinal points to some extent and is not a heretic, so we contemplating on these possibilities likewise to even a deeper extent without concluding anything must likewise be not deemed as ‘false teachers’, right? If this Book causes your faith in Christ to stumble in any way, we encourage you to stop reading but if it increases, solidifies or increases your faith in Lord Jesus Christ, we exhort you to continue reading it in any way that may be beneficial as you may seek our Most Blessed Saviour and Pray for His Leading in this accordingly. Thank you for reading it & Peace to you!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book combines all the information offered by Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and to some extent Paul in creating an easy to read harmonious account of the One Gospel. The book is divided into 259 chronological pericopes each of which has been ascribed a date and sometimes a day of the week and approximate time. Maps show not only where important events happened, but also the chronological footsteps of the Messiah. Because of the logical arrangement of the data within the account of the One Gospel, it is easy to remember where an event occurred within the four Passovers of Jesus's career. It is also easy to build lists of repetitive events. In doing this it was discovered that John writing about AD 98 added to 14 data lists containing seven events thereby putting his seal on the New Testament because the probability of this happening by chance is one in 30 trillion. The book also has insightful informational and theological notes. Whether you are reading the Gospel for the first or the hundredth time, you are bound to profit by doing so via Ron Banuk's "One Gospel in Clear English." The author's scholarship shines through in his comments on the biblical text on every page, as does his love and appreciation for the Lord, his God, and for His life-giving Word. -Stephen A. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How can we transmit a living, personal Catholic faith to future generations? By coming to know Jesus Christ, and following him as his disciples. These are times of immense challenge and immense opportunity for the Catholic Church. Consider these statistics for the United States. Only 30 percent of Americans who were raised Catholic are still practicing. Fully 10 percent of all adults in America are ex-Catholics. The number of marriages celebrated in the Church decreased dramatically, by nearly 60 percent, between 1972 and 2010. Only 60 percent of Catholics believe in a personal God. If the Church is to reverse these trends, the evangelizers must first be evangelized-in other words, Catholics-in-the-pew must make a conscious choice to know and follow Jesus before they can draw others to him. This work of discipleship lies at the heart of Forming Intentional Disciples, a book designed to help Church leaders, parish staff and all Catholics transform parish life from within. Drawing upon her fifteen years of experience with the Catherine of Siena Institute, Sherry Weddell leads readers through steps that will help Catholics enter more deeply into a relationship with God and the river of apostolic creativity, charisms, and vocation that flow from that relationship for the sake of the Church and the world. Learn about the five thresholds of postmodern conversion, how to open a conversation about faith and belief, how to ask thought-provoking questions and establish an atmosphere of trust, when to tell the Great Story of Jesus, how to help someone respond to God's call to intentional discipleship, and much more. And be prepared for conversion because when life at the parish level changes, the life of the whole Church will change.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Goicoechea presents his third volume in a series on agape. In this book he shows in four ways how the agape of Jesus fulfills the ahava and hesed of the Hebrew Bible. First, he shows existentially how he learned and lived this for six years in a Benedictine Minor Seminary and then for three years in a Sulpician Major Seminary. Second, he demonstrates how ahava or our love for God and neighbor and hesed or God's love for us develop through the Hebrew Bible. Goicoechea argues that St. Matthew's Gospel explains the fulfilment of ahava and hesed with Jesus' agape. He concludes by drawing attention to how Levinas and Derrida, two Jewish postmodern philosophers, treat Jewish and Christian love.

By coming to know Jesus Christ, and following him as his disciples. As we emerge from a pandemic into a post-Christian world, these are times of immense challenge and enormous opportunity for the Catholic Church in the United States. Consider these statistics: Fully 10 percent of all adults in America are ex-Catholics. Nearly three-quarters of young Catholics think that they could be a good Catholic without going to Mass every Sunday. Catholic marriages have declined by almost two thirds since 1969, even as the number of Catholics in the United States has grown significantly. Only one third of Catholics believe that the bread and wine actually become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ at the consecration during Mass. If the Church is to reverse these trends, the evangelizers must first be evangelized. In other words, Catholics in the pew must make a conscious choice to know and follow Jesus before they can draw others to him. Ten years after it was first published, Forming Intentional Disciples is still helping scores of Church leaders, parish staff, and all Catholics transform parish life from within. World-renowned author and speaker Sherry Weddell leads you through the steps that will help Catholics enter more deeply into a relationship with God and the river of apostolic creativity, charisms, and vocation that flow from that relationship for the sake of the Church and the world.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Secret Scrolls is the very first examination of some forty novels in which someone discovers a new gospel. Sometimes it turns out to be a hoax; will it be debunked before it can work its mischief? If it proves genuine, will it be brought to light? Or will corrupt church officials manage to prevent it? The book evaluates what each author has to say about historical Jesus scholarship or New Testament research in general. Sometimes the authors have done their homework; other times they haven't bothered, and they wind up dishing up crazy rewrites of history and outlandish theories. These novels deal with abiding issues of faith, even without some new discovery. As soon as one engages in biblical apologetics, one has stepped onto the marshy ground of probabilistic arguments, an entirely different epistemology that automatically replaces simple faith. And so one comes to hold one's religious convictions more tentatively, having become genuinely vulnerable to new evidence. One may not remain a believer for long. On the other hand, one invites fanaticism if one's faith is dangerously predicated on the assurance that no new discovery will send one back to the drawing board. Secret Scrolls assesses what each author imagines it would take to derail and debunk Christianity. How mighty a blow must be dealt before the religion would fall? Dan Brown's notion that a married Jesus would debunk the Nicene Creed is laughable. As Wilbert Francis Howard once argued in his brief and fascinating history of New Testament research, there is a genuine romance of New Testament scholarship, and many of us are delighted to have the adventure continue in the speculative imaginations of capable novelists. These books can both entertain and educate, and so will Secret Scrolls.
