Meine Arbeit ist im Bereich der Allgemeinen Psychologie II, im Feld der Motivation zu verorten, da ich mittels der Zwei-Faktoren-Theorie von Herzberg die Arbeitsbedingungen des Lehrkörpers auf deren Arbeitsmotivationssteigerung hin untersuche. Jeder Mensch hat das Recht auf Bildung. Mittels der Vollzeitschulpflicht sichert Deutschland das Recht auf Bildung für jeden deutschen Staatsbürger. Um dies zu gewährleisten, sind ausgebildete Lehrkörper vorgesehen. Im Schuljahr 2018/2019 weist Deutschland 773.280 Lehrer und Lehrerinnen in Voll- und Teilzeitbeschäftigung auf. Jedoch ist bis 2030 mit einem Lehrermangel von 3.580 Pädagogen für alle Lehrämter zu rechnen. Somit ist es ungewiss, ob Deutschland das Recht auf Bildung 2030 noch gewährleisten kann, wenn nicht genügend Lehrer/-innen zur Verfügung stehen. Doch was sind die Ursachen dafür, dass sich nicht genügend Personen für einen Lehramt-Beruf entscheiden oder diese Laufbahn gar beenden. In meiner Arbeit möchte ich aufgrund dieser erschreckenden Prognose von 2030, auf die negativen Arbeitsbedingungen von Lehrkräften eingehen, um herauszufinden, ob diese möglicherweise für den bevorstehenden Lehrermangel mitverantwortlich sind. Als Rahmen werde ich das Zwei-Faktoren-Modell von Herzberg heranziehen, um die Wirkung der gegebenen Arbeitsbedingungen, auf die Arbeitsmotivation einordnen und bewerten zu können. Herzberg hat die Bedingungen am Arbeitsplatz genutzt, um die Arbeitszufriedenheit zu prognostizieren, welche er in enger Verbindung mit der Motivation sieht, die Arbeit auszuführen. Die Arbeitszufriedenheit ist somit ein wichtiger Bestandteil, um Motivation zu erlangen, zu halten, einen Beruf somit anzustreben und auch langfristig auszuüben. Ich werde mich ausschließlich mit den Hygienefaktoren der Zwei-Faktoren-Theorie beschäftigen, da Herzberg diese bei Vorhandensein, als Grundgerüst eines nicht unzufriedenen Mitarbeiters beschreibt und die mangelhaften Arbeitsbedingungen des Lehrberufs in dieser Kategorie zu verorten sind.

This edited volume Age-differentiated Work Systems provides a final report on a six-year priority program funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and presents selected research findings of 17 interdisciplinary project teams. Book excerpt: Anthropologists have written a great deal about the coastal adaptations and seafaring traditions of Pacific Islanders, but have had much less to say about the significance of rivers for Pacific island culture, livelihood and identity. The authors of this collection seek to fill that gap in the ethnographic record by drawing attention to the deep historical attachments of island communities to rivers, and the ways in which those attachments are changing in response to various forms of economic development and social change. In addition to making a unique contribution to Pacific island ethnography, the authors of this volume speak to a global set of issues of immense importance to a world in which water scarcity, conflict, pollution and the degradation of riparian environments afflict growing numbers of people. Several authors take a political ecology approach to their topic, but the emphasis here is less on hydro-politics than on the cultural meaning of rivers to the communities we describe. How has the cultural significance of rivers shifted as a result of colonisation, development and nation-building? How do people whose identities are fundamentally rooted in their relationship to a particular river renegotiate that relationship when the river is dammed to generate hydro-power or polluted by mining activities?
