L’objectif de ce travail était de déterminer quels étaient les facteurs individuels, environnementaux et psychopathologiques associés à cette addiction chez les adolescents. Matériel et Méthode:Cette étude transversale a été réalisée entre janvier et juin 2014 auprès de deux populations: 60 adolescents suivis en pédopsychiatrie (CH de Chinon et CHRU de Tours), et 180 adolescents recrutés dans deux collèges et deux lycées d’Indre-et-Loire. Pour chaque adolescent, des auto-questionnaires ont permis de mesurer l’addiction à Internet(Internet Addiction Test, score seuil de 50), les caractéristiques individuelles et environnementales, les modalités d’utilisation d’Internet, l’addiction aux jeux vidéo(Problem Video Game Playing), les addictions aux substances psycho-actives (Hooked On Nicotine Checklist, test de Fagerström, Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test, Cannabis Abuse ScreeningTest), l’addiction à l’alimentation (Yale Food Addiction Scale), le jeu pathologique (Indice Canadien du Jeu Excessif), le Trouble Déficitaire de l’Attention avec Hyperactivité = TDAH (Wender Utah Rating Scale et Adult ADHD Self Report Scale 6 items), la dépression et l’anxiété (General Health Questionnaire = GHQ 28 items), ainsi que la personnalité (Big Five Inventory = BFI 45 items). Résultats:87 adolescents (36.3%) avaient une addiction à Internet, respectivement 23 (38.3%) en population clinique et 64 (35.6%) en population générale. Dans les deux populations, l’addiction à Internet était significativement associée à l’addiction aux jeux-vidéos, à une durée plus élevée de connexion à Internet. Dans la population générale, une addiction à Internet était associée à un score plus élevé dans trois des quatre sous-échelles du GHQ (dépression sévère, anxiété-insomnie, symptômes somatiques), à un nombre plus élevé de critères d’addiction à l’alimentation, au diagnostic de TDAH, ainsi qu’à un caractère consciencieux faible (BFI), ce qui n’était pas le cas en population clinique. En régression linéaire multiple, seuls ces trois derniers facteurs étaient des prédicteurs indépendants d’addiction à Internet(en population générale). Discussion:Nos résultats soulignent la forte association entre addiction à Internet, personnalité, TDAH et addiction à l’alimentation. Des études ultérieures sont nécessaires pour déterminer des éventuelles associations causales entre ces facteurs.

In 1993, the first version of these guidelines, titled: ‘An outline for the management of alcohol problems: Quality assurance in the treatment of drug dependence project’ was published (Mattick & Jarvis 1993). The Australian Government commissioned an update a decade later (Shand et al. 2003) and a further edition in 2009 to integrate the Guidelines with the Australian Guidelines to Reduce Health Risks from Drinking Alcohol (National Health and Medical Research Council, NHMRC 2009; Haber et al., 2009). The present version of the Guidelines was also commissioned by the Commonwealth of Australia to remain current and integrated with the updated NHMRC consumption guidelines (2020). In order to ensure that guidelines remain relevant, the next set of guidelines should be updated in 2025, consistent with NHMRC recommendation that guidelines be updated every five years. These guidelines aim to provide up-to-date, evidence-based information to clinicians on available treatments for people with alcohol problems and are largely directed towards individual clinicians in practice, such as primary care physicians (general practitioners, nursing staff), specialist medical practitioners, psychologists and other counsellors, and other health professionals. Some chapters highlight service or system level issues that impact on clinicians and their patients. These include recommendations concerning Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, stigma, and discrimination. Elsewhere, organisation capacity is implied, such as medical resources for withdrawal management where recommendations indicate use of medications. As all forms of treatment will not be readily available or suitable for all populations or settings, these guidelines may require interpretation and adaptation.
