You cannot control the storms of life, but you can make your boat strong to face every storm. This book details a vivid account of a remarkable testimony of Dr. Samuel V.A. Kisseadoo regarding a tragic event that erupted during his summer 2009 annual mission trip to Ghana, West Africa. He got food poisoning from a meal consumed in a restaurant after a Pastor's and Church Leaders seminar that he usually conducts as part of his ministerial activities. An ensuing violent vomiting created more catastrophic events for his digestive system that ultimately cause the collapse of his lung and a near death experience. Dr. Kisseadoo narrates the grace, healing power, deliverance, and the mighty power of God that sustained him through the ordeal, and has made him the longest survived individual in the medical history of the entire world for such a health problem. The details include the remarkable role played by his dear wife Henrietta and family, and many friends, especially the Christian community. Rev. Dr. Samuel Kisseadoo is a Chartered Biologist (CBiol) certified by the Royal Society of Biology (UK). He holds a B.S. (Hons.) degree in Biology (KNUST, Ghana, 1977), M.S. degree in Ecology (KNUST Ghana), M.S. degree in Botany (Aberdeen Univ., Scotland), and M.S. degree in Environmental Science (Delft, Holland); Master of Philosophy in Biology (City Univ. of New York), Ph.D. in Biology (City University of New York, 1993), certificate in DNA Technology from Cold Springs Harbor Lab in Long Island (New York), and certificate in Parent Empowerment Leadership Training from the City of New York. Dr. Kisseadoo received a "Leading Scientist of the World Award" from the International Biographic Center in United Kingdom in 2007, for his years of excellent teaching and research with students. He has ministered to thousands of people since 1969, especially in Africa, Europe, and North America, and was ordained as a licensed Minister in New York in 1992. He is the founder and President of the evangelistic and teaching Christian organization Fruitful Ministries International Inc. (FM Int.). He is also an international evangelist, marriage and family counselor, author, singer, prayer minister, bible teacher, and conference speaker. He is currently a professor of Biology in the USA. His weekly radio broadcast on JOY 99.7 FM (accessed on the internet with MYJOYONLINE.COM) at 5:30am-6am on Saturdays in Accra, Ghana, is received around the world. Dr. Kisseadoo is happily married for 40 years to his dear wife and best friend Henrietta, and they have two children.

We can become angry at God for our problems or we can look to Him to see us through the storms. God does not cause every storm, but He is aware of each and every one that happens in our life. He is never caught off-guard nor surprised when a storm comes; and He is more than able to take control of any situation we face, if we will only allow Him to do so.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Winner of the Small Business Book Awards from Small Business Trends 2013 The Sydney Hobart Yacht Race is among the most demanding sailing competitions in the world. Unpredictable seas make the 628-nautical-mile course grueling under the best conditions, but the 1998 race proved to be the most perilous to date when a sudden and violent storm struck. Winds gusted over 100 mph and monstrous 80-foot waves towered over boat masts. Six sailors perished and another 55 were saved in what became the largest search and rescue operation in Australia's history. In the face of turmoil and tragedy, a crew of "amateur" sailors piloted their tiny vessel, the AFR Midnight Rambler, not only to the finish but to overall victory. While bigger, better-equipped yachts attempted to maneuver around the storm, Ed Psaltis and his crew made the daring decision to head directly into its path. Their triumph--perhaps even their survival--owes itself to an extraordinary level of teamwork: an alchemy of cooperation, trust, planning, and execution. Into the Storm chronicles their nearly four-day ordeal and draws parallels to the world of business, revealing 10 critical strategies for teamwork at the edge. Illustrated with examples from the story and compelling case studies, the book sheds light on what teams need to do to succeed in tough times. Finally, Into the Storm provides resources and tools to support teams as they navigate the chaotic seas of business today.

There are situations that arise in life that may feel like a storm. Tomorrow isn't promised, and if we're fortunate to behold it, we should be prepared, for not only the natural storms we may encounter but also the spiritual warfare and battles we face daily. With God, all things are possible. With him, we can endure and weather any storm we may encounter. As a forecast has been predicted, let us watch and pray. We can learn to prepare for life's storms and brace for the impact. We can stand guard with spiritual armor on and utilize battle strategies to withstand the attack and weather the storm. Even in the aftermath, when we are filled with questions and trying to sort out the next steps, we can have confidence in the Lord who is mightier than any storm we face. We will make it through the storm, whether a pandemic, temptations, or general life stressors. Accepting God and his aid is the best decision one could ever make. Storms have a way of sensitizing us to the struggles of others. Together we can weather life's storms. We are in a race--on your mark, get set, go. Let us continue in this Christian race, our personal stormathon to run.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I very much know that when we or our loved ones are going through some tough experiences, like a prolonged sickness, what we want to hear and what we want to know is that God still cares--to feel His closeness and to know He knows what we are going through. We want to know that God hears our prayers even in the middle of the night when no one else is there. What I strongly believe is that not a single prayer slips by God, because there's no time of day He isn't listening. God heard you ten years ago, and He heard you last week, and He hears you right now, and He's already listening for your tomorrow. In fact, He's listening so well, He already knows what you're going to say. I also know very well that God never says, "Oops." God is in control of the trials. God is not on his throne wringing his hands as he waits for the outcome of events. Take from it me, my friend: no matter how dysfunctional your background, how broke or broken you are, where you are today, or what anyone else says, you matter to our living God.

Book excerpt: This “engrossing” (The Wall Street Journal) national bestseller and true “heartbreaking tale of tragedy and redemption” (Hampton Sides, bestselling author of Ghost Soldiers) reveals how a discovered diary—found during a brutal World War II battle—changed our war-torn society’s perceptions of Japan. May 1943. The Battle of Attu—called “The Forgotten Battle” by World War II veterans—was raging on the Aleutian island with an Arctic cold, impenetrable fog, and rocketing winds that combined to create some of the worst weather on Earth. Both American and Japanese forces tirelessly fought in a yearlong campaign, with both sides suffering thousands of casualties. Included in this number was a Japanese medic whose war diary would lead a Silver Star–winning American soldier to find solace for his own tortured soul. The doctor’s name was Paul Nobuo Tatsuguchi, a Hiroshima native who had graduated from college and medical school in California. He loved America, but was called to enlist in the Imperial Army of his native Japan. Heartsick, wary of war, yet devoted to Japan, Tatsuguchi performed his duties and kept a diary of events as they unfolded—never knowing that it would be found by an American soldier named Dick Laird. Laird, a hardy, resilient underground coal miner, enlisted in the US Army to escape the crushing poverty of his native Appalachia. In a devastating mountainside attack in Alaska, Laird was forced to make a fateful decision, one that saved him and his comrades, but haunted him for years. Tatsuguchi’s diary was later translated and distributed among US soldiers. It showed the common humanity on both sides of the battle. But it also ignited fierce controversy that is still debated today. After forty years, Laird was determined to return it to the family and find peace with Tatsuguchi’s daughter, Laura Tatsuguchi Davis. Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Mark Obmascik “writes with tremendous grace about a forgotten part of our history, telling the same story from two opposing points of view—perhaps the only way warfare can truly be understood” (Helen Thorpe, author of Soldier Girls).

Book excerpt: Life takes it out of you. But the reset you’ve been desperate for is within reach. Writer and Bible teacher Jen Wise knew that holistic faith—that reaches into every facet of life—is what brings grace and renewal. But she didn’t begin to live this truth until her world fractured. So as she searched Scripture for a better way, she discovered Jesus’ invitation for just that: small steps able to lead us into a bright new beginning. So to the woman who feels her all is never enough, The Bright Life is your invitation to a new start. You were created to be healthy, strong, vibrant, and to rest in the unforced rhythms of grace Jesus so lovingly makes available to us all. Come along and learn how to avoid habits that seem smart but are deceptively self-sabotaging, pick up habits of wholeness that actually stick, and try surprising ways to practice kindness toward yourself and generosity toward loved ones. The Bright Life extends a daily invitation with striking insights, tips to reclaim your energy, and a three-part practice of looking inward, upward, and outward as you step into a brighter way. This 40-day reset weaves story and Scripture together to cultivate a peaceful place where, through the attentive love of Jesus, you can experience the unforced rhythms of grace.

This book was written to encourage and strengthen those going through their personal storm. When we are going through a storm it can look hopeless, but it is not. Actually, you can learn to control and overcome the storms you face today. I am not talking about positive thinking, but Biblical solutions. The Bible has solutions for every storm you are facing. I have dug into the Bible for you and unearthed these precious solutions. They are not complex, but simple to apply methods for overcoming any storm you face. Satan is throwing out storms at every believer today, but Jesus Christ walks in the storm with us. We are not alone, but accompanied by the King of the Universe. Jesus is still in control and will remain in control. Jesus also wants you to learn how to control storms as He did. It is time to take dominion as He did and exercise your authority as a believer in Jesus Christ. In conclusion, through this book you will learn about hope and authority. How to have hope in the midst of a storm and how to take authority over the storms in your life. In this book you will also learn how to do self-deliverance. I have provided a detailed explanation of the various kinds of evil spirits we fight with. Included in this book is a self-deliverance prayer accompanied with a full list of demons. You will also learn how to rebuke things that are out of alignment in your life. Your tongue is key in exercising authority over your personal storm. You will learn how to use it effectively to control, overcome and even defeat storms. May you be blessed by the presence of the Prince of Peace as you read. Amen.
