Book Synopsis Expected Annual Flood Damage Computation - EAD. Users Manual. Revision by : Harold E. Kubik
Download or read book Expected Annual Flood Damage Computation - EAD. Users Manual. Revision written by Harold E. Kubik and published by . This book was released on 1984 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: EAD performs damage computations required in the economic evaluation of flood plain management plans which can be part of multipurpose water resource development. The program can be applied during preliminary plan formulation studies as well as for detailed plan analysis wherein detailed benefit calculations are needed. EAD can compute: the damage for a specific flood event, the expected annual damage for one or more years, and the equivalent annual damage for a stated interest rate and period of analysis. EAD requires for each index location and plan alternative to be evaluated the hydrologic relationships of exceedance frequency and corresponding flow or elevation and, if required, elevation versus flow and the economic relationship of elevation versus damage for each appropriate damage for each appropriate damage category.

Download or read book Flood Damage Analysis Package on the Microcomputer. Installation and Users Guide written by and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This document describes the Flood Damage Analysis (FDA) Package as it is implemented for an IBM or MS-DOS compatible personal computer (PC). The Package contains several computer programs that are linked through a data base management system. Most programs are executed in a batch style (i.e. they read data from a fixed formatted input data file and write to an output data file). The FDA Package supplied does not contain all of the programs as documented in HEC's publication Flood Damage Analysis Package, Training Document No. 21 (1). However, additional utility programs are included and the supplied programs facilitate storage and retrieval of all of the required parametric relationships. Specifically, this package includes the following analysis programs: (1) Damage Reach Stage-Damage Calculation (DAMCAL); (2) Expected Annual Flood Damage Computation (EAD); (3) Interactive Paired-Function Input Program (PIP); (4) Structure Inventory for Damage Analysis (SID); (5) Structure Inventory for Damage Analysis Edit (SIDEDT); (6) Data Storage Systems Utility (DSSUTL); (7) Data Storage System Display (DSPLAY); (8) HEC-2 Post Processor (FDA2PO); (9) HECDSS file conversion utility (DSS5TG6).
Book Synopsis Damage - A Computer Program for Calculation of Average Annual Flood Damages for a Given Condition, Or for a Without-Project and a With-Project Condition with Resulting Benefits by : W. T. Hunt
Download or read book Damage - A Computer Program for Calculation of Average Annual Flood Damages for a Given Condition, Or for a Without-Project and a With-Project Condition with Resulting Benefits written by W. T. Hunt and published by . This book was released on 1982 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Damage computes average annual damages either for a given hydrologically defined condition, or for two separately defined conditions. When two conditions are specified, the program treats the first condition as the without-project condition and the second condition as the with-project condition, and computes the difference as inundation damage reduction benefits attributable to the project. The program is oriented primarily to urban area analysis and does not readily lend itself to agricultural flood damage evaluation.

Download or read book HEC-FDA Sensitivity and Uncertainty Analysis written by Mary Joyce Briant and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers software HEC-FDA is a tool that uses Risk-based Analysis to compute Expected Annual Damage (EAD) for flood damage reduction studies. EAD reduction is computed as the difference between EAD with and without alternative projects, a quantity used to aid in flood damage reduction project selection. Depending on the time and money spent in the collection and preparation of the input data sets, relatively lesser or greater accuracy can be achieved in EAD computation. Sets of numerical experiments on synthetic large and small drainage basins show that EAD is differently sensitive to the major input functions to HEC-FDA and their associated uncertainties depending on drainage area and the shape of the damage-stage curve. The results from the synthetic data sets are verified by two case studies on the Blue River, Missouri and the Chippewa River, Georgia. The relative sensitivity of EAD to its input functions and associated uncertainties can be used in federal investment decision-making for flood damage reduction projects.

Download or read book Flood Damage Assessments Using Spatial Data Management Techniques written by Darryl W. Davis and published by . This book was released on 1978 with total page 34 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Corps of Engineers Hydrologic Engineering Center has developed techniques that perform the spatial data analysis approach and individual structure approach and work is near completion on an integrated analysis package. The capability therefore exists to perform damage appraisals in a manner that encourages a general geographic and land use approach (thus greatly facilitating the study of nonstructural measures) while preserving the ability to analyze individual, unique structures should the need arise. This paper discusses the basic concepts of a spatial data management approach to damage appraisals and highlight(s) its integrated use with more traditional individual structure approaches. Selected example results are presented"--Page 2
