Book excerpt: La paléopathologie étudie les pathologies décelables sur les restes humains et animaux, permet de mieux connaître les habitudes des populations du passé et leurs habitudes. Dans cette études, nous avons cherché à comparer 5 populations de différentes classes sociales du Nord-Pas-de-Calais (Montreuil sur Mer, Offin, Frethun, Arras, Valenciennes), datées du Moyen-Âge (du Vème au XVIème siècle), entre elles et à observer qu’elle a été l’influence du statut social et de la religion sur les habitudes alimentaires de l’époque, en étudiant l’état bucco-dentaire de ces populations ( caries dentaires, lésions périapicales, absences dentaires, et usure dentaire). Nous avons également cherché à intégrer ces populations au sein d’autres études. Après avoir rappelé les données déjà acquises des habitudes alimentaires de l’époque et redéfini l’historique des pathologies étudiées, nous présenterons ces 5 populations ainsi que le contexte archéologique de leur sépulture pour ensuite présenter nos résultats et les argumenter en comparant nos populations à d’autres populations contemporaines.

Par une étude comparative avec un échantillon provenant de la ville d’Arras, nous avons tenté de répondre à ces questions.
