Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Exploring the nature of trauma and how best to deal with it is not only a timely task, it is a necessary one. While COVID, isolation, and social unrest don’t necessarily cause trauma—trauma is about how one reacts to a thing, not the thing in itself—the fact is that these days many of us are dealing with some sort of trauma. How can we heal? Perhaps through a therapy known as EMDR, which stands for eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. Cowritten by Michael Baldwin, a patient who experienced transformative relief from trauma through EMDR therapy, and Dr. Deborah Korn, a therapist (though not Baldwin’s therapist) who explains exactly how and why EMDR works, Every Memory Deserves Respect brings the good news of EMDR to countless readers who may not even know of it but would greatly benefit from using it. We learn the origins of EMDR and of its effectiveness in treating those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder; how a session works; questions to ask a therapist before beginning. But we also learn a great deal about trauma—how it can refer to any experience, big or little, that is overwhelming, triggers strong negative emotions, and involves a sense of powerlessness or intense vulnerability; how it’s stored in our memories, and our bodies, waiting to be triggered; and how EMDR resolves it. Every Memory Deserves Respect is a warm, accessible, and helpful book, in part because of its innovative use of full-page photographs paired with a statement, definition, or affirmation. And that, combined with its mix of personal story and trusted authority, makes this an unusually effective introduction to a complicated and important subject.

Book excerpt: Is the Life She Can't Remember One She'd Rather Forget? One year after her family was in a tragic car accident that killed her teenage son, Lori Mendenhall returns home with a traumatic brain injury that has stolen the last eight years of memories from her. She is shocked to find that the life she was leading before the accident is unrecognizable. Her once-loving husband, Michael, is a distant workaholic she isn't sure she can trust and her once-bubbly daughter, Avery, has spent the last year hidden away in her room. For Avery, life stopped when she lost her twin. Now, if she wants to graduate high school, she'll have to accept help from Xander Dixon, her brother's best friend and the boy who relentlessly teased her for years. And if Lori wants to reconnect with her husband, she'll have to grapple with information her brain is trying to keep secret. With every memory that returns, she can't help but wonder if the life she can't remember is one she'd rather forget.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The #1 New York Times best-selling author Wayne Dyer has been inspiring people to change their lives for many years. Now three of his most fascinating books are collected in this single volume: • The Power of Intention details Wayne’s research on intention as a force in the universe that allows the act of creation to take place. He explains that it is not something we do, but rather an energy we’re a part of. This is the first book to look at intention as a field of energy that we can access to begin co-creating our lives. • Inspiration dissects feelings of emptiness, the idea that there must be something more, and trying to determine the meaning of life . . . all evidence of a yearning to reconnect with our soul space. This book explains how we’ve chosen to enter this world of particles and form, and each chapter is filled with specifics for living an inspired life. From a very personal viewpoint, Wayne offers a blueprint through the world of Spirit to inspiration, our ultimate calling. • Excuses Begone! reveals how to change the self-defeating thinking patterns that have prevented us from living at the highest levels of success, happiness, and health. Wayne presents many of the conscious and subconscious crutches most of us employ, along with ways to cast them aside once and for all. The old, habituated ways of thinking will melt away as the absurdity of hanging on to them is exposed, and we ultimately come to realize that there are no excuses worth defending—ever. The Essential Wayne Dyer Collection is a must-read for those wanting to explore the power and potential of the human mind, as well as anyone who is finally ready to live the best life possible!

Book excerpt: The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine! With Robert Jordan’s untimely passing in 2007, Brandon Sanderson, the New York Times bestselling author of the Mistborn novels and the Stormlight Archive, was chosen by Jordan’s editor—his wife, Harriet McDougal—to complete the final volume in The Wheel of Time®, later expanded to three books. In A Memory of Light, the fourteenth and concluding novel in Jordan’s #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, the armies of Light gather to fight in Tarmon Gai’don, the Last Battle, to save the Westland nations from the shadow forces of the Dark One. Rand al’Thor, the Dragon Reborn, is ready to fulfill his destiny. To defeat the enemy that threatens them all, he must convince his reluctant allies that his plan—as foolhardy and dangerous as it appears—is their only chance to stop the Dark One’s ascension and secure a lasting peace. But if Rand’s course of action fails, the world will be engulfed in shadow. Across the land, Mat, Perrin, and Egwene engage in battle with Shadowspawn, Trollocs, Darkfriends, and other creatures of the Blight. Sacrifices are made, lives are lost, but victory is unassured. For when Rand confronts the Dark One in Shayol Ghul, he is bombarded with conflicting visions of the future that reveal there is more at stake for humanity than winning the war. Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 4 different plots are followed through 500 years. We get to meet the aliens written about The Anunnaki Bible, the bible covering both the past and future. Main plot character throughout the book is J'Ska, an old Alien general. Together they're all searching for the truth about life on earth and today's society with wars and conspiracy's. Liza "The alien continues “As the worm replaces the DNA string which is your life recording with another, you will slowly die and this body of yours will start to decompose”. As this extraterrestrial being was talking, Liza felt her body stop reacting bit by bit and she seemed to sink together into a pile. Her muscles had started to dissolve. -Why are you doing this? She whispered without any strength left, as she became sitting on the floor not able to move. Soon, all she had left were her eyesight. She saw the clone turn from the aquarium and soon her vision became more and more blurred, then black! The alien brought forth a robe and she started to dry the clone’s hair and a soft humming filled the bridge again as she said “Welcome back Liza, how was your sleep”? The clone smiled and answered “Thank you J’Tika, it was to my satisfaction but, did we sense the clone becoming a being with its own feelings”? She led them to the enormous window facing the universe, here where a billion stars fill the void and galaxies were only as far away as our thoughts. -“I believe so, my dear, I believe so” J’Tika answered. She continued “are you sure my dear, that you want to visit earth yourself this time”? Liza smiled “oh, yes! I have had a wonderful virtual experience here on this blue planet. It is time to enter a new host soon too and what are our upcoming agenda”? J’Tika swept her hand in the air and a cube, big as a football, without walls but filled with signs, appeared. She talked to the cube and it sent small electrical lights from her orders to the commando bridge and it began to change its whole structure. Suddenly the entire ship looked like the main city on a busy planet. This was not only a hologram. This was advanced building techniques, rearranging tiles in structure by commanding atoms to move. J’Tika interpreted what she saw as “we have non humans, non guardians with high intelligence growing by the number quickly and by the look of this, their older cities may already be as old as 4000 years or more. -Shall we interact? Liza held her hand up and shook it. -No, not now! We must find “3” first and the rest of that fleet. Before Liza went back to earth, she stared into a new glass tank where a baby human was growing. “When shall we leave dear”, J’Tika asked. Liza said nothing at first but then she looked around the hundreds of glass tanks in the first chamber “let’s ask the others when I come back, we can not leave any clones behind on earth anyway and I kind of like this place. It would be a shame killing every clone off…”. The sunrise in Sunset Crater was magically beautiful. Mist covered the fields and it tried desperately to climb the hills but, as the sun rose, the mist sank further down along the ground until the only thing that was left were very small drops of water in the grass and on the leaves. On one of the logs by last night’s campfire, Felicity and Philip sat holding each other tight with a blanket still wrapped around them… … As the sun rose higher in the sky and hit their faces, a vague figure came walking from the Cinder trees. Felicity was the first one to see Liza and ran screaming of joy toward her “My God, where have you been”. Liza felt a hug for the first time in real life, and she almost stumbled as she took her first breath with the taste of summer, moist and sweet flowers. Gazing towards the sun, she got struck with love for this short life but intense existence experience. “Amazing…” she whispers, knowing that all these people that came running toward her only are soul puppets, hidden in bodies as Armour for war, virtual pleasure or science. When… for a fact, the true beings were kept safe in DNA tanks, just to stay alive for millions of years… never seeing each other’s faces for real. -This is life, she thought, even though they really don’t know who they are, what they are or why!“

Book excerpt: From the internationally bestselling author who combines the warmth of Maeve Binchy with the emotion of Kristin Hannah comes a heartwarming novel about a mother and her daughter caught in an intricate web of secrets. When Briony McAllister takes a trip to visit her mother, Valerie, she uncovers a letter from her long-lost grandmother, bringing to light a nearly unforgivable act her mother has kept secret for decades. Having always believed that her grandparents didn’t want to see her, she finds that the opposite is true: her grandmother had been seeking her out all along, and it was her own mother who willfully kept them apart. Devastated that her past has come back to haunt her, Valerie realizes that her daughter’s anger might cause their troubled family history to repeat itself in a new generation. Rich with emotion and featuring magnificent descriptions of Ireland, With All My Love deftly weaves the stories of the past and present to take us into the heart of a family at war. As the truth is revealed, so too are the complex yet enduring bonds between mothers and daughters.

Book excerpt: The biblical books were written to Jews, for Jews, and about Jews, yet most Bible translations do not maintain a connection to the Jewish essence of the Bible. The TLV speaks with a decidedly Jewish voice to recover the authentic context of the Bible and the Christian faith, retaining the Jewish order of the Old Testament books, the Jewish name of the Messiah, reverence for the four-letter unspoken name of God, and many Hebrew transliterated terms, such as shalom, shofar, and shabbat. The result is a translation that is accurate, readable, reverential, and true to the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith. The TLV Personal Size Giant Print Reference Bible offers readers powerful features in a convenient size and readable 12.5-point type, including - introductions to each book of the Bible and the major sections of Scripture - a glossary with key Scripture references - cross references for studying biblical topics - an extensive concordance for finding familiar passages, doing word studies, and following biblical themes - Jewish blessings and benedictions: Hear O Israel, And You Shall Love, Tree of Life Declaration, Aaronic Benediction, Messiah's Prayer, Welcoming the Sabbath - Parashat weekly Torah readings - maps of Israel - and much more

Book excerpt: The award winning book that can change your life! The book outlines the experiences of a young, poor, and disillusioned reporter who is enticed to do a series of articles about Paul, an unconventional philosopher and motivational speaker. In exchange, he gets to travel to and dive on Roatan, arguably one of the most beautiful, pristine islands in the Caribbean. Through a series of interviews, the reporter gets to know Paul's innermost philosophies. He learns an alternate way of living from a man who strives to perfect handstands on a dock and practices the art of happiness. When the author realized his children were leaving home to begin their journeys through life, he wrote this story for them. He developed it as a guide to help them through life in a way that would allow them to enjoy the journey. Drawing on wildly diverse disciplines including stoicism, neuroscience, skepticism, behavioral economics, and spirituality; the reader is taken on a journey that exposes the author's philosophy of life. He shows that happiness is indeed a choice. All places detailed on Roatan exist and are more beautiful than described. Photos are by kind permission of Shawn Jackson.

The "Reflections of Love" may provide inspiration to find the words you wish to share with someone you care about; your sister, your girlfriend, your wife, your friend, your mother, or your father. You may find the meaning to life in a poem or peace to share with a friend or a loved one. Whatever it is you're feeling or wish to share with someone, I hope you will enjoy a poem or two that I am lucky enough to now share with you. Enjoy, love, live, read and be happy.
