Political scientists of different countries use the same pattern for their analysis, taking Into account the themes of the campaigns, their organization, the pro- and anti-European electorates, the stake of Europe in the public discourse, and the issue areas that were mobilized. Can we speak about the same types of arguments for the different countries? Did the different types of relations with Europe have a stake in the results? Is it possible to compare the anti-European electorates? Which were the public positions of the different political parties, trade unions and employers' organizations? Is it possible to draw a parallel with the situation in the other fifteen member States? Was the position of the parties in a political family Identical for the different countries? The Government's confirmation that an in/out referendum would be held in June followed intense negotiations with the other 27 Member States and the EU institutions. These culminated in the European Council's agreement, on 19 February 2016, to a "new settlement for the United Kingdom within the European Union". Besides global problems on terrorism, global warming and wars all around the world, there is one major topic in our news: it’s the EU with its internal problems from financing Greece to internal stability. The last mentioned point will be subject of that paper, because Britain is deeply divided about the proposed referendum on United Kingdom’s Membership in the European Union, respectively its opportunities and risks. During the last election in the UK, Prime Minister David Cameron took the referendum into the manifesto of his Conservative Party because of the annual debates about costs and benefits from the EU and after winning the election he now has to stand up for it. The back then started campaign »Let Britain decide« will now reveal, whether or not the Brits want to stay or not. t is not unreasonable to think about Britain leaving the EU as, for example, Anthony Forster lists the historically settled problems between Europe and Great Britain in his book-summary like it is inevitable for the UK to leave. And talking about the legality of that referendum is therefore not an option, because Article 50 TEU (Treaties of the European Union) settles the possibility of a voluntary resignation (cf. Streinz et al. 2008: 38-39). The main part of the seminar paper is going to start, after introducing the topic in the initiation, with an analytically and descriptively chapter of analysing the pros and cons of leaving the EU. The first section of the main part is therefore divided in two parts, the opportunities and the risks. In the course of doing this, the perspective is clearly aligned to the UK itself, so that one should be able to decide, whether or not it will be good for the British people to vote yes or no and which decision they should take. Possible consequences for the EU are completely hidden, because it doesn’t matter for the Brits, who take part in this referendum. In addition to that there will be an analytic part of discussing the meaning of the mentioned opportunities and risks as section two of the main part. Subsequently, in an overview chapter, the advantages and disadvantages are going to be compared to each other to be able to qualify both of them. The final conclusion will take place in Chapter 5, in which the paper will be finished with an outlook and an analysis which option to take.

He discovered that a British Secret Service Agent, who investigated Jackthe-Ripper crimes, wrote about a political alliance of European nations (how it would develop, its character and future) even before the French Founding Fathers of the European Project, Jean Monnet and Robert Schuman, were born in 1888 and 1886 respectively. According to the Intelligence Officer, a Confederation of European Nations would develop through a great European crisis. And this European Confederacy would become the next major political feature in history after the restoration of the Jews to Palestine. He made this forecast before Theodor Herzl, the Father of Zionism, formed the Zionist movement in 1896. The state of Israel for the Jews was created in Palestine in May 1948. Two years later, in May 1950, the European Union was born in Paris with The Schuman Plan. These events occurred exactly as the Intelligence Officer had predicted. The author shares with the reader the important advice Schuman and Chancellor Adenauer offered to Europeans concerning the survival of the European Project. The writer responds to David Camerons Bloomberg speech. He offers a critique of his vision for Britain and Europe. He explains whether an independent Scotland should seek EU membership or not. The writer also reveals his communication with an Archbishop concerning the Church of Englands support of Britains membership of the European Union. The opening chapters compare the two chief institutions of electoral democracy: parliamentary elections to decide who governs, and referendums to decide policies. The EU relies on international treaties for its authority to make policies. Chapters analysing referendum voting on Europe in Britain, Greece and the Netherlands show that cultural values can have a stronger influence than class. The book uses Brexit – the British referendum in which a majority voted for the UK leaving the European Union – as the leading example of a conflict between national voters and the EU. However, taking back control of policymaking does not ensure effective policymaking when success depends not only on what the British Parliament does but also on decisions taken in Brussels, Washington and elsewhere. Boris Johnson’s electoral success is insufficient to deliver all his promises in the world beyond Brexit. The EU is challenged too, as its policies increasingly depend on what happens on other continents.
