Download or read book Qualitative Approaches to Pedagogical Engineering written by Elomari, Driss and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2024-10-29 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Qualitative approaches to pedagogical engineering offer a nuanced understanding of educational design by focusing on the dynamics of teaching and learning processes. Qualitative approaches explore the lived experiences, perceptions, and interactions of educators and learners, examining how educational technologies, instructional strategies, and curriculum designs impact real-world classroom environments. By exploring factors such as teacher-student relationships, classroom culture, and the application of pedagogical theories, qualitative research in pedagogical engineering helps enhance educational practices. Further exploration into pedagogical engineering may help create meaningful responses to the needs of diverse learning communities. Qualitative Approaches to Pedagogical Engineering explores perspectives in pedagogical engineering, emphasizing qualitative approaches. It examines how qualitative research methods can enhance the design and implementation of educational technologies at the intersection of education and technology. This book covers topics such as blended learning, iterative design, and higher education, and is a useful resource for education professionals, teachers, academicians, administrators, scientists, and researchers.

Book Synopsis Forms and Degrees of Repetition in Texts by : Gabriel Altmann
Download or read book Forms and Degrees of Repetition in Texts written by Gabriel Altmann and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2015-03-10 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present volume presents objective methods to detect and analyse various forms of repetitions. Repetition of textual elements is more than a superficial phenomenon. It may even be considered as constitutive for units and relations in a text: on a primary level when no other way exists to establish a unit – as in a musical composition (a motif can be recognised as such only after at least one repetition) – and on a secondary, artistic level, where repetition is a consequence of the transfer of the equivalence principle from the paradigmatic axis to the syntagmatic one as showed by R. Jakobson. The analysis of repetitive elements and structures in texts with objective mathematical means can serve several practical and theoretical purposes, among them: Characterisation of texts by means of parameters (measures, indicators) as taken from established mathematical statistics or specifically constructed ones in individual cases. Comparison of texts on the basis of their quantitative characteristics and classification of the texts by the results. Research for the laws of text, which control the mechanisms connected to text creation. As a remote aim, the construction of a theory of text consisting of a system of text laws. The final attempt of every possible quantitative text analysis is the construction of a text theory. The book illustrates this on examples of such laws and corresponding empirical tests.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This handbook offers a comprehensive overview of the field of Persian linguistics, discusses its development, and captures critical accounts of cutting edge research within its major subfields, as well as outlining current debates and suggesting productive lines of future research. Leading scholars in the major subfields of Persian linguistics examine a range of topics split into six thematic parts. Following a detailed introduction from the editors, the volume begins by placing Persian in its historical and typological context in Part I. Chapters in Part II examine topics relating to phonetics and phonology, while Part III looks at approaches to and features of Persian syntax. The fourth part of the volume explores morphology and lexicography, as well as the work of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature. Part V, language and people, covers topics such as language contact and teaching Persian as a foreign language, while the final part examines psycho- neuro-, and computational linguistics. The volume will be an essential resource for all scholars with an interest in Persian language and linguistics.
Book Synopsis Communication Et Éducation Interculturelles by : Fred Dervin
Download or read book Communication Et Éducation Interculturelles written by Fred Dervin and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2006 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the context of cultural and economic globalization, intercultural communication is of central importance for the study of social and educational processes and practices. This volume contains contributions on conceptual issues as well as case studies on intercultural communication and education in Finland. Some of the contributions were first presented at the conference «Enhancing the Visibility and Collaboration of Researchers in Intercultural Communication and Education in Finland» which took place at the University of Turku, Finland, in October 2004. The other collected articles offer various contrasting perspectives on issues related to interculturality.
Book Synopsis Language, creoles, varieties by : Cyrille Granget
Download or read book Language, creoles, varieties written by Cyrille Granget and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2023-12-22 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a selection of papers dealing with second language acquisition, foreign language teaching and creole linguistics inspired by the scientific legacy of Mauritian-born scholar Georges Daniel Véronique (Port-Louis, 1948). An important part of the book is devoted to the description of learner varieties with a focus on sociolinguistic factors, such as the learner situation – from asylum seekers to Erasmus students –, the degree of familiarity with the target language – having or not previous knowledge about a genetically related language –, the degree of literacy, and the type of instruction. Linguistic complexity, case marking, the use of self-positioning pronouns, verbal morphology and aspectual values are among the linguistic phenomena analyzed by the authors having contributed to this part of the volume. Another part of this volume deals with language didactics and addresses the questions of whether manipulating specific constructions from a usage-based perspective and a focus-on-form approach do indeed aid beginner learners to acquire complex forms in L2 German and nominal forms in L2 Polish, respectively. It also explores how some educational policies in Sweden have affected both the offer of French as a Foreign Language and its demand by students. The contributions to creole studies present diachronic analyses targeting the /z/ plural marking in Réunion creole, Fa d’Ambô and spoken French, and a set of NPs found in two speeches pronounced in 1835 on the island of Agaléga by a coconut oil producer whose features are similar to Mauritian creole. Linguistic, social and historical factors are at the center of these contributions.

Book Synopsis Becoming a Plurilingual Child by : Roberto Gómez Fernández
Download or read book Becoming a Plurilingual Child written by Roberto Gómez Fernández and published by Bubok. This book was released on 2013-05-20 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present research aims at illustrating the newcomer’s process of becoming an ‘emergent plurilingual’ member of a heterogeneous and multilingual primary school classroom in Luxembourg. It is a 8 month case study about a child belonging to one of the ethnic and linguistic communities most affected by school failure in Luxembourg, namely ‘Romanophones’ or romance-language speaking students. The country of Luxembourg has three official languages and a great diversity, both factors demanding a unique educational system. The Luxembourgish educational system is then confronted with the common practice of trilingualism and a high proportion of foreigners in its classrooms. A detailed analysis of the actors in contact with this child, including the different teachers, parents, and peers, allows for an observation of which practices are legitimated and which ones are marginalized. It also provides valuable insights on how such practices emerge and how the newcomer’s identity evolves within the class group.
