Book Synopsis Actualizando La Mediana Edad by : Guillermo Julio Montero
Download or read book Actualizando La Mediana Edad written by Guillermo Julio Montero and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-12-17 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Clínica psicoanalítica written by Cecilia Muñoz-Vila and published by Editorial Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. This book was released on 2014-03-25 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Jacques Lacan & Co by : Elisabeth Roudinesco
Download or read book Jacques Lacan & Co written by Elisabeth Roudinesco and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 1990-10-29 with total page 797 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Roudinesco provides a finely drawn map of the intellectual debates within French psychoanalysis, especially under the influence of the German emigrés during the 1930s and 1940s. She is a good historian, in that she provides not only a narrative history but also extensive passages from Lacan's own oral-history interviews with the various figures, so that we have not only her commentary but some flavor of the original documentation. Many of the quotes are gems."—Sander I. Gilman, Bulletin of the History of Medicine
Book Synopsis Updating Midlife by : Guillermo Julio Montero
Download or read book Updating Midlife written by Guillermo Julio Montero and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-05-08 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Midlife" is a concept used everywhere and from many different vertexes, though mostly imprecisely, even within the psychoanalytic paradigm. This book tries to settle its proper meaning through the challenge of laying the foundations for the development of a true psychoanalytic metapsychology for "midlife", something that the editors believe in psychoanalysis was lacking. From this viewpoint, they invited fourteen renowned psychoanalysts to share their ideas about the issue. The outcome of that work is Updating Midlife: Psychoanalytic Perspectives, which, in addition to the various contributions, includes an introductory paper by the editors. This book is a true step forward in the development of a specific metapsychology for "midlife".

Book Synopsis The Transnational Legacy of Jean Piaget by : Regina Helena de Freitas Campos
Download or read book The Transnational Legacy of Jean Piaget written by Regina Helena de Freitas Campos and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-10-16 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a collection of studies on the circulation of Jean Piaget’s ideas and works between Europe and Latin America, and how this transnational legacy influenced different fields of research and practice, such as psychology, education and philosophy. The volume brings together contributions presented at the International Colloquium Jean Piaget in Brazil and Latin America, held during the 38th Annual Helena Antipoff Meeting, organized by the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in collaboration with the University of Geneva, Switzerland. The book is organized in three parts. Chapters in the first part analyze Piaget’s role as a builder of an international network in psychology, education and peace promotion in the 20th century, with a special focus on the circulation of his ideas and works between Switzerland and France. The second part focuses on historical and contemporary dialogues, conflicts and controversies between Piaget and other authors, such as Henri Wallon, Carl Rogers, Jürgen Habermas, and, especially, Helena Antipoff, the Russian-Brazilian psychologist and educator who was one of the first researchers to introduce Piaget in Brazil and to establish a bridge between Latin America and the Geneva school of psychological and educational sciences. Finally, chapters in the third part of the book explore different aspects of the reception and appropriation of Piaget’s works and ideas in the Brazilian context. The Transnational Legacy of Jean Piaget: A View from the 21st Century will be of interest to researchers in different fields within the human and social sciences, such as developmental, educational and school psychologists; educators; philosophers and historians of psychology and education interested in understanding how Piaget’s progressist ideas have contributed to the development of psychological and educational sciences in Europe and Latin America. Some chapters of this book were originally written in Portuguese and French and translated into English with the help of artificial intelligence. A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content.

Book Synopsis Jouissance by : Néstor A. Braunstein
Download or read book Jouissance written by Néstor A. Braunstein and published by SUNY Press. This book was released on 2020-08-01 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Whether inscribed within the context of capitalist or neoliberal logic and its imperative to "enjoy," as a critique of all forms of hetero-normativity, a liberating force in a positive reading of biopolitics, the point of inflection in the ethics of psychoanalysis, or articulated in the knot of the sinthome, jouissance is either the diagnosis, response, or solution for a wide range of contemporary discontents. Why does jouissance occupy such a central place in contemporary psychoanalytic discourse? What is jouissance the name for? Originally published in Spanish in 1990 and translated into French and Portuguese, with multiple reprints in all three languages, Jouissance: A Lacanian Concept addresses both theoretical and clinical applications, and includes discussions of key terms in Lacan's grammar in order to provide a comprehensive overview of this elusive concept. In addition, Nâestor A. Braunstein discusses jouissance in relation to other key figures in the fields of psychoanalysis and philosophy, and turns to literary texts and queer theory to further explore the implications of these interpretations for contemporary cultural debates"--
Book Synopsis Marx and Freud in Latin America by : Bruno Bosteels
Download or read book Marx and Freud in Latin America written by Bruno Bosteels and published by Verso Books. This book was released on 2012-08-21 with total page 892 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book assesses the untimely relevance of Marx and Freud for Latin America, thinkers alien to the region who became an inspiration to its beleaguered activists, intellectuals, writers and artists during times of political and cultural oppression. Bruno Bosteels presents ten case studies arguing that art and literature-the novel, poetry, theatre, film-more than any militant tract or theoretical essay, can give us a glimpse into Marxism and psychoanalysis, not so much as sciences of history or of the unconscious, respectively, but rather as two intricately related modes of understanding the formation of subjectivity.
