In these pages, Pastor Jordan Easley examines some of the traps that hold us tightly. With great humor, and biblical wisdom this book helps identify and unlock the cages of worry, stress, fear, pride, and anger. Pastor Jordan reminds everyone that life was intended to be lived with hope and freedom found only in the key of Jesus Christ.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is my story. It started as a series of journal entries and somehow evolved into a novel. This cautionary, coming-of-age tale is explicit, raw, and not for the faint of heart. Many times I've read it and felt it belonged to a different girl entirely. A close friend maybe, who trusted me with gritty details I somehow remembered vividly enough to tell. But the reality is, it was my story. From rock bottom to reconquering my identity. A literal roadmap of my own healing journey. How I escaped the cage of fixation and broke free of the restrictive mindset that kept me trapped in an abusive relationship. If you're anything like me, you've struggled with the steep teenager-to-adult learning curve, lost yourself in love, and may have even had to navigate your way out of a toxic partnership. This book shines a light on the reasons why we find ourselves in compromising situations and how to work our way out through self-reflection. Content Warning: This book contains themes of emotional, mental, and physical abuse.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What Do the Five Points of Calvinism Really Mean? Many have heard of Reformed theology, but may not be certain what it is. Some references to it have been positive, some negative. It appears to be important, and they'd like to know more about it. But they want a full, understandable explanation, not a simplistic one. What Is Reformed Theology? is an accessible introduction to beliefs that have been immensely influential in the evangelical church. In this insightful book, R. C. Sproul walks readers through the foundations of the Reformed doctrine and explains how the Reformed belief is centered on God, based on God's Word, and committed to faith in Jesus Christ. Sproul explains the five points of Reformed theology and makes plain the reality of God's amazing grace.

When his college wrestling career ended in heartbreak, Rollie fell short of his dream of standing on the national podium. After graduating with an Ivy League degree, he tried to take solace in the lucrative Wall Street job offer that awaited him. He vigorously launched himself into his new career as a bond trader and grew accustomed to fancy dinners, expense accounts, late nights, and early mornings. Rollie was achieving all of his goals, but began to feel like something was missing. During a trip to Peru, a chance encounter with a legendary cage fighter would inspire him to question the well-worn path to success he had always known. Soon after, Rollie plotted his escape and ultimately left behind the life of luxury to pursue a savage dream. Along the way he faced life changing obstacles that he never could have foreseen in his wildest dreams. From yuppie Manhattanite to blood-soaked warrior in South America, The Cage traces Rollie's fight for meaning, substance, and true value.

Book excerpt: The Khmer Rouge ruled Cambodia for three years, eight months and twenty days. After overthrowing Lon Nol in April 1975 and establishing a so-called Democratic Kampuchea, the Communist-sponsored government was responsible for the deaths of as many as two million people, almost one-third of the country's population. Here, Chileng Pa vividly recalls life under the Cambodian Communists. Attempting to conceal his identity as a policeman for the previous government, Chileng changed his name and moved his family to the village of Prayap, near the Vietnamese border. In April of 1977, after two years of starvation and cruelty at the hands of the Khmer Rouge, Chileng was forced to watch as Communist guerillas brutally murdered his wife and two-year-old son. With nothing left for him in Prayap Chileng fled to Vietnam, but eventually returned to Cambodia as part of a Vietnamese invasion force that would end the bloody reign of the Khmer regime. In 1981 Chileng and his new family found their way to America. His "simple strand of remembrance" serves to honor all those who died at the hands of the Khmer Rouge.

Book excerpt: This two-volume work examines general relationships among the structures, reactivity, and properties of polyamides important for predictions in such fields as materials science. The team of authors, including polymer research chemists, physicists, and specialists in technology and processing, compiled an extensive amount of literature (over 2300 references) to produce two volumes packed with text, tables, drawings, and first-hand information, much of it never before published. Topics include lactams and their production, properties, analysis, theory, and the technology of their polymerization, in addition to polyamides and their processing, modification, analysis, molecular characterization, structure, physical properties, degradation and stabilization, designing and application of products. Researchers and specialists in the preparation, modification, processing, structure, and properties of linear aliphatic polyamides will find Lactam-Based Polyamides, Volumes I and II to be invaluable texts.
