Grundlegung: 1.1 Einleitung: Immer mehr Arbeitsplätze werden aufgrund kostengünstiger Produktionsmöglichkeiten nach Osteuropa und Asien verlagert. Die Unternehmen, die in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bleiben, können den Wettbewerbsnachteil gegenüber den Billiglohn-Ländern durch neue Arbeitsorganisationen kompensieren. Die steigende Aufgabenkomplexität und die zunehmende Vernetzung unterschiedlicher betrieblicher Funktionen machen es zudem erforderlich, daß mehr und mehr Menschen zeitbegrenzt oder langfristig zusammenarbeiten. Neue Konzepte der Arbeitsorganisation und veränderte Arbeitsinhalte führten daher in den neunziger Jahren zu einer Renaissance der Gruppen- und Teamarbeit in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. In modernen Organisationen ist Teamarbeit mittlerweile nicht mehr wegzudenken. Noch wenige Jahre zuvor wurde diese Arbeitsform skeptisch betrachtet und teilweise abgelehnt. In der Produktion konnte sich die Teamarbeit seit den siebziger Jahren kontinuierlich ausbreiten. Mittlerweile wird die Teamarbeit auch zunehmend im Dienstleistungsbereich eingeführt. Doch in der Praxis erweist sich die Arbeit in Teams zunehmend als Problem. Die Einführung verläuft schleppend und die Umsetzung in den Betrieben kommt nur langsam voran. Sowohl in der Debatte über die Teamarbeit als auch bei deren Umsetzung bleibt meist unberücksichtigt, daß die Neuorganisation weitreichende betriebliche und außerbetriebliche Konsequenzen nach sich zieht und teilweise auf erhebliche Barrieren stößt. Die Teamarbeit erfordert spezifische organisatorische Rahmenbedingungen und spezielle Fähigkeiten der Mitarbeiter. 1.2 Problemstellung: Bei der Umstellung der Arbeitsorganisation auf Teamarbeit und im späteren Geschäftsbetrieb kommt es vielfach zu Konflikten, die sogar zum Scheitern des Konzeptes führen können. Eine nähere Untersuchung der Konflikte, um Maßnahmen der Konfliktlösung und -vermeidung durchführen zu können, ist also unbedingt notwendig. Neben der Betriebs- und Arbeitsorganisation, deren Aufgabengebiet u.a. die organisatorische Gestaltung des Unternehmens für die Teamarbeit beinhaltet, hat auch die Wirtschaftspädagogik im Rahmen der schulischen und betrieblichen Berufsaus-, Fort- und Weiterbildung in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland die Aufgabe, Arbeitnehmer für die Anforderungen ihres Berufes und damit auch der Teamarbeit auszubilden. In diesem Rahmen gewinnt die Vermittlung von Teamfähigkeit zunehmend an Bedeutung.

The book explains that follow-on innovations may be subject to market failures such as hold-ups and excessive royalties. For decades, scholars have debated whether the market problems can be solved with voluntary licensing i.e., open innovation, or with compulsory liability rules. The book concludes that neither approach is sufficient. On the one hand, incentives to engage in open innovation practices involving patents are insufficient. On the other hand, the existing compulsory liability rules in patent and competition law are not tailored to address follow-on innovator's interests. To transcend this problem, the author proposes a compulsory liability rule against the suppression of follow-on innovation, that paradoxically, fosters early-on voluntary licensing between patent holders and follow-on innovators. The book is aimed at patent and competition law scholars and practitioners, patent attorneys, managers, engineers and economists who either engage in open innovation involving patents or conduct research on the topic. It also offers insights to policy and law-makers reviewing the possibilities to foster open innovation initiatives or adapt the scope of patent remedies or employ compulsory licenses for patents.

Drawing on Amartya Sen's capabilities approach to development--which shifts the focus from economic growth to a more holistic, freedom-based idea of human development--Dorothea Kleine in Technologies of Choice? examines the relationship between ICTs, choice, and development. Kleine proposes a conceptual framework, the Choice Framework, that can be used to analyze the role of technologies in development processes. She applies the Choice Framework to a case study of microentrepreneurs in a rural community in Chile. Kleine combines ethnographic research at the local level with interviews with national policy makers, to contrast the high ambitions of Chile's pioneering ICT policies with the country's complex social and economic realities. She examines three key policies of Chile's groundbreaking Agenda Digital: public access, digital literacy, and an online procurement system.
