En particular, se consideran causas asociadas con aspectos del contexto organizacional y social, demográficos, de personalidad, de actitudes y de toma de decisiones. Se detalla una propuesta metodológica en la que, mediante la aplicación de un modelo de regresión logística, utilizando datos de la Encuesta Continua de Hogares para Colombia, se puede evaluar la asociación entre el tipo de contrato y la probabilidad de incurrir en comportamientos de absentismo en las organizaciones. Se plantea que los empleados con contrato escrito tienen mayor probabilidad de ausentarse que las personas con contrato verbal. Igualmente se plantea una asociación positiva entre el absentismo y otras variables, como la intensión de retiro y el número de niños con los que convive el empleado. De igual modo se sugiere que la asociación entre tipo de contrato y absentismo difiere según el género y el estado civil del trabajador. Otras variables relacionadas con características de la organización se utilizan para controlar algunos efectos dentro de los modelos. This paper presents a literature review of recent work dealing with the causes of absenteeism from several perspectives. In particular, causes associated with organizational context and aspects of social, demographic, personality, attitudes, and decision making are considered. It details a methodology in which, through the application of a logistic regression model, using data from the Household Survey for Colombia, the association between type of contract and the likelihood of engaging in behaviors absenteeism organizations can be evaluated. It argues that the written contract employees are more likely to leave than people with verbal contract. Arises also a positive association between absenteeism and other variables, the intension of retirement and the number of children with whom the employee lives. Similarly it is suggested that the association between type of contract and absenteeism differs by gender and marital status of the worker. Other variables related to characteristics of the organization are used to control some effects within the models.

Latent Curve Models: A Structural Equation Perspective provides an effective technique to analyze latent curve models (LCMs). This type of data features random intercepts and slopes that permit each case in a sample to have a different trajectory over time. Furthermore, researchers can include variables to predict the parameters governing these trajectories.
