Book excerpt: A series of panoramic photographs were taken of an alpine view from the balcony of a mountain lodge called the Rechenau, near Kiefersfelden in Bavaria. Maryam and Rolf Sachs focused their camera on two majestic mountain peaks, 'Der Zahme Kaiser' (The Tame Emperor) on the left and 'Der Wilde Kaiser' (The Wild Emperor) on the right, that lie over the German border in Austria. The discipline for the project was rigorous, throughout 2004 the camera, which was housed in a purpose built shelter shot over 50,000 photographs, each taken every 10 and half minutes. The pictures succeed in capturing nature's ever changing moods. Rolf Sachs studied business management and is a renowned London-based furniture and object designer. Maryam Sachs who holds a Masters in International Affairs, has published anthologies such as 'Der Mond' (the moon) and 'Der Kuss (the kiss). Includes a Foreword by Wilfried Dickhoff, noted art critic and curator of such exhibitions as the Art Project "In Between" at the EXPO 2000 Selected photographs from Rechenau will be exhibited throughout Europe. 133 colour photos

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. ENGLISH VERSION This book is the first to examine closely the radically new and challenging Panic Theatre, a group of plays composed by Arrabal between 1957 and 1966, at the zenith of the avant-garde movement. ENGLISH VERSION The Panic Theatre is a set of plays conceived by Fernando Arrabal between1957 and 1966, the author's first years in Paris. Composed at the zenith of the avant-garde movement, they convey a radically new and challenging theatricality whose cornerstone is their ceremonial shape. The plays' underlying panic ceremony is thoroughly studied in light of Arrabal's programmatic text Le Panique, that singles out three key concepts responsible for artistic creation: memory, chance and confusion. This study shows how memory determines the plays' departure from mimesis and how chance articulates the materials recalled from memory into precisely arranged plots. Furthermore, subjects, objects, spatial-temporal frames and words are subject to confusion, inan attempt to create an utterly innovative form of theatre. This group of seemingly heterogeneous plays is given theoretical coherence and consistency by placing the idea of panic at the centre of a great formal experimentation. Diego Santos Sánchez is an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at Humboldt-Universität in Berlin.

Book Synopsis The Signifying Self by : Melanie Henry
Download or read book The Signifying Self written by Melanie Henry and published by MHRA. This book was released on 2013 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Signifying Self: Cervantine Drama as Counter-Perspective Aesthetic offers a comprehensive analysis of all eight of Cervantes's Ocho comedias (published 1615), moving beyond conventional anti-Lope approaches to Cervantine dramatic practise in order to identify what, indeed, his theatre promotes. Considered on its own aesthetic terms, but also taking into account ontological and socio-cultural concerns, this study compels a re-assessment of Cervantes's drama and conflates any monolithic interpretations which do not allow for the textual interplay of contradictory and conflicting discourses which inform it. Cervantes's complex and polyvalent representation of freedom underpins such an approach; a concept which is considered to be a leitmotif of Cervantes's work but which has received scant attention with regards to his theatre. Investigation of this topic reveals not only Cervantes's rejection of established theatrical convention, but his preoccupation with the difficult relationship between the individual and the early modern Spanish world. Cervantes's comedias emerge as a counter-perspective to dominant contemporary Spanish ideologies and more orthodox artistic imaginings. Ultimately, The Signifying Self seeks to recuperate the Ocho comedias as a significant part of the Cervantine, and Golden-Age, canon and will be of interest and benefit to those scholars who work on Cervantes and indeed on early modern Spanish theatre in general.
Book Synopsis Reactive scattering for H- + H2 and H+ + H2 and its isotopologues by : Dequan Wang
Download or read book Reactive scattering for H- + H2 and H+ + H2 and its isotopologues written by Dequan Wang and published by Logos Verlag Berlin GmbH. This book was released on 2016-07-15 with total page 139 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The reactive scattering for H- + H2 and H+ + H2 and its isotopologues were investigated using different methods. The studies aimed at providing insights into elementary reactions, and go beyond these to more complexchemical reactions. By comparison of the reaction probabilities of H+ + H2 using adiabatic and non-adiabatic methods, it was found that, at low collision energies, the reaction preferentially occurs adiabatically, but at higher collision energies non-adiabatic effects should be taken into account. For H- + H2 and its isotopologues, we can see that, at low collision energies, the reaction probabilities and reaction cross section using SM-PES and AY-PES are very similar but different from PS-PES. The reaction cross sections investigated with quasi-classical trajectoriesare higher than those calculated with quantum wavepackets. For the collision H- and D- with HD, the main reaction path ways are different with the different collision energies.

Book Synopsis Sobre el concepto de barbarie by : Gilbert Keith Chesterton
Download or read book Sobre el concepto de barbarie written by Gilbert Keith Chesterton and published by Editorial Renacimiento. This book was released on 2012-10-30 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
