Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ember knows nothing of the Other World and doesn't believe in love. Stryx lost his ability to feel anything a thousand years ago. A relationship between them seems doomed from the start... or is it? When Ember and her twin are kidnapped by mages, she is forced to confront things she never thought possible, not to mention a few family secrets. Can she trust a vampire to help her navigate this new world and rescue her sister? Stryx lost his ability to feel emotions in a desperate attempt to save his Ildum during the Draga Massacre. He knows all about mages - he's been fighting them for a thousand years - but will he let himself love Ember and accept the part of his heritage he's always rejected to help her become the witch she's meant to be? And what happens when she becomes something neither of them expects? This is a sexy, happily-ever-after soulmate novel with no cheating, fade to blacks, or cliffhangers. It's a fast-paced story that blends romance, mythology, humor, and adventure. While a little more of the Dragaverse is revealed as the series progresses, the romance in each novel focuses on one couple and can be read as a standalone.

Book Synopsis Hypnotic Fascination by : William Walker Atkinson
Download or read book Hypnotic Fascination written by William Walker Atkinson and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gaze has an incredible power. Even our auditory perception of space is influenced by gaze and experimental studies have also shown that in social interactions a steady gaze is a sure asset and that the eyes can change the answer of our partner (Keating, Mazur, Segall 1977). The eyes are even more important in the first contact with somebody, as many experts have observed that the first 30 seconds and the first 4 minutes of an encounter have crucial significance (Zunin 1976). In these cases many times we get answers from other people that in reality we create unconsciously. It has also been experimentally proved that the effectiveness of certain therapies can be directly related to the gaze interaction (Harrigan, Oxman e Rothental 1985). Other experimental studies have shown that our logical mind is reduced and emotions are felt more intensely when somebody looks at us intensively. In hypnotism, the effects of the hypnotic gaze inductions are noteworthy. However, we should also consider that there are two types of inductions referred to as "hypnotic gaze induction." In the first one, the use of the eyes is intermixed with words. In the second type, the most powerful and mysterious, no words at all are used, just the eyes and sometimes the hands. How we practice it in our school is as a completely non verbal technique. It is called "fascination." Behind it there is a very ancient secret school, that we can trace back to the Ancient Romans' time and even before. Aristotle, Plutarcus, Plinius, Marsilius Ficinus, Simone Maiolo, and even St. Thomas, Albertus Magnus and many others acknowledged the existence of such a power. Even the Greek tradition of the power of the Medusa is connected to it.

This selection captures Rumi in a rare mood and these are some of Rumi's most passionate and heartfelt expressions, each poem resonating with the intensity and fire rarely seen in English language before. Shiva says, "Rumi -- I am constantly reminded -- is a miracle. Everything about him is absolute magic. Poetry in perfect rhyme and meter poured out of him as he whirled for hours on end, or as he fell into various states of ecstasy and rapture. There is movement in every verse of Rumi. There is music, rhythm and breath in most of his poems in Persian."

Download or read book The Names written by Don DeLillo and published by Vintage. This book was released on 2012-04-11 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Set against the backdrop of a lush and exotic Greece, The Names is considered the book which began to drive "sharply upward the size of his readership" (Los Angeles Times Book Review). Among the cast of DeLillo's bizarre yet fully realized characters in The Names are Kathryn, the narrator's estranged wife; their son, the six-year-old novelist; Owen, the scientist; and the neurotic narrator obsessed with his own neuroses. A thriller, a mystery, and still a moving examination of family, loss, and the amorphous and magical potential of language itself, The Names stands with any of DeLillo's more recent and highly acclaimed works. "The Names not only accurately reflects a portion of our contemporary world but, more importantly, creates an original world of its own."--Chicago Sun-Times "DeLillo sifts experience through simultaneous grids of science and poetry, analysis and clear sight, to make a high-wire prose that is voluptuously stark."--Village Voice Literary Supplement "DeLillo verbally examines every state of consciousness from eroticism to tourism, from the idea of America as conceived by the rest of the world to the idea of the rest of the world as conceived by America, from mysticism to fanaticism."--New York Times
Download or read book Anrealage written by Kunihiko Morinaga and published by Rizzoli Publications. This book was released on 2021-09-21 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recognized as one of the most innovative designers in contemporary fashion, Tokyo-based Anrealage is the brainchild of Kunihiko Morinaga. Born in 1980, Morinaga launched the brand in 2003, began showing in Tokyo in 2006 and Paris in 2014, and would later be the recipient of the Mainichi Grand Prize for design—Japan’s top fashion prize previously conferred to Issey Miyake, Rei Kawakubo and Yohji Yamamoto. Cerebral and tech-savvy, the Anrealage approach to design is forever putting high-concept theory into practice. Known principally for introducing photochromatic textiles into dresses that react and change colors in response to varying degrees of light, he has also received acclaim for juxtaposing contrasting textures with deconstructed elements to create unique silhouettes.A master of provocation, Morinaga has always been preoccupied byintegrating humanity with rapidly evolving technologies and is actually wary of modern society’s excesses. Bemoaning the smartphone’s impact on real world, person-to-person interaction, one of his most recent shows featured fabrics that repelled cellular signals. Anrealage has rightly won itself a devoted fashion following not only in Japan, but overseas as well, with recent insurgent collaborations with brands suchas Fendi, augmenting its growing influence with a firm grasp on how the street informs high fashion. Anrealage: A&Zis conceived as a celebration, approximating with printing effects (including augmented reality) some of the mystery and detailing associated with brand. The visual narrative itself provides an instructive look at the process of design from Morinaga’s own point of view—illustrating that he is at once comfortable with developing technologies and respectful of traditional approaches
