Book excerpt: Twins aren't always identical. This isn't more true, than in the lives of Danny and Danielle Elder. In fact, they can't stand one another. Tensions between the twins worsen, when the mysterious, Haveltre, is accidentally opened and the two are pulled away from their lives and into a realm of death and despair. Led by their guardian, Marques, the twins must face the evil that wishes to destroy the Ezidian Realm and invade Earth. Through, the Ezidian Realm they meet elves and dwarven ghosts. Face goblins and Orcs. They fight their way through swamps, forests, and some of the most treacherous landscapes. All while trying, to work together. The evil goblin, King Goula, will do whatever it takes to stop the Myserian Seals from being closed. The evil King is the largest and the most ruthless of all the goblin race. He plots his conquest of the Ezidian Realm and plans his invasion of Earth. The only thing he fears is the hands of fate. The twins learn what they must and train whenever possible. Marques teaches them how to harness their vessels and trains them in the art of weaponry, but if he can't get the two to work together, then both worlds will be doomed. Which, means if the hands of fate can't put their stubbornness aside, they may never see home again.
Book Synopsis Routledge Revivals: Literary Fat Ladies (1987) by : Patricia Parker
Download or read book Routledge Revivals: Literary Fat Ladies (1987) written by Patricia Parker and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-10-04 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1987, the essays in this volume focus on questions of gender, property and power in the use of rhetoric and the practice of literary genres, and provide a historicised cultural critique. They analyse the links between rhetoric and property, but also representations of women as unruly, excessive, teleology-breaking figures — intermeshing with feminist theory in the wake of Freud, Lacan and Derrida. A wide variety of texts — from Genesis to Freud, by way of Shakespeare, Milton, Rousseau and Emily Brontë — are examined, held together by a concern for the entanglements of rhetorical questions of literary plotting, hierarchy, ideological framing and political consequence.

Book excerpt: Winged twins, Catherine and Connor Manchester, are the magical children of Penelope Manchester and St. Michael the Archangel. At the age of five, the fairies prophesize that the twins’ soul mates are also twins which haven’t been born yet. On a mission from God, Michael takes the twins to vanquish the demon Anti Anima Mate. This demon gains powers by killing one of a soul mate pair, while leaving the surviving mate to suffer tragic loss. But this demon escapes. On Catherine’s and Connor’s 16th birthday, all Manchester Covens worldwide meet at Castle Garrison in Scotland to celebrate the coming of magical age for the first Manchester twins to be born in four hundred years. Starting with the Elders, each Manchester presents the twins with a gift. The most important gift was the Zirconium Cauldron. Resembling a giant, hollowed-out diamond, this cauldron can only be yielded by twins to amplify their already tremendous powers even more. But more important than the Zirconium Cauldron, the magical twins meet their soul mates—Lilly and Grier Manchester Garrison. These distant cousins, also twins, are only eleven years old. They vow to meet again in ten years when they are old enough to court. Ten years later, both pairs of soul mates reunite. But before they can fulfill the prophecy, they must battle the demon Anti Anima Mate and the evil Chimera sorcerer who wishes to absorb their twin powers. Zirconium Cauldron is full of magical creatures, angels, demons, fairies, and even a dragon. Will fate prevail and bring two pairs of soul mates together?
