Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Enigma of Atlantida Andres Ruiz Tarazona English and Espanol With The Enigma of Atlantida, Spanish musicologist Andres Ruiz Tarazona, has written a book that envelops the reader in the captivating mystery of Atlantis. L'Atlantida, Jacint Verdaguer's poem, relates the mythological story of the submersion of Atlantis, which created the separation of Latin America from Spain by producing the Alantic Ocean. Subsequently, with the Spanish discovery of America, the two were again unified. Spanish composer Maneul De Falla was born in Cadiz in 1876. While living in Granada, he started work on a Cantata. Based on Verdaguer's text of the poem L'Atlantida, he set about creating a large scale orchestral piece, Atlantida. He considered it his most important work, continuing with it when he moved to Argentina. He had not finished the work when he died in 1946. Ernesto Halffter completed the orchestration after the composer's death.
Book Synopsis The Hormone of Darkness by : Tilsa Otta
Download or read book The Hormone of Darkness written by Tilsa Otta and published by Graywolf Press. This book was released on 2024-10-15 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A bilingual selection of tender, transgressive poems by a Peruvian poet and multimedia artist In Tilsa Otta’s The Hormone of Darkness, we find a queer, Latinx person who has lived through iterations of authoritarian rule, and who answers these conditions by creating poetry that doubles down on a life force that precedes and exceeds received notions of the poetic. Here poetry is bawdy, fabulist, and spiritual—in short, it is alive. Otta has created a heaven where readers can go after they die. Drawing from four volumes spanning Otta’s career, translator-poet Farid Matuk has curated a playlist we can dance and dream to, one that honors Otta’s drive toward liberation through both perreo in the club and transdimensional wandering among the stars.

Book Synopsis Gardens of the Iberian Peninsula by : Nadja Horsch
Download or read book Gardens of the Iberian Peninsula written by Nadja Horsch and published by Frank & Timme GmbH. This book was released on 2023-11-22 with total page 409 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In garden research, Spanish and Portuguese green spaces are scarcely visible. This is a striking contrast not only to their diversity and quality but also to the global network of both countries, especially during the Early Modern period. To counterbalance this, specialists from Spain, Portugal and Germany gathered in 2021 on an international and interdisciplinary conference. In the Portuguese Palace of Queluz they discussed the fundamental issues of garden art on the Iberian Peninsula. Their contributions are collected in this book. They are proof of a cross-border transcultural approach, which has freed itself from national stereotypes. Also, it addresses insights which have been derived from the cultural interaction across the centuries and the different epochs of garden art.
Book Synopsis Reactive scattering for H- + H2 and H+ + H2 and its isotopologues by : Dequan Wang
Download or read book Reactive scattering for H- + H2 and H+ + H2 and its isotopologues written by Dequan Wang and published by Logos Verlag Berlin GmbH. This book was released on 2016-07-15 with total page 139 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The reactive scattering for H- + H2 and H+ + H2 and its isotopologues were investigated using different methods. The studies aimed at providing insights into elementary reactions, and go beyond these to more complexchemical reactions. By comparison of the reaction probabilities of H+ + H2 using adiabatic and non-adiabatic methods, it was found that, at low collision energies, the reaction preferentially occurs adiabatically, but at higher collision energies non-adiabatic effects should be taken into account. For H- + H2 and its isotopologues, we can see that, at low collision energies, the reaction probabilities and reaction cross section using SM-PES and AY-PES are very similar but different from PS-PES. The reaction cross sections investigated with quasi-classical trajectoriesare higher than those calculated with quantum wavepackets. For the collision H- and D- with HD, the main reaction path ways are different with the different collision energies.
Download or read book El Inmortal written by Sebastián Salado and published by Palibrio. This book was released on 2012-07 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Collected Poems by : Federico García Lorca
Download or read book Collected Poems written by Federico García Lorca and published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. This book was released on 2018-08-14 with total page 1166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A revised edition of this major writer's complete poetical work And I who was walking with the earth at my waist, saw two snowy eagles and a naked girl. The one was the other and the girl was neither. -from "Qasida of the Dark Doves" Federico García Lorca was the most beloved poet of twentieth-century Spain and one of the world's most influential modernist writers. His work has long been admired for its passionate urgency and haunting evocation of sorrow and loss. Perhaps more persistently than any writer of his time, he sought to understand and accommodate the numinous sources of his inspiration. Though he died at age thirty-eight, he left behind a generous body of poetry, drama, musical arrangements, and drawings, which continue to surprise and inspire. Christopher Maurer, a leading García Lorca scholar and editor, has brought together new and substantially revised translations by twelve poets and translators, placed side by side with the Spanish originals. The seminal volume Poet in New York is also included here in its entirety. This is the most comprehensive collection in English of a poet who—as Maurer writes in his illuminating introduction—"spoke unforgettably of all that most interests us: the otherness of nature, the demons of personal identity and artistic creation, sex, childhood, and death."

Book Synopsis Calderon and the Baroque Tradition by : Kurt Levy
Download or read book Calderon and the Baroque Tradition written by Kurt Levy and published by Wilfrid Laurier Univ. Press. This book was released on 2006-01-01 with total page 173 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Calderón and the Baroque Tradition is the outcome of a tricentennial commemoration of the seventeenth century Spanish poet and dramatist, Pedro Calderón de la Barca, and a tribute to a distinguished tradition in Calderonian studies at the University of Toronto. A major dramatist of the Spanish Golden Age and a master of the auto sacramental genre, Calderón produced some one hundred and twenty comedias and eighty autos during his rather colourful lifetime. This volume assembles an impressive collection of essays relating the baroque artistic tradition to such aspects of Calderón's theatre as the use of music, mythology, costume, and his distinctive dramatic technique. It will be of interest and value both to students of Spanish drama and Hispanic life in general and to followers of Calderón in particular.
