Download or read book Land of Erde written by Pordlaw LaRue and published by Pordlaw LaRue. This book was released on 2011-02 with total page 504 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Within the Land of Erde, a child is born. His name is Vandor Leshing. Weary of the wickedness, his grandfather (aforetime known as the Bladesman, former Auctoritas of the Sealed in Kirche of Signum) moved his family to Nesal long before the days of his grandson, having faced the servants of Darkness many times as one who served King Salvare. Will Vandor face the loss of his love, while his friend embraces the dark sorcery, as turmoil within the city and signs throughout Erde seem to point toward the prophecies of the coming Ekleipsis? Rubicund, the Dragon, has surfaced with the pale Piradad, and has come to give life unto the fallen wicked one. Jagare, son of the late Galtare, grandson of the betrayer Judarius, has recovered from his deadly wound and prepares his army of Gottlos and Ubils to contend against all of Erde. All must take the mark and bow in allegiance or face death. No soul is safe from the arm of Darkness as it stretches forth even unto the secret city of the dwarfs. Their only hope is to endure until the Daegsteorra. Witnesses have declared the imminent return of King Salvare, lending encouragement to many of the souls in hiding. Groups disperse in search and rescue of those who were left behind, pleading to all who will come, as the battle rages on against the forces of Darkness. The army of Rubicund surfaces to destroy the inhabitants of Erde. If Jagare rises to power in Signum, while his army secures a perimeter of evil, is there any hope for King Salvare and his people at the time of the Andeis? What shall be the fate of the souls of the Land of Erde?

Download or read book Tales From Another Dimension written by Robbie Sheerin and published by Silly Lilly Publishing. This book was released on 2021-12-03 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How will HG Wells react when he awakes 200 years in the future on a strange planet, faced with a terrible truth? Two young brothers make a frightening discovery about the neighbors. Do robots secretly want to rule us all? A scientist goes to extremes to change the future of mankind. But is it possible to change our destiny? Tales from another dimension is a strange and fantastical collection of ten short stories. Robbie Sheerin is inspired by classic Sci-fi, invoking nightmarish twists and turns with each story. Travel to another dimension and meet strange characters, sometimes human, and at times not so human. They will make you question the solidity of the earth and mankind. Explore prejudice, fear, imagination, kindness, empathy, and human frailty. "The Truth Comes in Storms is wonderfully evocative -and the twist caught me completely unawares. Sheerin is a writer to keep an eye on!"- Rob Yescombe. Writer of the movie "Outside the Wire" These stories are strong echoes of the classic science fiction of the 1950's, and bring back fond memories of the Twilight Zone.-Noel Chidwick. Founder and editor of the award winning sci-fi magazine Shoreline of Infinity ....Sheerin's Sci-if shorts engage the mind and senses with dread and wonder at the same time. What happens on the moon....stays on the moon, even it's from different planets.- ARZONO Publishing "With a voice of clarity and surprise, Robbie Sheerin is well worth the quick and wondrous read each of his stories provides, the insight into our humanity (or inhumanity) they present, and the lasting impression they leave. Indulge and entertain yourself!" - Jason J. Marchi, author of Venus Remembered with Ray Bradbury and the Barnes & Noble recognized bestseller The Legend of Hobbomock: The Sleeping Giant. Robbie Sheerin's insightful story "The Protector" is a chilling tale that underscores humanity's most troubling shortcomings. At its core, it reminds us that we must remain open-minded and compassionate toward those who are "not like us" or suffer the consequences..... ..."The Future You Imagine, Doctor, Is Not The Future Of The Future" is inventive and imaginative. In my opinion, all tales about our future should be appropriately apocalyptic. They should shake the foundations of our hopes and dreams .....- Leith MacArthur, author of "The Death of Harry Crow", from The William Snow Series of thrillers.

Book Synopsis A Quiet Apocalypse by : Dave Jeffery
Download or read book A Quiet Apocalypse written by Dave Jeffery and published by . This book was released on 2020-01-22 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The end is hear... A mutant strain of meningitis has wiped out most of mankind. The few who have survived the fever are now deaf. Bitter with loss and terrified to leave the city known as Cathedral, the inhabitants rely on The Samaritans, search teams sent out into the surrounding countryside. Their purpose, to hunt down and enslave the greatest commodity on Earth, an even smaller group of people immune to the virus, people who can still hear. People like me. My name is Chris. This is my story. "A Quiet Apocalypse is told from the perspective of ex-schoolteacher Chris, a hearing survivor. He has lost everything, including his freedom, and through his eyes we learn of what it is like to live as a slave in this terrible new world of fear and loss. I was keen to write a piece that preyed upon people's traditional misconceptions of deafness as an illness, and the imposition of 'hearing' norms. It is a story that has poignancy in any understanding of the struggles of minority groups." - Author, Dave Jeffery (Cover by Adrian Baldwin; original artwork by Roberto Segate)

When drunk teenagers add letters to the Welcome to Nower County sign, making it Welcome to NowHerE County, nobody repaints it. Why bother? Everyone knows they live in the middle of nowhere. Children’s book author Charlie McClintock and her three-year-old daughter, Merrie, return home to settle Charlie’s recently deceased mother’s affairs. It’s the first time since high school that she and childhood friends Sam Sheridan and Malachi Tackett have been reunited. A beat of happiness before Charlie experiences an unexplainable disaster. A bizarre storm blows through the Appalachian Mountains and literally wipes Nowhere County off the map. The outside world forgets the tiny town ever existed, and no one can leave. Anyone who tries wakes up in the Dollar General Store parking lot with blinding headaches, gushing nosebleeds, and no clue what happened to them. Locals name the shimmering mirage on the county line that imprisons them the Jabberwock. Abby Clayton thinks it's Charlie’s pet. Desperate to bring her baby home from the hospital across county lines, Abby is the only person who has dared to “ride the Jabberwock” more than once. She believes it spoke to her. Brain-damaged, barely able to walk from her injuries, Abby hatches a deranged plot to force Charlie to make the Jabberwock set them free. Will Malachi manage to stop her and save Charlie and Merrie in time? And can Abby survive one more ride on the Jabberwock? ★★★★★ "I am gob-smacked! I love this book and will probably read it again. I have read several of her books and I think this is the best by far but I probably would have said that about the others as I finished them. She is an author not to be missed if you like Stephen King. Do not miss out! Very highly recommended!!" -- Terrie Guin ★★★★★ "Ninie Hammon always delivers a story that has never been told before. Nowhere USA opens with a bang that promises a great series.
