Unter Einwanderung, auch Migration genannt, versteht man "(...) Wanderbewegungen von Menschen oder Gruppen, die ihren bisherigen Wohnsitz längerfristig wechseln und dabei in ein anderes Land ziehen oder wieder in ihr Herkunftsland zurückkehren" (Meier-Braun 2002: Einleitung). Nun ist die Frage auch mit diesem Zitat noch nicht geklärt. Es gibt etliche Begründungen, Deutschland sei ein Einwanderungsland, was sich im Folgenden zeigen wird. Insbesondere die statistischen Daten deuten darauf hin. Im Folgenden werde ich darauf hin arbeiten, die Meinungen etlicher Forscher, Statistiken und auch historische Ereignisse mit einzubeziehen, um zur Antwort zu gelangen. In meiner schriftlichen Ausarbeitung geht es nun darum zu untersuchen, ob die Frage "Deutschland - ein Einwanderungsland?" bloß eine Suggestivfrage ist, die mit "ja" oder mit "nein" beantwortet werden kann oder ob es ein noch nicht abgeschlossenes Terrain ist.
