Im Rahmen meiner Hausarbeit will ich versuchen die Ausgangspunkte dieser Diskussion transparent zu machen. Ebenso soll das Spannungs-, aber auch das Abhängigkeitsverhältnis von Hilfe und Kontrolle dargestellt werden. Meiner Meinung nach ist es sinnvoll über die Geschichte der Sozialen Arbeit zum eigentlichen Thema, der gegenwärtigen Diskussion über Hilfe und Kontrolle hinzuführen, da bereits die historische Entwicklung der Fürsorgetätigkeit zeigt, dass Hilfe immer in engem Zusammenhang mit unterschiedlichen Machtverhältnissen und dadurch mit Kontrolle zu verstehen ist. Anschließend soll eine Zusammenfassung des Aufsatzes „Sozialarbeiterisches Alltagshandeln zwischen Hilfe und Kontrolle“ von Siegfried Müller jene Problematik verdeutlichen. Im besonderen soll hier die gesellschaftliche Funktion von Sozialer Arbeit bestimmt werden.

Ohne jedoch die Gegenwart zu verstehen, wird der Wunsch eine Zukunft zu formen, kaum ermöglicht. Die Auseinandersetzung mit der Entwicklung der Sozialen Arbeit eröffnet damit die Entstehungsgeschichte zu kennen, die Erkenntnis Werte wahrzunehmen und aus vergangenen Fehlern zu lernen. Das Betrachten des Themas ist für mich als baldiger Sozialarbeiter sehr wichtig und interessant. Es hilft mir zu verstehen, wodurch die heutige Soziale Arbeit entstanden ist und aus der Vergangenheit zu lernen. Auch motiviert es mich, da einzelne Revolutionäre in der Entwicklungsgeschichte einen Unterschied machen konnten und dies stärkt ebenfalls den Wunsch Veränderung bringen zu wollen und zu können. Ich selber bin ehrenamtlich in einer christlichen Organisation tätig und bin dankbar mich mit der Vergangenheit der Sozialen Arbeit beschäftigt zu haben und damit in der Praxis in der Gegenwart mehr Erkenntnisse zu haben, wie ein bestimmter Dienst entstanden ist und aus welchen Fehlern ich lernen darf, um die Zukunft mit zu entwerfen. In Anlehnung an Tholes Ausführungen (2012) auf die „Soziale[n] Dienste: Von der Gesundheits-, Alten-, und Armenfürsorge zur ausdifferenzierten, dienstleistungsorientierten Sozialen Hilfe.“, wurde diese Hausarbeit verfasst. Das Ziel dabei ist einen Überblick über die Grundlagen der Entwicklung der Sozialen Dienste in Deutschland zu geben. Es wird mehr auf einen „roten Faden“ der Geschichte geachtet als auf die Vollständigkeit kleiner Details. .

The techniques employed in such analysis first took on a recognizably modern form in the 1970s, but their roots go back to the earliest days of motion picture technology in the late nineteenth century. This book presents original essays accompanied by written responses which together create a dialogue exploring early efforts at audio-visual sequence analysis and their common goal to capture the "whole" of the communicative situation. The first three chapters of this volume look at the film-based research of Gestalt psychologists in Berlin as well as psychologists in the orbit of Karl and Charlotte Bühler in Vienna in the first decades of the twentieth century. Most of these figures – along with many other Central European scholars of this era – were driven into exile in the United States after the rise of National Socialism in the 1930s. This scientific migration led to the cross-pollination of communication studies in America, an outcome visible in the leading project in interaction research of the mid-twentieth century, the Natural History of an Interview. The following two chapters examine this project in its historical context. The volume closes with a critical edition of a treasure from the archives: the transcript of a speech delivered by Ray Birdwhistell, a key participant in the Natural History of an Interview project and founder of kinesics.

Since then the book has gone through five more editions and has been translated into Spanish and Italian. The present English translation is based on the sixth German edition. The author was Professor of Economics at the University of Freiburg, Germany. Professor Eucken was a student at a time when the Historical School dominated the teaching of econo mics at the German universities. Although, at the beginning of his career, he did some work along the lines of the Historical School, neither the ~ims nor the methods of historical research the field of economics as practised by the representatives in of the Historical School satisfied him; and the fact that the members of this school were unable to explain the causes of economic events such as the German inflation after World War I was an added reason for him to turn to economic theory. He became, among German economists, the foremost opponent of the Historical School, which he criticised in several publica tions. Through his wrItings and his teaching he contributed his share to the revival of interest in economic theory which was noticeable in the 'twenties. And he was one of the few economists left in Germany who helped to keep this interest alive during the 'thirties and during World War II. During this time he published Kapitaltheoretische Untersuchungen (1936), and the present volume, which immediately gave rise to an extensive discussion in German economic journals.

Yet, this necessity for embeddedness stands in contrast to the demand in geographical mobility. How is this contradiction solved by individuals? What new forms of place attachment does this bring about? This book introduces a showcase of 25 multilocal creative knowledge workers, who live in different countries at the same time. It investigates how continuous mobility becomes part of their lifeworld, and how it changes their feelings of belonging and practices of place attachment. Applying an innovative methodological mix of social phenomenology, hermeneutics and mental mapping, this book takes a detailed look at biographies and the role of places in mobile lifeworlds. Plug&Play Places brings forth the idea that places have to be understood as individual items, which are configured and then plugged into the ‘system’ of the own lifeworld. They can be ‘played’ without great effort once an individual needs to make use of them. This new type of place attachment is a form of subjective standardization of place, which complements the well-known models of objective standardization of places. Plug&Play Places is relevant for scientists who deal with mobility and its impact on individual lifeworlds, with transnational multilocality and with flexibilized labour markets.
