Sendo assim necessário compreender e rediscutir as questões ambientais para a formação de um arcabouço teórico que contribua para desembaraçar os entraves e desvendar os diversos fatores que compõem esta temática. Esta obra teve o objetivo principal de analisar a utilização da educação ambiental e da percepção ambiental no processo educativo tendo como foco a percepção ambiental de alunos de escolas públicas estaduais da cidade de Boa Vista (RR) e ainda como esta temática tem sido trabalhada nas instituições de ensino pesquisadas. Para atingir o objetivo proposto por este estudo foram utilizados como procedimentos metodológicos a pesquisa bibliográfica e documental e um estudo de caso com trabalho de campo. Assim, com base nos objetivos elencados este livro está estruturado em cinco sessões, partindo de elementos teóricos e conceituais, para apresentar os resultados e as inferências da pesquisa. Na Introdução, o livro traz uma contextualização do tema, apontando algumas considerações teóricas e conceituais, enfatizando os objetivos a serem alcançados e indica ainda toda a estruturação do trabalho. O primeiro capítulo corresponde ao Referencial Teórico, o qual consiste numa revisão de literatura que ajudaram a encontrar os diversos saberes e contribuições científicas disponíveis, servindo para fomentar os conhecimentos e discussões, afinar as perspectivas teóricas, precisar e objetivar o arcabouço conceitual, portanto indispensável para guiar todo o processo de construção do conhecimento. O segundo capítulo intitulado Metodologia traz uma caracterização metodológica, explicitando o tipo de pesquisa realizada, bem como detalhando os procedimentos metodológicos de levantamento e análise de dados adotados para a realização da pesquisa. O terceiro capítulo, Resultados e Discussões, apresenta a análise dos dados obtidos na realização desta pesquisa, permitindo uma apreensão comparativa sobre a educação ambiental em diferentes escolas no município de Boa Vista, capital do estado de Roraima. Por fim, na seção de Considerações Finais, argumentos sintéticos são trazidos à guisa de conclusão, cuja pretensão é integrar as partes e os resultados obtidos por meio da identificação dos principais temas abordados neste livro e fazer algumas inferências e recomendações. Os resultados da pesquisa revelaram que são vários os fatores que influenciam a percepção ambiental dos alunos e que ela precisa ser melhor explorada pelos docentes para direcionar de forma mais eficaz as ações relacionadas a sustentabilidade ambiental. A escola constitui-se em um dos espaços mais propícios para as práticas ambientais, por isso, as instituições pesquisadas precisam de um esforço contínuo para a qualificação de seus profissionais com ênfase nos estudos perceptivos projetando assim como um instrumento aliado da educação ambiental.

This attitude has also afflicted the academic analysis of material culture, although this is now beginning to change, with material culture recently emerging as a topic in its own right within the social sciences. Carl Knappett seeks to contribute to this emergent field by adopting a wide-ranging interdisciplinary approach that is rooted in archaeology and integrates anthropology, sociology, art history, semiotics, psychology, and cognitive science. His thesis is that humans both act and think through material culture; ways of knowing and ways of doing are ingrained within even the most mundane of objects. This requires that we adopt a relational perspective on material artifacts and human agents, as a means of characterizing their complex interdependencies.
