This book was released on 2023-05-01 with total page 910 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The National Education Finance Academy has once again convened university faculty members, state-level administrators, officials from state level chapters of the Association of School Business Officials, and others to provide a single-volume reference of school funding mechanisms for each of the states, the District of Columbia, Indian Country, and the US territories. This volume supplements the annual “state-of-the-state” profiles produced by the National Education Finance Academy so that educators, policymakers, and researchers can have access to accurate and concise information on how K12 education functions are supported across multiple jurisdictions. In addition, each profile addresses state level efforts to provide education funding to support schools during the COVID- 19 pandemic. The second edition expands upon groundbreaking work in the first edition, which for the first time reported comprehensively on the multiple jurisdictions and mechanisms impacting funding for Native American students, by also reporting on policies and funding mechanisms for public schools in US Territories.
Book Synopsis Market Values in American Higher Education by : Charles W. Smith
Download or read book Market Values in American Higher Education written by Charles W. Smith and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2000 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Charles W. Smith's provocative book, Market Values in American Higher Education argues that current financial problems in higher education are not tied to such things as tenure, sabbaticals, overemphasis on research, and curriculum changes. Rather, they are due to counterproductive and expensive efforts to impose hierarchical corporate managerial structures, slash and burn cost reduction schemes, and costly pursuits of phantom revenue sources--be they highly visible new programs, grants, or even gifts that actually need to be subsidized by the institution.
Book Synopsis Invitation To Algebra: A Resource Compendium For Teachers, Advanced Undergraduate Students And Graduate Students In Mathematics by : Vlastimil Dlab
Download or read book Invitation To Algebra: A Resource Compendium For Teachers, Advanced Undergraduate Students And Graduate Students In Mathematics written by Vlastimil Dlab and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2020-06-09 with total page 452 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a compendium style account of a comprehensive mathematical journey from Arithmetic to Algebra. It contains material that is helpful to graduate and advanced undergraduate students in mathematics, university and college professors teaching mathematics, as well as some mathematics teachers teaching in the final year of high school. A successful teacher must know more than what a particular course curriculum asks for. A number of topics that are missing in present-day textbooks, and which may be attractive to students at the graduate or advanced undergraduate level in mathematics, for example, continued fractions, arithmetic progressions of higher order, complex numbers in plane geometry, differential schemes, path semigroups and path algebras, have been carefully presented. This reflects the aim of the book to attract students to mathematics.

Download or read book Public School Finance Programs of the United States and Canada 1990-1991. Volumes One and Two written by Steven David Gold and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These volumes update the three previous editions (published for 1976-77, 1978-79, and 1986-87) by describing school finance programs in 1990-91 in the United States and Canada. This effort is descriptive, rather than prescriptive. The volumes consist of two major parts. The first part provides an overview of the school finance systems in the two countries. The overview draws primarily on information in the state and province descriptions in the second part of volume 1 and all of volume 2 but is supplemented where appropriate by information from other sources. The revenue of U.S. public elementary and secondary schools was $222.7 billion during 1990-91. Nearly half this revenue (48.3 percent) was provided by state governments, 45.5 percent by local governments, and 6.2 percent by the federal government. Revenue per pupil varies from $9,447 in New Jersey to $3,341 in Utah. Information in the state description section is highlighted in a series of tables covering basic state support programs, local support of schools, capital outlay and debt service, transportation, special education, other selected categorical programs, and teacher retirement programs. The second part consists of descriptions of the school finance systems in 49 states and 10 provinces. No description was obtained from West Virginia. This section closes with a listing of state and provincial education department contacts. Numerous tables and figures are included. (MLH)
