Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CONTRAIREMENT A CE QUI FONDE LA THEORIE DE L'ECHANGE INEGAL ELABOREE PAR ARGHIRI EMMANUEL, LA LOI DE LA VALEUR NE PEUT ETRE CONCUE NI SUR LE PLAN NATIONAL NI A L'ECHELLE INTERNATIONALE COMME UN SIMPLE PROCES DE PARTAGE DU PRODUIT SOCIAL. SA MISE EN OEUVRE, SON FONCTIONNEMENT ET SES EFFETS DEPENDENT DES CONDITIONS DOMINANTES DE MISE EN VALEUR DES CAPITAUX. LE CAPITAL FINANCIER, QUI EST LA FORME D'EXISTENCE HEGEMONIQUE DES CAPITAUX AU SEIN DE L'ECONOMIE MONDIALE CAPITALISTE ET DU MARCHE MONDIAL CORRESPONDANT, IMPULSE UNE MISE EN VALEUR DES CAPITAUX A VOCATION INTERNATIONALE METTANT EN AVANT L'ACCROISSEMENT DE LA RENTABILITE FINANCIERE AU DETRIMENT DE CELUI DE LA PRODUCTIVITE. CETTE LOGIQUE DETERMINE LA FORMATION ET LE TRANSFERT D'UN SURPROFIT, APPELE RENTE IMPERIALISTE, PAR DIFFERENCE ENTRE LES PRIX DE PRODUCTION DANS LES PAYS CAPITALISTES ARRIERES ET CEUX DANS LES PAYS CAPITALISTES DEVELOPPES.

Download or read book Samir Amin written by Samir Amin and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-09-12 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These texts by Samir Amin have been selected for the purpose of encouraging readers to learn more about his work to trace the historical trajectory of capitalism, which has consistently produced polarization at the global level. Thus the dominated peripheries cannot hope to catch up with the social organization prevailing in the dominant centres and the impossibility of global capitalism becoming stabilized in its peripheries has resulted in the long decline of capitalism, coinciding with successive waves of active involvement by the peoples of the South to shape a new world, potentially embarking on the long journey to socialism. Amin presents this major conflict of the 20th century and identifies the new challenges that the system now faces in the 21st century. His analysis is conducted in terms of historical materialism and should be a useful tool for activists struggling for socialism. Their progress is linked to the emancipation of the Asian, African and Latin American peoples.
Download or read book Value and Crisis written by Makoto Itoh and published by Monthly Review Press. This book was released on 2020-12-30 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Analyzes Japanese contributions to Marxist theory Marxist economic thought has had a long and distinguished history in Japan, dating back to the First World War. When interest in Marxist theory was virtually nonexistent in the United States, rival schools of thought in Japan emerged, and brilliant debates took place on Marx’s Capital and on capitalism as it was developing in Japan. Forty years ago, Makoto Itoh’s Value and Crisis began to chronicle these Japanese contributions to Marxist theory, discussing in particular views on Marx’s theories of value and crisis, and problems of Marx’s theory of market value. Now, in a second edition of his book, Itoh deepens his study Marx’s theories of value and crisis, as an essential reference point from which to analyze the multiple crises that have arisen during the past four decades of neoliberalism. One contribution of the original Value and Crisis was to bridge Japan and the world in the field of Marxian political economy. Itoh’s second edition demonstrates an even wider-ranging familiarity with major schools of Marxist thought, summarizing and assessing viewpoints of such theorists as Hilferding, Bauer, Kautsky, Bukharin, Luxemburg, Grossman, Sweezy, the Japanese Marxist Kozo Uno, together with the relevant parts of Capital and a section on the 1930’s Great Depression. Given today’s current emergencies of world capitalism and socialism, says Itoh, we need to work together to resolve new global problems, articulating new issues of Marx’s theories of value and crisis. The promise of Marx’s theories has not waned. If anything—given the failure of Soviet-style socialism and the catastrophe of neoliberalism—it grows daily.

Download or read book Economic Theories in a Non-Walrasian Tradition written by Takashi Negishi and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1985 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Negishi examines a broad range of topics in the history of economics that have relevance to current economic theories. The author contends that one of the tasks for historians of economics is to analyze and interpret theories currently outside the mainstream of economic theory, in this case, Walrasian economics. Familiar topics covered include the division of labor, economies of scale, wages, profit, international trade, market mechanisms, and money. These are considered in reference to the well-known non-Walrasian schools of thought.
Book Synopsis Accounting for Colonialism by : Richard F. America
Download or read book Accounting for Colonialism written by Richard F. America and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2024-01-17 with total page 381 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines qualitatively and quantitatively the exploitation of African through colonialism and imperialism. The contribution included build on previous qualitative analyses of the effects of imperialism and colonialism in Africa. Chapters expand on that body of work and introduce new ways to measure some of the benefits that accrued to Europe and North America through centuries of systematic underpayments and overcharges that one can consider abuse of dominance. The collection also adds to an ongoing process that is related to the growing work related to reparations. This book, thereby, contributes to a process of changing international development assistance policy. It helps to create a basis for officially estimating the continuing gains from past and current actions against African economic, social, and political institutions and systems. This edited volume, which showcases a diversity of scholars and their perspectives, attempts to establish wrongful benefits and damages from almost 600 years of international harm to the African continent.
