Book excerpt: Seismic disturbance is the physical sign of disturbance in the moral, psychic, and mental fields. Earthquakes, floods, and social upheavals presage a new order of things for the human race — the rule of the strong hand in the shape of bureaucratic despotism, and military intimidation with global reach. Earthquakes are dreadful but they can be avoided when their probable place is known. But social earthquakes and moral pestilence go with man where he goes, and cannot be averted by any alteration of place. So, do your duty where you find yourself and, if from your goodness you are a favourite of gods, you will escape; if not, it is better to die and take another chance at building up your character in a future life. As solid Earth began as a ball of liquid fire, so did man. At the beginning of every new Round, the earth casts off her old skins as the serpent does his skin to be born again. Her Seven Skins stand for the seven geological changes which accompany and correspond to the evolution of the Seven Root-Races of humanity. The human races that succeed each other are separated by large-scale change in the earth’s surface and rapid continental subsidence. Violent minor cataclysms and colossal earthquakes are etched in the annals of most nations. Elevation and subsidence of continents continue as we speak. The Himalayas, the Alps, and the American Cordillera were depositions drifted to the bottom of the seas and then upheaved by Titanic forces to their present elevation. Earth is convulsed each time that it reawakens for a new period of activity, like a field which has to be ploughed and furrowed before fresh seed for its new crop is thrown into it. At last, the form of the gigantic Ape-Man of the former Round has been reproduced in this one by human bestiality and transfigured into the parent form in the modern Anthropoid. The old astrologers and mathematicians predicted natural disasters with far more precision and correctness, than their modern counterparts. Modern buildings may tumble into the street, but much of the ancient monuments remain intact. The “wonders” of our age are the nightmares of the times, where philosophicules pour out modern wisdom as milk, and curdle it like cheese.

Book excerpt: The Second Coming of Jesus Christ will be announced by the most unimaginably powerful earthquake never known by man, splitting the Mount of Olives in two, and changing the earth worldwide. There are at least seventeen earthquakes revealed in the Bible, nine of them in the New Testament. Every earthquake reveals God's presence and His power. Some reveal God's warning and wrath against sin. God placed every earthquake fault on the earth at the creation, and He knows where they are, when He will release them, for whatever purpose He chooses. The Bible describes five distinct conditions of the earth. First it was formless, lifeless, and enshrouded in darkness. After the six days of creation, the earth was transformed into the second condition: pristine, free of sin, beautiful, and peaceful for man. The sinful third condition occurred when satan entered the garden, introduced sin, and began to assault man. God cleansed the earth once again with the Great Flood, but man quickly reintroduced sin into the world, creating the fourth condition we are living in today. It is a world that is in serious moral decline due to greed, pride, immorality, disobedience, love for each other gone cold, and the increasing rejection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God will finally change this fourth condition with devastating events during the seven years of tribulation, releasing four worldwide earthquakes and finally, an unimaginable final earthquake to purge the earth of sin and create the peaceful, sin-free, and pristine fifth condition for 1,000 years. The earthly kingdom and the heavenly kingdom will become one, and Jesus will reign until the final judgement of sinners. God will bring the New Jerusalem down from heaven where we will be in the presence of God and Jesus for all eternity.

The Religio-Philosophical Journal is neither religious nor philosophical. As the Indian spirit of patriotism and independence had been numbed, Colonel Olcott called upon the Japanese not to prostrate themselves at the shrine of foreign civilization.

Book excerpt: Is it possible for me, who loves animals, to learn how to get more power than I have to help them in their sufferings? Why do the noblest animals suffer so much at the hands of men? I need not enlarge or try to explain this question. Cities are torture places for the animals who can be turned to any account for use or amusement by man! And these are always the most noble. Why should a harmless creature be burnt alive, or vivisected? Suffering is the cause of knowledge, so that the incarnating entity gains experience, although the organism is tortured to death. In China frogs are under the protection of law. We award the palm of superiority to the Chinese over the English legal documents, for the mellifluous, kindly, and fatherly appeal of the philobatrachian Chinese is far superior to dry, commaless, and incomprehensible legal twaddle of the British lawyer.

Book excerpt: He was answerable for her during the perilous excursions which she made with her father and sisters to hunt the wild boar in the mountains; he was the one who adjusted the bridle and fastened the girth of her horse, who loaded her gun, who carried that gun slung across his shoulders, who aided her to overleap the ravines and torrents, who plunged into the thickets brought her the game which she shot, who wrapped her in his cloak to protect her from the rain or snow. Such frequent and complete intimacy between a sensitive and ardent young man, and a young girl whose childhood each was imperceptibly changing into adolescence and charms, could hardly fail of awakening in their bosoms, almost without their knowledge, a first and in involuntary attachment. There is no snare more dangerous for two pure than that which is prepared by habit and veiled by innocence. Fate united them. Even though they reproached it, they adored it. The eye of man is dimmed and dazzled and moistened when it rests on the mystery of such a situation! If fault there was, man can only see it through the tears which, as he condemns, wash out fault and absolve the faulty. Who can peer into two sealed hearts and read characters which have been obliterated by torrents of tears, and which are only visible to the eye of God?

This book was released on 2017-12-25 with total page 18 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The real earth is Gaia, the subjective matrix of the Universe. Our planet is Gaia’s emanation on the illusive plane of the most material world in the universe of being. The present creation, when the Earth was lifted out of the water by Brahma in the shape of a boar, is one of two great creations mentioned in the Puranas. For the waters had separated and the process of incrustation was started. What makes the world go around is the Divine Desire manifesting itself through the interrelationship of its parts. That Desire is not only beyond Spirit-Matter, it is the very cause of the two Opposing Forces. Earth is Solid Fire; water Liquid Fire; air Semi-spiritual Fire. The Spirit of the Earth is Hestia-Vesta, says Proclus. But Vesta is neither the spiritual, nor the physical Sun. She is animated by the Spirit of Life. Gaia’s symbol is Gamma, the third Greek letter and ideogram of both life eternal and of earthly life. The Jewish kabbalists, especially the practical Occultists who dealt with ceremonial magic, busied themselves solely with the spirits of the Planets and the “Elementals,” so-called. The Christian Theologians opposed the theory of the Earth’s rotation because, besides depriving our orb of its dignified central position in space, this theory produced an appalling confusion of ideas as to the Ascension, thus complicating the precise locality of heaven. The Spirit of Life issues from the Earth’s North Pole, flows around her, and becomes foul at the South Pole. In the first beginnings of human life on Earth, the only dry land was on the North Pole, where the gods rested and Fohat reigns ever since. Incrustation, however, is an incredibly slow process: the Earth did not reach her present grade of density until eighteen million years ago. The Earth needs solar heat and rain to make her throw out her germs. The procreative properties of Fire and Water, or Spirit and Matter, are symbols only of physical generation. In other words, Fire and Water are illusive emanations of their spiritual prototypes and, therefore, unclean and unholy. The Earth is now in her middle principle the astral body of self-importance, graspingness, and greed. Her present principle, the fourth in her septempartite constitution, is the astral body of desires (Kama-rupa) and of dark egotism (Ahamkara), the offspring of Mahat-Nous. The Earth will reach her true ultimate form, inversely in this to man, only toward the end of the Manvantara after the Seventh Round.
